I'm writing this not so much to berate this company but to enlighten others to know your insurance policies. I had no idea about restoration and all it intails. This has been and is chaos for me.This all started in Nov. 2023 with my bathroom having dry rot. After choosing ServiceMaster for the job I'm feeling better about getting the work done in a timely manner. No such luck. Now it's Dec. 6th 2023 and my dishwasher was improperly repaired by unnamed company and leaked ruining my kitchen floor so I had ServiceMaster do the clean-up for my second insurance claim. Which turned out to be a huge job as the linoleum under the laminate flooring had asbestos. So now we are into the holidays and it was my choice to hold off till after January 1st 2024. Then the removal of the asbestos began. Then the freezing weather and ServiceMaster got real busy with other people with frozen and broken pipes I'm guessing. As my calls to the project manager were not being answered. Mind you I had to leave my home during the removal of the asbestos. Now back in my home Jan. 17, 2024. My main bathroom is un usable so 4 adults are sharing a half bathroom. With my insurance company if you have one working toilet you stay in your home. Don't mater you can't take showers. I'm getting no call backs. So I jumped ship and called a contractor to put my home together again. That hasn't turned out well either. It's the end of February 2024 and I'm still sitting in unfinished work. I was able to remove the toilet from the bathtub so showers can be taken. It's a c*** shoot when you know nothing about home repair. My insurance company has paid out over $18,000 so far. Here I sit all broken hearted. It will get done I just don't know when yet.
