Back in 2018, a friend referred me to find out more about Events and Adventures that was located in a **********,**. They required that you make an appointment to talk to a rep, to find out what the program was about, with an added bit of sign up and youll have access to all information and can cancel within the next 7 days.So i set my appointment date and time, went to the appointment and had to fill out my info first, in order to move forward. After i gave my personal info, i was shown a video slideshow, and given some brochures to take home, while still being told that i could cancel within 7 days. The next day, i decided that this program wasnt for me and i had started a long list of calls to the office to cancel my personal account. No one answered my calls and no one ever called me back when i left numerous voicemails. During the weekdays, i would call on my breaks, rush back to the office during lunches and after i got out of work and the doors were always locked and no one seemed available. Lo and behold, the 7 day trial was up and no one still has called me but i noticed their $3000 charge was put on my credit, when *** never participated in any of the program.I feel this was fraudulent, wrong and not sure if thats how they do business to make money but i am making a compliant and would want this charge removed from my credit report.

I recently moved to a new city, and of course, I'd like to make new connections. I decided to look into E&A since they advertise themselves as a social club. On 11/19/2022 I spoke with ****** from *******. Our meeting was like a job interview: they asked why I was interested in them, what I knew about E&A, etc. Then they proceeded to discuss what to expect events-wise, followed by membership options, the least expensive of which was $2500/year. Who on earth has the ability to pay over $200/month on this, when several events have additional costs on top of that?! The representative then used manipulative business tactics to prey on my insecurities: "Oh, don't let the prices discourage you", "don't you want to meet your soulmate?", etc. The main reason I looked into them was to meet *friends*, not specifically a romantic partner, which they emphasize. Eventually I decided to sign up and put down $250, along with giving personal info like my SSN (they claim to do background checks to make sure you're not a convicted felon). The next day, I read some additional reviews about how others had been scammed out of their money and had no luck meeting anyone, so I decided to immediately cancel my membership. Also, their cancellation policy states that you must cancel within 3 days of initiating your membership, PLUS mailing a certified letter stating that you would like to cancel. When I emailed ****** about cancelling, they CALLED (I didn't answer), then TEXTED me about meeting their friend who wanted to meet me. When I reiterated that I wanted to cancel, they continued to prey on my emotions hoping I would change my mind. But I did not. Eventually, they very childishly responded to my email, apparently disappointed about losing their commission. (Oh, and I did get my money back, though they still have my SSN... I still hope I don't fall victim to identity theft). Do not waste your energy on these scammers! You're better off looking into free groups on ******** or Meetup.

I joined this group thinking it would be a fun way to meet people my age. They assure you that there are hundreds of people and all within my age range of *****. They also push you to sign up and then you have to pay the money for the events as well. I then tried to just go with a year on my contract and they charged me for two years. Once you sign that contract you better be ready to pay the whole amount. I tried to reason with them saying I lived three hours away and every event was in *******. They then sent it to collections, which they ended up winning there. I am just warning anyone who is thinking about doing this. These events and adventures are all over the world and the owner makes a fortune off of your dime. Take your time reading the contract. Try to take it home. They tell you they go through a screening process and you are lucky if you get picked. They pick everyone and all they do is want your money.

I'm really glad I took a leap of faith to join Events & Adventures in ******. Remember, most people only write reviews when it's time to complain about something & forget to write when all is well. Case in point: I just now thought to write a review after nearly 2 years of membership. This group seriously changed my life for the better. Also, yes it's not cheap, but when was anything worth having ever cheap? IMO it's worth every single ********* don't know about you, but broke people aren't who I want as part of my crew anyway. :)Before E&A, my friends were always "busy" whenever I wanted to do something. Now, I just show up to an event & have people to do it with waiting & ready to go. I've met the closest girl friend I've had since maybe college through E&A.The only areas of improvement I'd like to see are more new events rather than repeats like axe throwing & whirlyball, but at least there's lots of other cool events to choose from! I also wish there were more men, it's a largely female-dominated group so not a great environment for dating lol. But if you're just looking for a new friend group I highly recommend! :)

I signed up for events and adventures a couple weeks after splitting from a boyfriend. When I did the interview they played on my insecurities. Telling me that this was a dating company. The person that interviewed me told me she found her husband there. I actually was in tears when I was talking to this person and definitely not in the right state of mind which they knew. I signed up paid the money and went to several events to only find out that it was not how they explained. Every event was filled with men in their fifties. Nobody remotely around my age of 35. Not only that I had to pay a fee to events and adventures but I had to also pay to go to every event. It made no sense it reminds me of those timeshare contracts. I voiced my concerns to the coordinator at the event and she said that they need to stop pushing this as a dating site because it is not. I tried to reach out several times after canceling my service to talk about payment. I work a lot and don't have time to keep calling a company. They did call me back a few times but as I said I was at work but every time I called them back nobody ever answered. I also sent them emails which never got replied to. Eventually they sent me to a 3rd party collection site. The site started calling me and was super rude over the phone. I tried to call events and adventures back and they told me they washed their hands of it and I would have to deal with this company. Both companies were super rude back-and-forth to me. I understand that I signed a contract and they got me so I was willing to pay for it. They gave me a $1100 settlement which I said was fine I would pay. They told me I would have to pay in 5 payments which I could not afford. I told them I could do 7 payments and they would not hear it. I don't understand why I can't do the few more payments so they can get their money? They rather I not be able to afford to a pay rent just to pay them in 5 payments. I will be putting them on blast as an influencer.

I'd give zero if possible. I'm beyond frustrated. I signed up for the overpriced service thinking it would help me to get out of my shell. Instead I was met with a list of events that cost additional fees on top of the $150+ per month membership cost. What am I paying for exactly? I've not been able to get a hold of my events manager at all, and upon hearing that she "saves spots in the good events for newbies", I was left with a feeling that this company will prioritize you until you're beyond the cancellation date, then lean on the contract to force you to pay for the service even after you've decided not to participate. This is a company that treats you like a number and doesn't work with you to find what you're looking for, even though that's what's explicitly listed in the company's mission statement. Don't waste your time, money, or energy on these scammers. Please learn from my mistake.

I am a USMC disabled Veteran that recently attended the Halloween Party 2022 only for it to end with the Senior Events Manager *************************** threatening me for just trying to have a conversation with him all while a few of his co-workers were witnesses. His exact words were "Get this guy away from me before I mess him up." What kind of person does that to a Veteran for no reason? If this is how they treat their Veterans, then how do you think they are going to others? I am no longer allowing them to take my money if this is what I am going to get. I was contacted by their admin after I changed my payment method to which I voiced my complaint only to be met with standard scripted responses. They didn't even address my complaint. They just said they would send my cancellation request to their accounting department to which they told me either I still had to pay each month, or that I would have to pay $2000 to break my contract. They still didn't even address the issue. I am between a rock and a hard place simply because they are trying to make me pay, but I cannot go to any of the events since that particular Senior Events Manager hosts pretty much all of them.

I purchased this membership and paid over $2000. I went to one event and it just wasnt my thing a bunch of nerds standing around that didnt even know how to make eye contact. I sent an email notifying of my cancellation. I got a response back. About a month later they responded to me with the resolutions department that they could not refund the money. I argued to no avail. They tried to talk me into coming to more events and I audit one other and its not my thing I demanded my money. They refuse to refund. I believe they are selling lies and I must protect other consumers Ive seen other posts about this group equally as bad. They are stealing from the public it must be stopped class action lawsuit should be coming down the pike

I've been an E&A member since 2017 and overall have had a positive experience. I've done a lot of fun things around town that I probably would have never done if it weren't for E&A. Some of my friends said they could organize some of these events on their own, but they never did! You are paying E&A to organize a fun event with singles, so you're saving time coordinating the event with your friends, and you know that everyone in the group is single. From my experience, it is a very diverse group with different ages, professions, personalities, looks and experiences. You have to be open minded when you join this group. You can't join it with the intention of finding your soul mate, although it could happen. If you're going to join, then join with the intent to get out of the house, try new things, and meet new people. I've met a few people that I do things with outside of E&A. The only reason why it's not 5 stars for me is because I wish there were more guys that were my type to date out of it. The membership is worth it if you go to events often and put yourself out there with meeting people.
