    RE: 2021 ***** Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES Expedition Sidecar and Leading Link Project: Claim and resolution options I purchased a Brand New ***** Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES motorcycle and a DMC Expedition Motorcycle Sidecar with the "extreme duty frame" option, with installation labor, many other listed sidecar options. The order included a Leading Link motorcycle front wheel system integrated into a complete system to form a Motorcycle Sidecar combination.After three weeks I have discovered multiple design and workmanship issues that make the Rig a high risk to operate, in its current form. These include:Damage to motorcycle wiring harness.Damage to motorcycle frame.Poor workmanship in wire routing, protection.Poor choice of materials, many unacceptable for their expressed application.Cosmetic damage to motorcycle and sidecar.

    The rims needed for ************** to build your wheels were on back order from the manufacture. Once they finally came in as you had been checking with Woodies and got tracking numbers from Woodies after complaining to us that we need to keep a tighter rein on our venders with in 10 minutes of arrival you emailed asking for an ETA on your bike, before we even had time to check them in wanting to know when your bike would be done. We did not have an answer as assembly still needed to be done and we cannot have everyone stand by waiting to work just on your bike and ignoring everyone else. We had to finish the bike we were working on. As you know once we were able to work on your bike, we found that the *** tone rings were not compatible. This is a complex build that had never been done by anyone in the world.  After only a single working day once the *** issue was resolved again on a very complex build we went home for the weekend. We work a 4-day week as such do not work Friday's and as this was Labor Day weekend most employees had plans. You emailed us on Friday, a day we are closed that you would be here Thursday morning to pick up the bike. WE NEVER TOLD YOU TO COME. This gave us only 2 working days to finish your bike, days when we had 2 other customers in town waiting for their sidecars to be installed. When you arrived, we were not done with your bike and told you such. You insisted on taking it anyway but would come back on Monday. You did come back on Monday and told us all was ok, again. WE NEVER TOLD YOU IT WAS DONE, and we had planned on doing more work on your bike that you did not allow us to. We never even had a chance to do a final test ride.

    You were given a refund as we used a different shock then you wanted and would not wait for us to change the shock.

    Having the bike when you planned your vacation was far more important to you then allowing us the time to finish your bike. 

    We offered and have offered to finish the work however as you have gone so far out of your way to bash us online anyplace you can do us as much harm as you can I suspect that there is nothing we could ever do to make you happy. Even if we were to refund your money, which we are not you would still find a way to complain.

    As you have refused to let us take care of this, I consider the matter closed.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    DMC had my brand new bike for nine months, order for sidecar placed 11/23/2022.  After examining and making repairs to the frame mounts and electrical system, it became apparent that no amount of time would have made it possible for them to clean up the horrible workmanship that they did in butchering my bike's frame, electrical system and cosmetics.

    Received an email stating the bike was done, just needed a test drive.  Scheduled a visit and showed up one week later and the bike was not done.  Told that it could not be fixed, that a new front end would have to be made.  After viewing their workmanship, I saw no reason to expect better results with another attempt to build an assembly that was clearly beyond the capabilities of the current staff.

    Picked up the bike and proceeded to discover many more severe problems in the wiring harness, chassis, and cosmetics of a brand new motorcycle over the following three weeks.  The workmanship exhibited on welds, alignment, wiring etc. was truly scary.  I have no interest in having this business ever touch a vehicle that I own, again.

    I have offered to let them buy the rig back at my cost, or issue a full refund for their shoddy work.
