I went to a coin counter today to get my coins in a coupon form so I didnt have to get a fee, get to the machine no where does it give an option for coupon besides a slide show of options that doesnt look clickable, so I just click the count coins option and after counting them it just prints out a paper saying to cash it out at the register. 0 double checks making sure you want to lose 12% of your coins this is ridiculous, Im lucky I only had $100 and lost $12 but Im furious as theres nothing the poor lady could do just said it wasnt their machine, honestly I would rather have my coins than lose such a big chunk of money

The Coinstar is the worst company. They take more coins from you. Once your receipt is damaged they tell to go the store in which Coinstar is inside they will give a ref#. They waste your time and forget ever getting your money if your receipt is ruined. This company customer service is very unprofessional

I used coinstar at ********* store. 200 dollars of my money went down a broken hole in machine. Store manager advised me to reach in the hole and try to get it out. Which is not possible. It's been over a month and coinstar said it will take another 3 weeks. I feel like paid coinstar to take my money and I have to wait until they feel I need to get it back

Today 2/6/23 I used the machine at Stop & Shop in Merrick Mall 11566.
The touch screen required several touches each time to activate the screens, The first screen I saw was the acceptance screen. After depositing the coins I expected a screen for an E Gift Card selection which did not appear. I brought the receipt to the manager and they could only provide the cash. I went back to the machine and called the company and after a long discussion and numerous waiting times they said they couldn't help me there was no way to correct the issue to get an E card and I was charged the fee.

We took 2 jars today 1 extra large full to the rim to overflowing and one smaller one. We left with a little over $400- WAY LESS THAN it shouldve been considering what weve received in times past with far less coins. There is no way this is accurate. NO WAY!! And then on top of that they take $0.25 PLUS ****% on what your total is. This option is now a RIP OFF and we wont be doing it again.

I put in over ****** in change; mostly quarters. I collect coins and count them accurately writing down what is counted. The coinstar machine at a business in ******* ripped me off in a dollar amount of $52. and some change. The business employee opened the machine to see if there was a problem ONLY and the machine was overflowing with coins and needed serviced. The employee locked the machine and advised me to call the phone number listed so I did this. It took over an hour on the phone about 3 months ago. I received an e-mail 2 days ago saying that their "audit" does not support their claim. I don't expect to get my money back but I wanted others to know that they should definitely not use COINSTAR machines. You would think that the founder of this machine; *********************, who attended **** and ******** Universities would care how this affects people who are being cheated by his machines. The ones who manage these and are supposed to maintain them are lacking in their responsibilities and most likely are pocketing what they can get away with. CONSUMERS BEWARE.

Please do reach back out to us if there is anything else we can help you with.

Thank you for your response. My report of what occurred was to encourage change and accuracy in the way the Coinstar machines are maintained. The coinstar machine I used was most certainly overflowing with coins on the floor inside the machine. The upkeep on the Coinstar machine that I used was in dire need of maintenance. I believe I stated a $52.00 amount in my review and am willing to admit an error. I was short $49.00 and some change. Again, thank you for your response.

Thank you for your feedback. The fee for exchanging coins to cash in the location you used is ****% plus a .************* transaction fee. We are sorry for any confusion here. Fees for coin counting are clearly displayed on the Terms and Conditions screen on the Coinstar kiosk, which must be accepted before any coins are deposited. The standard fees are also listed on coinstar.com. When you complete your transaction at the kiosk, your voucher will show the amount deducted for the processing fee.Did you know many of our kiosks have the opportunity for you to pay NO FEEs to turn your coin into eGiftCards. Depending on the kiosk, you could get eGiftCards for brands such as Amazon, ***************** Apple (among many others) in exchange for your coins.

I went to the coin star machine in ******* in ******** ** the machine froze after accepting all of my change but wouldn't process a receipt. I called the 1-800-number on the machine and the lady on the phone informed me that their machines were their top priority not the customer. She also informed me that their wasn't anything that they could do but send a technician out who would retrieve my coins and rerun them through the machine and print my receipt then but couldn't tell me at time or date or even how long it would take. So I politely asked for my change to be returned to me instead because likely by the time the technician came out I would no likely be in need of the money to which they informed me that they would not give me my coins back they would still charge a service fee because I had agreed to the service fee before I ever put my coins into the machine. So not only did I not get money for my change instantly they would still keep my change and change the fee but couldn't give me any time line of when I would receive it. They had no problem telling me that their customers are not there top priority. So I am going to write a review every where I can and tell anyone and everyone that I can what exactly their priorities are and how they treat the customers that pay them. It is a true disgrace how these companies are ran. All they gave me was lie after lie. They actually said that they would have to rerun my coins through the machine and then said that they would not just let the technician give me my change back that they have no way of retrieving the coins once they were in the machine.

My wife used the Coinstar Machine located at **************************************************************** to redeem over $80 in change. The receipt she received for my exchange did not list an expiration date or any indicator that it could not be redeemed later. She came home due to the line being excessively long. I brought the receipt for my money back to the store the following day, and the store said that they would not honor it. The owner of the Coinstar machine told ********************* staff that they did not like having them redeemed later than the day the receipt was issued, and taped a small sign to the side of the machine stating that they would not honor the receipts after the day they were issued. This is not reflected on the receipt, it is not mentioned anywhere in Coinstars terms of service, and appears to have been arbitrarily decided by the Coinstar machine owner in order to s**** people out of their money. I argued with the store employees that there is no expiration date list on the receipt, and arbitrarily posting a sign does not invalidate my receipt or what I am owed. The store had every ability to honor the receipt, and cashed it after I made a scene. There was nothing preventing them from honoring the receipt beyond the machine owner deciding he wanted to steal my money. Dont trust Coinstar. Their machines already do bad counts and steal your money, now they are just stealing your money outright. F*** Coinstar and f*** *********************.

We're sorry to hear the trouble you had with redeeming your cash voucher. The voucher does not have an expiration date on it, you are correct. It should have been cashed, even the day after. The recommendation is to cash the voucher on the date of receipt however we do understand things happen which can prevent this from happening. It sounds like there was miss communication which caused added trouble with receiving the funds. If ever this happens, our customers can give us a call at ************** and our customer service team is happy to help.
