Service was started in January for approximately 600 dollars a month, since that time any information received has been spam, fraudulent, or of no service or contact. Service started with **** and found to be misleading and false, supposed leads have all been spam, bots, or disconnected numbers, or identity theft individuals. Contact customer service and was basically called a liar by *** along with him getting into a argument with me. Called again talked to ******** in customer service and said she would have a manager call me, no call ever came. Called again, talked with ***************************, stated he was not going to do anything. I explained they were selling a dishonest service over the phone and being fraudulent in the marketing which is violating the *** along with areas in the State of ********** where the Attorney General can act, he responded that it was not his problem. I continued to request the service be dropped and not further deductions which he said was not going to happen. The individuals are fraudulent, yes they provide what they call is leads but they are people on do not call list, identity theft victims, disconnected numbers, spam, and individuals that give false information. In no manner what so ever are any of these verified. This company is scamming individuals and I request that any action they are involved in with me to have them cancel the account and discontinue any revenues from me, they are no longer authorized to take any monies from me.

The customer signed a six month contract with a subscription start date of February 1, 2024. The Network Boost package the Customer agreed to includes exclusive leads generated through social media, a lead capture website with IDX integration, and a CRM with marketing automation that helps follow up, nurtures leads, and grades into categories. Additionally, leads generated through the ********************* are exclusive, meaning the lead belongs to the customer it was generated for and it is not generated for any other Market Leader customer.

I am rejecting this response because:  The business is correct in the fact that I activated an account, with *************************.  I specifically asked her if customers were vetted by ********************** and was assured yes they were specific to my criteria and leads were generated on that.  After having this account for a few months I have found that these supposed vetted generated leads are nothing more that, identity theft victims, disconnected phone numbers, fabricated individuals who have not desire for any real estate needs, robo call related numbers, and individuals who are actually on the do not call list.  No only are these supposed leads "not vetted" they are false and fabricated, which I have saved numerous numbers that I can provide on those.  Further I directly asked *************************, as I was fully aware of previous contacts with lead generation companies of false presentations, if I was could cancel anytime and stop my subscription to Market Leader which she assured me several times that I could cancel at any time and discontinue service, a complete fabrication at this point.  I have attempted to discontinue and cancel service due to the lack of cooperation and validation of the contact as I was described, in do so I made contact with a customer service supervisor named *** who was very rude, threatening, and told me that I was not allowed to have his last name nor even talk to a supervisor above him.  I recontacted ********************* who again refused any and all attempts to discontinue my services at which time I asked for a supervisor due to his lack of cooperation and rudeness at which time I was told he was the top person.  I requested a directors or VP's name and he said he was not giving any information out and the he was the top person.  My efforts have been totally responded to negatively even after I clarified three different times with **** that I could cancel the contract if I found that it was not credible.  Since filing this complaint I have reviewed several sites that give reviews on this company and have found a very large number of negative post on this company and individuals in it, along with the negative post on the BBB.  At this time the resolution that I am seeking is the cancellation of this contact immediately and for Market Leader to remove me from their files.

    Sincerely,

    *****************

Market Leader contracts state the subscription start date and outline how long contracts are for to help with explaining terms to customers. The leads generated through the ********************* are exclusive to the customers they are generated for.

The customer was not pleased with the level of service received initially, but was able to connect with a senior Market Leader team member on May 1, 2024 who was able to assist customer properly. Customer has agreed to review account in June with the same Market Leader team member for his July cancellation.

I am rejecting this response because: As with other communications it is fabricated what took place, the business would not cancel the deductions from my account even when told repeatedly not to take monies.  I explained that the original account executive said this could be cancelled anytime, and again as you can see it is fabricated.  *********** is not acting in good faith and I have a combined list of things they call leads when in fact they are not vetted or true leads, these are disconnected phone numbers, false individuals, and made up emails.  Look at many of the reviews, this is a common complaint.  I want this account cancelled and my monies returned or no longer removed from my account period this is the only acceptable response..

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:  The business continues to scam people with false information, yes the leads are exclusive, however exclusive does not mean fraud marketing.  This business represents itself falsely and does not qualify leads, it does not relay back to the do not call list, which ultimately puts the weight on the consumer for further action from someone that is called on the do not call list.  The process starts with the sales team making false promises and acting with ethical interest in the consumers behave.  I have read numerous reviews since filing the complaint and have found dozens of individuals are claiming the same problem, which in itself should easily show what type of misleading and unethical activity is taking place in the business.  I received 0 creditable leads from this company and therefore due to the misleading activity on their part and the lack of credibility I request a full refund.

    Sincerely,

The Network Boost package the Customer agreed to includes exclusive leads generated through social media, a lead capture website with IDX integration, and a CRM with marketing automation that helps follow up, nurtures leads, and grades into categories. Additionally, leads generated through the ********************* are exclusive, meaning the lead belongs to the customer it was generated for and it is not generated for any other Market Leader customer. Customer accepted an online agreement noting monthly subscription cost, six-month term, monthly lead guarantee and subscription areas. Lead subscription services are from consumers who proactively provide their contact information for access to MLS listings and are responding to a specific listing for possible more information. Market Leader creates ads specifically designed for the customer on social media platforms, consumers who click on the ad have the option to submit their auto populated contact information from the social media platform. Consumers who submit their contact information for more information about a property and/or opportunity to view all homes on the market become a lead and are routed to the customers contact management system.

Customer called ********************** on April 9th and spoke with multiple representatives at Market Leader and was advised about his contract notice. Market Leaders ****************** team was willing to switch customer to another program without extending the contract, but the customer declined. Additionally, **********************'s ****************** team offered to assist with coaching on lead follow up, and explained the formal account review process to assist with reviewing the leads delivered, but the customer declined this offer as well.

I am rejecting this response because: I rejected there offer as it did not comply with the original offer and conversation with their sales ***.  When I tried numerous times to call the ***resentative about the offer, she refused my calls and would not return a call.  I wanted the contract terminated and my money returned as it did not produce the leads nor generate what they were selling.  This is a problem with numerous customers which can easily be seen with reviews of the business.  I continue to request my monies refunded as the product described by the sales *** was not produced or ***resented in the manner she presented.

I am rejecting this response because: They are correct it was an option however they were advised that it was the same thing, unverified leads, regenerated responses from ********, and bots.  They refused to acknowledge this and continued to want to upgrade instead of fixing the problem.  A demand for money return was asked at which time they ignored and continued to try and upgrade, not even considering the promises made by their account executive when the program was initially offered.  This is a complete scam of a company with false advertising.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Market Leader, Inc., a real estate lead generation company, for engaging in fraudulent practices and refusing to cancel my contract despite my request. My experience with Market Leader has been thoroughly disappointing, dishonest, and financially detrimental. On January 16th, 2024, I entered into a 6-month contract with Market Leader, Inc. for lead generation services. My account managers ***********************/*************************** did not provide me with a copy of my contract. However, the leads provided by Market Leader were consistently of poor quality, with many having unverified contact information such as incorrect names, phone numbers and email addresses. Despite my repeated attempts to address these issues with my account manager on February 19th, 2024, and March 18th, 2024, the company failed to rectify the situation or provide satisfactory solutions. Furthermore, I informed my newly assigned account manager on March 25th, 2024, that I would no longer be utilizing Market Leader's services due to the company's dishonest practices and the substandard quality of leads provided. As of March 31st, 2024, I ceased practicing real estate altogether and therefore have no need for lead generation services. Despite my clear intent to terminate the contract and cease all services, Market Leader, Inc. has adamantly refused to cancel my contract. This refusal is both unethical and financially burdensome, as I am being held liable for a service that I no longer require or utilize. I am deeply disappointed by Market Leader's lack of integrity and disregard for customer satisfaction, and it appears that my experience is in line with the other 77 complaints filed to the BBB by other victims within the last 12 months. As a consumer, I deserve to be treated fairly and honestly, which has not been the case with Market Leader, Inc. I respectfully request that the ************************ and the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and take appropriate action against Market Leader to ensure that other consumers are not similarly exploited. I have also contacted and filed complaints with several other government agencies on April 4th, 2024.

Customer is eligible for cancellation after July 1, 2024.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Market Leader, a so-called marketing service that promised scrubbed leads and delivered nothing but an automated drip campaign and leads whose "verification process" was five text entry fields on a website. What was actually happened:False Promises: During the sales pitch, account executive ***************** with Market Leader assured me of verified leads with working phone numbers and genuine interest in purchasing a home. However, what I received were ******** leads with fake phone numbers and email addresses that led absolutely nowhere. It was clear that the leads provided were nothing but a ploy to lure unsuspecting clients into their web of deceit.Unethical Practices: Instead of following through on their promises, Market Leader engaged in highly unethical practices. They marketed to ******** users using expired property listings and properties that closed years ago. This not only shows a complete lack of integrity but also demonstrates their willingness to deceive clients for their own gain.Nonexistent ***************** When I attempted to address my concerns and reduce the service level, Market Leader's account **** **************************** was completely unable to perform in a reduction of service that was sold as an option during the sales meeting. Despite assurances from the sales representative that adjusting the service level was possible, I was met with a wall of resistance and refusal to cooperate. It's clear that once they have your money, they have no interest in providing any level of support or assistance. They are completely unwilling to work to find a compromise solution.Questionable Legality: The level of deception and refusal to cooperate has left me questioning the legality of Market Leader's contracts. I am now forced to seek legal counsel to determine if I have any recourse against this scam of a company.

I purchased real estate leads from a marketing company. I was told by their sales representative who called me that they are accredited with the BBB on the initial call with them. I was promised at the time of purchase that I would be fully refunded if I was dissatisfied with the service in any way. When I reached out for the refund 2 days later. I was turned down and the response from the company was that I needed to keep the service for 1 year and I would be refunded a technology fee not the total I paid. This was never disclosed at the time of purchase or I would not have purchased the service. The leads are constantly turned off by the provider. The contact management system they require me to use is poor at best and does not always save my updates. This is incredibly frustrating. If Zillow stopped sending leads after charging consumers for them they would be sued. So why is this company getting away with it? They also use 2 different company names which is very confusing. Pay per closing and Market Maker. The leads I have been able to get in touch with are confused about how I received their information and have no idea why I am calling. The quality is terrible. Most of the phone numbers don't work. This is a scam.

We were told BEFORE we signed a contract that market leader provides us with the ability to text clients. After we signed we found out the only way you can text clients is by buying additional leads from market leader. They even have a recording of the sales person telling us this. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my experience with Market Leader. On February 7th, I was approached by a sales representative from Market Leader who pitched their services, emphasizing a promotion and guaranteed leads for real estate agents. Despite their assurances, I became increasingly dissatisfied with their services and sought to terminate our agreement on February 16th. Market leader mentioned it was a 6 month agreement After conducting thorough research, I discovered numerous negative reviews about Market Leader, raising doubts about the legitimacy of their promised leads and the quality of their service. Despite expressing my desire to discontinue their services and submitting a cancellation request, Market Leader has refused to honor my request and continues to pursue charges.Furthermore, Market Leader's relentless attempts to obtain a signature from my broker, despite her refusal, is unacceptable. I have explicitly informed Market Leader that my broker will not be signing the requested documents, yet they persist in contacting her, causing unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. I have submitted the cancellation form for Market Leader's services, but I have yet to receive any acknowledgment or response from them regarding this matter. Instead, I continue to receive communications regarding charges and requests for my broker's signature for IDX. In summary, my experience with Market Leader has been far from satisfactory. Their failure to deliver on their promises, coupled with their disregard for my cancellation request and persistent harassment regarding the signature for IDX, has resulted in a significant loss of trust and confidence in their services. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter promptly and ensuring that my cancellation request is honored without further delay and that I will not continue to be charged.

I was contacted by Market leader and I updated my payment method to pay the outstanding bill, I have an email sent to me yesterday that by updating my payment information, I will not start a brand new term. However, I am really overwhelmed as I have told them various times that I wanted to discontinue their services and they won't let me out of the contract. The service and leads they promised were never provided. The only leads I got were my own listings of houses I already had for sale. I gave a written notice that I would finish out my agreed upon six month contract, but once that six months was up I wanted to cancel the service. On the 7th month I was charged another $550 which we protested and I cancelled my credit card. Now they are sending threatening emails that they are going to send me to collections if I do not pay the $550 they think I owe. This company is a complete scam.

With the team adjustments, this account was missed sending the cancellation documents in the proper timing for the customer to be cancelled effective end of February. Market Leader is adjusting this account and removing this customer from the collection outreaches they have been receiving, and cancelling account effective end of February 2024.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 03/22/2024

My bank is disputing February 1 payment. January 1 should have been the last payment made to them. I do not want Market Leader to argue with my bank about this dispute.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/22/2024

Per the terms and conditions, Market Leader required submission of the cancellation/change request form as written documentation 30 days in advance of cancellation date. Customer's request for cancellation was not received within that timeframe.

I purchased Market Leader in December with hopes it would jumpstart my business as a realtor. I was wrong. *************** not only pressured me to sign up for this six month subscription, but promised things that I would find out not to be true. After about three weeks of using Market Leader's network boost and CRM, I found out how bad it was. *************** told me that I would be receiving quality buyer and seller leads that were serious in my area. Guess what I got? NO seller leads, and the 1% of people that were real were renters. I then contacted my account manager, ************************* to ask why I was not getting seller leads, quality buyer leads, and not able to customize my ads. Oh, and also why I was not able to run ads on all properties in my MLS as promised by ***************. When I expressed my concerns, I was told by ******, who did not pick up the phone until the 4th time trying to contact her, that the service "doesn't work like that." On top of that, it took me multiple attempts to reach someone each time I called ML. I was promised so much and they did not deliver 80% of it. I then took it upon myself to contact my bank, and they deemed that the "contract" they had was void due to a breach, for they did not fulfill their end of it. I put "contract" in quotes because the validity of it is extremely subpar. I have discussed with multiple attorneys that I have worked with that this disinformation and misleading advertising is illegal under ************************ regulations. Because of this as well as my bank giving me advice, I will no longer be paying Market Leader, for the contract was breached and therefore has no bound agreement. Also, to those who try to make it to the end of their "contract" and cancel instead, it is illegal for a company or merchant operating with a subscription to make it difficult to cancel, no matter what "contract" is present. Cancel my account and take down my website immediately and do not threaten me. I do not want my name attached to ML.

Customer called ********************** on February 2, 2024 to cancel because he was going to start school soon, and wouldn't have time to work his leads. Customer is in month three of his subscription, and his account has been suspended due to non payment.

I am rejecting this response because: That has absolutely nothing to do with the "leads" I was promised. The leads were not quality ones, and I was lied to when signing up. Yes, I am a student; therefore, that makes the situation even worse. I was going to use real estate to pay for my education and thought Market Leader would be a good option to grow my business. However, this was not the case. I was lied to and promised things that have not even been delivered even to a fraction. It was disinformation and false advertising. It was a scam. I do not have access to my entire MLS as promised, I cannot edit the ads run, and there are no quality leads. No seller leads as promised either, and the buyer leads were false information much of the time. It took numerous attempts of contacting anyone at Market Leader before someone picked up. The service is awful. As stated before, I have spoken to my bank and went with their advice. I spoke with lawyers I work with and have taken their advice. The "contract" was breached by Market Leader. My experience with Market Leader has been terrible. I do not want to continue to do business with Market Leader. I do not care about a refund like many people do, just cancel my account and take down my website along with anything to do with it. I want nothing to do with this company.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************

Now they are saying they will send $539 to collections if I dont pay up by the end of the month. No response to my rejection and again, it took 12 calls to reach them initially when this all began. Market Leader has been the worst experience in my life. I, again, wish to end my business with them and would like my website and account taken down. Stop asking me for money. You will not get another dime of my money. The contract was breached, and I was lied to. This has gotten out  of hand. Again, I have consulted with my bank and lawyers. This is illegal and is terrible business practice.

    Customer Answer

Simply END the so-called contract! I am young and have been preyed upon and taken advantage of. This has gotten out of hand and has become a hardship. END the contract.

    Customer Answer

In the email sent to me threatening collections, I was told to call my account manager, *************************, between 5 AM and 2 PM PST. I called three times at 7 AM PST to try to cancel my account yet again and no one picked up. This is a testimony to their customer service. As stated in my previous statement, I have been taken advantage of and mislead. My bank told me that they could only proved that I logged in. No contract mentioned. I am broke because of this and now have to figure out how to pay for my college another way. This, again, has been the worst experience in my life and I, yet again, want my account canceled and my website taken down. Cancel my account and take my website down. END it. End everything I have to do with this company.

    Customer Answer

Also, before Market Leader tries to say I used anything this month, when I signed in, I was met with a message that blocked the ability to use the account, so I did not use anything. In fact, I have not completed any action on the account since late January. When they told my bank I was using it, I was simply making sure they did not have my info. When I logged in this month, I was making sure I did not have access to anything. My account is suspended and I want it to be canceled. I will be telling agents I know and my broker to spread the news to avoid this company at all costs if my account is not canceled and everything along with it. Cancel my account and take my website down now. Again, END everything I have to do with this company. NOW!

I am rejecting this response because: You did not address the problem and have not respected me throughout this whole process. And no, no one reached out to me to adjust anything. I dont want that either. I want you to END the contract that you think you have. I have been receiving threatening emails and calls from you. Thats it. Market Leader is a scam company and I will be letting everyone know that. You have breached contract, and will not be paid by me ever again. END the contract! Do not tell me when I am eligible for cancellation to your liking. You have treated me poorly and have shown what you really care about. I am in a poor financial state and am young. I have nothing to give. Youve taken it all. END the contract!

    Sincerely,

I started a subscription with Market Leader in January and signed a 6 month contract for $550 a month with the promise that a minimum of 30 qualified leads would come through monthly. They said that people had to go through a process to make sure their numbers are real and not fake. This has not been the case AT ALL. 90% of the contacts it has given me have been numbers that dont work or bots. I called trying to cancel but they said its impossible to cancel and theyll take me to collections if I dont pay them. This is a lot of money and I cant be throwing my money into a trash bin of numbers that dont go anywhere. *** expressed my dissapointment and frustration with this company and *** found a lot of Realtors who feel the same as I do.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did talk to the customer support team when they tried to reach me. and i told them the exact same thing i told the BBB. That i signed up to a contract under the terms that market leader would provide quality verified leads. and that did not happen. They did not uphold their end of the contract. so all i want it for it to be voided and to cancel my account. because now im being told they sent my account to collections. I just please need someone to vouch for me and just end all of this. I just want my account cancelled. I just dont want to lose another dollar to this scam company.
