While we have had no water and this is the only people that are answering their phones they thought that they could charge me $200 just to come to my house I wouldn't suggest these rip-offs to anyone this is patheticSouthern Trust Home Services, Inc.

Phenomenal job of installing a new gas furnace. Jessee and Evan were here on time as said, had a few small issues with "fit" which they worked out professionally, and were completed by 2 pm. They were very cordial and professional with all aspects of the work including workmanship and paperwork. I would recommend them and the company as a whole.

I relocated a refugee family into a small home I own . I have done business with Southern Trust for several years and took advantage of the service plan that allowed me to cover 2 properties. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. Red tape makes it almost impossible for similar families to open accounts for basic utilities. Water and electricity were already in my name … but I never turned on the gas. After several trips to the gas company we were able to secure an appointment to have the gas turned on! BUT, the gas hot water heater didn’t work! I tried to work on it … to no avail. So I called Southern Trust yesterday and they sent out a service rep today! I just got a call from them explaining the mechanical issues with the news … “No Charge!” I can’t thank Chris and his team enough for serving the refugee community in Roanoke! They are here legally and need a helping hand … which was extended to them today. I am proud of Southern Trust and will continue to patronize them and I hope the community will as well!Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

This company is a ripoff! Charged me $140 service call on a Sunday to fix a toilet running water then charged me $188 to replace the flapper only! Total $330 ??
Quoted me $1000 to replace valve and total flapper kit! I gave them a check and wish I didn’t but they would’ve still charged me $140 if they didn’t do anything ! ??????????Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

The pricing was correct. We pulled the service expert away from his family to serve this customer on a Sunday afternoon. The emergency response fee was $139, which was quoted when the customer called and asked us to send a service expert to her home. The customer agreed. The customer was then charged a minor diagnostic of $188 to fix her issue, which is the smallest charge we have. We do up-front pricing, so the customer knew the minor diagnostic fee of $188 up-front and approved it before the service expert did the work. Had the customer not wanted the service expert to fix the issue, he would have simply collected the emergency response fee (which the customer was fully aware of) and left the customer's home. We won't be serving this customer again.Review fromJerad S

HVAC system installed 06-2021, serviced 12-2023, fixed a week later in 01-2024. Honest knowledgeable technicians. Prompt service when urgency is shown. Due to a miscommunication in the company, parts for my system were delayed in being installed. Management was negotiable in the pricing of my repair, and made up for the delay. So a star for each of the three technicians that worked on my system, and one each for the 2 managers that dealt with my account for a 5 star experience.Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

I contacted them about my heat pump not blowing air. I paid the $79 service fee. The technician did not test anything on the unit and diagnosed the blower fan needed to be replaced. Quoted $1567.00. I had just had the same repair done 3 months ago at my rental house in North Carolina on exact same unit and the cost was $500. When I questioned the breakdown of labor and parts I was told they did not do their estimates like that. Of course he recommended I get a new unit due to the age and set up appointment for salesman to come out. If I was going to do the repair it was going to be 5-7 days for the motor to come in and replaced. I opted to call my service tech in North Carolina for advice. The cost for motor was $200, he said it could be the capacitor and suggested we try that first. My husband is handy and could replace capacitor with no problem so we ordered. Received in 2 days for $11. Replaced it and unit is working perfectly. How many people do they rip off? I was promised the return of the $79 service call since they didn’t diagnose correctly. Another lie. Never refunded or got a call back from Craig regarding the refund. DON’T USE THEM.Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

We will place this customer on our "do not service" list because of her false accusations. Our pricing is completely and totally in line with other companies in the area who offer similar services. Our technical skills and expertise are worth far more than $11. The $79 refund has been issued, but it hasn't hit the client's account yet. We operate with complete integrity, and there are specific realities not understood by most customers as it relates to operating and sustaining a business to serve thousands of customers annually. We understand there are 2% of customers who we'll never please, and this customer is one of those. That's okay. We wish the customer well.Review fromTheresa J

I want potential customers to be aware that Southern Trust Home Services of Roanoke, VA regularly overcharges to the extreme. For 10 minutes of actual plumbing work and 26$ retail plumbing parts they wanted $1835 for premium, $1490 for Plus service, and $ 1144 for basic service. Since we had their Total Care Program our price ended up at $747. All we needed was to cap the 1/4” outflow water supply shut off valve after removing icemaker. Instead he cut off about 2’ of pipe and shutoff and replacing with shutoff and plastic tubing. I contacted them about their overcharging policies in general and especially with work we had done. The substitute manager said he would get back to me after discussing with his boss and no one ever did. What aggravates me is the many customers who are taken in by these predatory practices that cannot afford these prices. I checked with several companies and on line comparison sites such as ****** and ************ and found Southern Trust charging 2-4x the prices of other companies. So customers beware!Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

We provided service to this customer on 11/19/23. We did have one of our representatives speak with the customer on 11/20/23. The customer paid $696.62. We always provide multiple options for customers to consider, and it's the customer's choice on which option they select. This customer selected the $696 option, and authorized us to do the work in writing before the work began. The service expert completed the work, including a lifetime guarantee on his craftsmanship. We stand behind our pricing, but we also realize we're not for everyone.Review fromAsia F

I will preface this by saying kudos to the plumbing supervisor Christopher ****** and Mauricio ******* for making it right. The only reason I’m not giving it 1 star is because of them both. HOWEVER beware of plumber Travis ********* he will overcharge you and give you ridiculous estimates. I do believe I was taken advantage of by him but after speaking with the supervisor several times he made things right but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

I will not ever let those people in my home again. They came out to evaluate our water pressure two years ago and sold us a water filtration and softening system. After installation someone gave us a very brief rundown about how to maintain the system. We were told to call the company if we had any further questions. Several times over the next two years we called and told a service technician would return our call and no one ever did. Now we've just paid them $600 to come fill the chemical levels and adjust the settings that were incorrect and had been since installation. Instead of giving us the support and information we needed to maintain the system ourselves, we were ignored until we needed to pay them to fix it. Why, only two years after the installation of this $9,000 system do we need to have someone come fix it? We would have been happy to maintain it ourselves had we known what to do. Instead we couldn't get any response from them until they were asked to come out.Southern Trust Home Services, Inc.

Our technician installed the water filtration and softening system and let the client know it would need to be serviced annually. We have called the client several times, but our calls haven't been returned. These outbound calls are all documented in our customer relationship management system. Customers aren't able to service these units themselves because of the level of specificity needed. For example, pH levels need to be balanced, etc.
