      I received a letter from them on May 30, 2023 posing as the ***** (************* Patent and Trademark Office) citing the need to renew my trademark for $1610. Upon further inspection, the *** (www.pto-**.com) seemed fishy. I Googled their business address and found their rating from the BBB to be an 'F'. Can we get this company shut down so they no longer trick people into giving them money?

      Dear **********,

      In regard to your complaint, we can briefly state the following:

       - Our company provides trademark renewal services on behalf of the client. Any decision made by the client is absolutely voluntary;

       - We only renew the trademark and do not make any changes to its base structure;

       - Our trademark renewal offer clearly states that we do not associate ourselves with the ***** and have never associated ourselves with any other government institution;

       - The client can always ask ** to exclude him/her from our mailing list;

       - Our commission includes all the trademark renewal related state fees. As any other ** entity we pay taxes;

       - If the client decides to waive our service he/she should submit a written request via e-mail. In that case we will cancel the client's signed notice and make a full refund.

       Best regards,

      This law firm continues to send highly deceptive correspondence that falsely impersonates ***************** Patent and Trademark Office and fools people into thinking they must pay this firm in order to keep their registered intellectual property. With this amount of complaints just on BBB, they should be referred to the ********** of ******* for investigation, and any other appropriate authority. They are also using the ** mail to solicit money inter-state. Also, there is no honest explanation that the registration will be changed to their name, why the dates are off, and the correct basis for the charges on what is meant to look like money due.

      Scammers. Their outer envelope is addressed from the "Patent & Trademark Office" with "IMPORTANT - OPEN IMMEDIATELY" in bold red letters. Opening it, you see "Pending Trademark Cancellation" at the top of a very official looking letter with a warning "Your trademark is about to expire" with an expiration date just a couple weeks away. Our service **** isn't due for renewal for years. This is a totally deceptive scam.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I do not believe for one moment that you pulled our records from the *** when generating your physical letter to our firm. It would be an easy thing to get the right date as you did in your electronic reply to the BBB. There is no "error" in what you're doing. You are preying upon the unwitting with a fearful letter, intimating that their trademark protection is about to expire with a fake date, and they need to send the "Patent & Trademark Office" a load of money to renew it. You are scam artists and should be unable to engage in such business practices.
