I have three Zak designs cup that were purchased less than a year ago. Even following all manufacturer instructions, the cups do not wash well and have a bad odor. The seal in the lid is faulty and causes smells and mildew to remain trapped no matter what you do to clean the cups. I purchased a Bluey dinnerware set in the month of March 2025. It arrived at my daughter's house, not at my address by my request, on March 23, 2025. I took it home that day and let it remain sealed in its box as it was an Easter gift for my 2-year-old granddaughter. We saw them for Easter the day after easter, which was April 21, 2025. My daughter opened the box and everyone was so excited, especially my little granddaughter, but then my daughter noticed the plate was cracked. It was indeed bubble wrapped, but not sufficiently, apparently. I took a picture of it and immediately wrote **** designs, as I knew that they had a 30-day return window within which I could start a return request. With their return request, **** promises to get back to people who file one within 48 hours. It's been almost a week and I have not heard anything from them. I contacted them by direct email. I contacted them by filling out the start a return form on their website. I have called them numerous times at their customer service number. I filed this complaint within the 30-day time frame. I filed it on both April 21 and April 22, 2025. April ***************************************************************************************** spite of my numerous contacts with their company. This is unconscionable. They have a guarantee and they should stand by it. I originally asked for a replacement to be sent out immediately and I'd be happy to return the broken item or the whole set if they wanted it, if they provided me with a return label of course because I wasn't paying to send back something that was broken in shipment. Haven't heard anything from them! Now I want a full refund. And a return shipping label so I can send this back. This is crazy! I have supporting documents that I can send. No wonder they have a C- rating for not getting back to customers who file complaints!Customer Answer

Hello. I'm writing to notify you that, WITHOUT any communication to me from Zak whatsoever about this issue, I have just now discovered that they refunded my money. It's the result is requested, but the way the company went about this entire situation left a lot to be desired. Not the greatest customer service at all.

I purchased a Zak Designs water bottle from Target in 2024. It had two labels on it stating it was dishwasher safe, but when put in the dishwasher the bottle melted. I submitted a customer service email on 10/3/24 and got a response to fill out the warranty form on 10/4/24 and was told they'd be in touch in 1-2 weeks. I subsequently filled out the form on 10/4/24. I have received no response despite follow *** on 10/11/24, 10/23/24, and 1/15/24.

I purchased four items in August 2024. Two straw cups and two insulated straw tumblers. All four of these products are terrible. Within the first few washes, the designs were faded off of each cup and tumbler. I have only ever hand washed the items per the cleaning instructions. In November, I sent an email asking them if this was a common issue - I was not seeking any refund at that time. The company replied and told me to fill out a warranty claim without ever answering my question. I filled out the warranty claim as instructed. On their website, they state I would hear from someone within 2 weeks. After 3 weeks of no response I sent another email. They did not reply. I waited another two weeks and sent a third email. Again, with no reply. One week after that I sent one more email and no reply. Then I received a refund notification a few weeks after that with absolutely no correspondence from the company. The refund amount was only for two items, not my entire order. I responded to the email notification asking if there was more information or if the rest of the order would be refunded as well. This time I did receive a reply from someone named **** and her title said "Consumer Relations Coordinator". She told me to fill out a return form and someone would be in touch. However, my order is outside of the return policy at this point so I replied and said that if the company would like me to return these items, they can send me a return label because my order was placed in August. I received another reply from ***** who told me that I did not need to return the items and provided no further information if the rest of the order was going to be refunded. I have sent two more emails since then and have not heard back from anyone. Not a single person has answered my emails from December or early January. It seems as though they only reply one time and provide no details and no followups.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2 set of kids cups on 12/31/24 for $20.10. I received the package on 01/06/25 but in the box was printer food for a 3D printer. I called customer service and she explained they share warehouse space with other companies and the mistake was theirs so she would send out a replacement order that day. I havent received the item. Placed order Order #****** on January 2nd. Received an email January 3rd that it was processed. I have emailed customer service 3 times, and left 1 voicemail asking for tracking information. It is now January 10th and I have been unable to get any information on where my order is. After looking into this, it appears that several customers place replacement orders and dont receive them.Business Response

Definitely a terrible company. Product defective. Their no hassle return policy doesnt include used items, but yet its no hassle. And they were super rude when I talked to them on the phone. On 12/3/23, I purchased 4 Beacon Insulated Bottles, 20 oz. I received the items on 12/7/23 and within the first day of use, one of the handles on the bottles broke on the side. After another day or so, the other handle on a different bottle broke at the same exact location the first one did. I put in a request for replacement handles and was told they could send me replacement handles, but they would be a different color. I then requested a refund at that point because who wants to have a different color handle when clearly the items were defective. I havent even had these products for a month and already two of the four handles broke within the first day of use. I submitted a request for refund on their website and was told I would hear back from them within 2 business days but have havent heard from them. I then sent them an email regarding the above request, but no answer. I even replied to **** the Consumer Relations Coordinator regarding getting a refund but no reply from her as well. After not hearing back from them, I called and spoke to a male. He was really rude and told me the no hassle return policy doesnt include items that have been used. That makes no sense as no hassle means no hassle. The website does not mention any return restrictions on used items. It simply states no hassle returns. *** disputed the charge with my card company and have received a credit for the purchase. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR DRINKWARE. The customer service is super rude, and they do not care about you as a customer. They are a complete rip off.Business Response

Zak Designs has successfully been in business for almost 50 years Such success rests on great products and great customer service. Unfortunately this consumer feels that we did not meet her expectations, which we do not take lightly. Our return policy is truly a no hassle policy within the first 30 days. A consumer can return a product for any, or no, reason in that time period. It appears that a communication breakdown occurred in this instance, which has been addressed. This consumer contacted Zak Designs from multiple sources to process her claim and that led to some of the confusion. Ultimately the consumer challenged the charge with her credit card company, and we did not challenge that effort. These are opportunities for companies to improve, learn, and be better moving forward. Hopefully this customer will give us another chance.Initial Complaint

I placed an order on 8/20/2023. Order number *****. This was all purchased through zak.com The 2 frozen cups and the Bluey Water bottle completely leak.l, they are unusable. The Bluey Water bottle design is almost completely off as well. I used the website to contact about my issues on 10/7. I recieved a confirmation email saying they recieved my email and I would be contacted within 48 hours. Today I contacted the company by phone. I was told I was a lair that I never submitted anything and the representative laughed at me. I asked for a supervisor and she refused. I want my money back.Business Response
