      I am rejecting this response because: I have not been contacted due to the complaint. I've made many calls regarding issues and I have not had any calls back. I was told to talk to the loan department and they seem to be unable to get a hold of. I've called and left messages twice to see if we can come to a resolution as I am quite literally going broke trying to pay the close to $600 a month in credit card, maintenance fee and loan payments ALL created through them. I would appreciate a call with hopes of a response.

We are drowning and can't afford to pay over $600 a month for credit card, loan and maintenance fees. This company should be regulated and should have much higher restrictions on the wording and aggression that nearly forces you to agree to insane amounts of money. I feel truly fooled. This has set me back more than I can manage at this time as I am a caregiver for my mother who suffered from a stroke and has MS. **** I have called them to explain my hardship, they told me to quit paying the maintenance fee but they couldn't do much more due to the loan I have out with them. They also told us we would pay less and have more if we signed up for Platinum Membership, however with all the mail and wording, we are confused because it says our Platinum Membership is expiring, yet they tell us its not. Everything is meant to confuse you, until you make a decision you extremely regret. Can email pictures.

      This matter has been resolved as a result of the complaint ***************** reached out directly and assured me the property had been reached out to, the charges have been dropped, and he will be doing a training on service animals at the management summit this year. 

      I am very satisfied with the action the business is taking to resolve this matter. 

      s rude and unhelpful stating that we needed special clearance or would have been put in a special room with an animal, per the *** this is not allowed. She recommended I contact hotels.com and ************** Vacation Internationale Inc.Hotels.com was just the advertiser and booking agent, had no authority to ***** a refund. Vacations internationale **** Stated my we were charged a pet fee for my service animal and that a supervisor would follow up this week. I'm waiting on that response but wanted to share this experience with the BBB as other reviews have shown this is a pattern at this property. Additionally I feel targeted and embarrassed by the situation. This business is operating outside of *** guidelines for service animals and discriminating against disabled individuals in doing so.

      Two years ago, I purchased a timeshare with Vacation International, believing it would be an efficient way of vacationing. The sales pitch was high-pressure, emphasizing benefits like open availability and investment potential through renting the property. However, after taking out a 12-year loan, I realized the promises were empty.I attempted to reserve rooms through the timeshare, but availability was scarce, and the quality of resorts was not as advertised. I attended another review seeking to decrease points and costs, or possibly sell it back, but was told it wasn't possible at the time. They convinced me to renew my account to make changes, but it only increased the overall cost without providing significant benefits.In hindsight, I believe I was taken advantage of because I didn't fully understand the system or my ************, I feel trapped in a costly and unfulfilling timeshare agreement.

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We have had several interactions with ****************** and have tried to clarify the points he made above. His loan was never 12 years. His contract shows his ownership is for 12 years; his loan was set up for 120 months (10 years) which was to get a comfortable monthly payment at the time of sale. 

      We have encouraged ****************** to call for an owner education and to use the program; as we travel thousands of people a year with our program that has been in business for 49 years. 

      We have offered a release option to ******************, as well as a loan modification, both of which he did not want to take; so just like any other financial obligation he is aware of the consequences if he wants to default on his loan.

      ********************* what ultimately lead to a mistake we both failed to back away from. The news we got was, WOW! Great credit, were going to knock it out with this ONE low monthly payment + yearly maintenance fee! In between signing papers and conversations, what was missed in discussion was the down payment was going to incur an additional fee outside of their ONE monthly payment, paying a whole of a lot more than what we were told & expecting. The only communication was regarding the ONE monthly payment fee (+ maintenance fee). Trips arent free trips, everything either comes with a deposit, or some sort of fee.We felt like we were misrepresented, omitting a material fact. Now, there would have been TWO monthly payments made + maintenance fee, had we actually known that, would not have been an option wed choose because excess monthly payments. These tactics are a poor representation of integrity and we dont want to give our money to those who take advantage of others.

      My wife *********************** and I were at a trade show and stopped at a booth. We played a dice roll game and won a trip to **********. We were told we had to attend a timeshare presentation to get our tickets and other incentives. We were told the presentation would last ************************************************************************* a high-pressure sales meeting. Salespeople told us the timeshare was a real estate investment which would increase in value, and which was a tax write-off. We were told the investment could be left to our children and that our children would have to pay the maintenance fees. We were already timeshare owners and were told we did not have enough points to have access to many of the benefits offered by the resort. Salespeople told us the upgrade would give us access to more resorts, earlier check-in times, discounts, unit upgrades and other perks. We were told trades for other resorts would be much easier with the purchase of additional points. We told them several times that we were not interested in making a purchase and did not think we could afford to do so. Salespeople told us we could vacation at any time of the year and that we could easily book accommodation around the world. We felt we had to buy the upgrade to leave. At closing, we were not represented by a real estate agent and no representative of the ********************** was present. We were told maintenance fees would not increase or would increase in only very small increments. We were not told we may have a right to vote on how the fees are used. We later tried to make trades using our points and found the system was very complicated and not easy to use. We could not make reservations during holiday seasons and other peak travel seasons. We are told no accommodation is available when we want to travel. We are now retired and have experienced a decrease in our income. We can no longer afford the escalating costs of the timeshare.

      Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to this complaint. This owner purchased in 2015. They enhanced their purchase in 2016 and 2020. Each purchase it was documented and acknowledged that they had a seven day window to rescind the purchase; we did not hear from them during that time. Our records do not show that these owners called into our Owner Services department to go over their program or to let us know their dissatisfaction. 

      In January 2023, we received information from a scam company called Financial Recovery Advocates LLC which is a known Timeshare Exit Team scam company. The account was 36 days past due and the owners disputed 2 payments with their bank, bringing their account more than 60 days past due. 

      This account was cancelled in January 2023 as a loan default, and nothing further is due to either party on this account.

      I've been a member for 20 years. They instituted a pay to play scheme so that people have to pay extra for "advanced" reservations beyond one year, which is inconsistent with the contract I signed. This is a shady operation. I want my current balance refunded and to end the contract.
