On September 30 I received the following message. Discussion with customer service suggested a claim be filed. Find the below such a claim sent to you several weeks ago. I have received no response so far. Why ?Thank you for submitting your comments to our customer service department. You will will be contacted at the email address provided to discuss them.Yours truly,Customer Service **********************, ****************** This email reflects the situation you caused: Find below one of numerous emails to your firm ( STGUSA and Peninsula ). I have also called ******************* at least ten times at ************ ) and always being directed to his answering machine with a cheery recorded response that he will call right back. Please look into your heart and dip into ***** cash and allow me to put this ridiculous matter to bed. My shipment from ******* to my home in ************ was arranged by ******************* of STGUSA. He was advised upon my shipment of four pallets that Peninsula would not deliver the items to my house in Kingston as their trucks do not fit my street. This could easily have been determined by Peninsula prior to accepting the order. In any event, ***** stated he had found a delivery service from Peninsula's ********* warehouse to my house for approximately $ 600. This after having paid almost $ 900 for the move. I was told however that I could pick up my cargo at the Peninsula warehouse any weekday before 9:30 or between 4 and 6. I arranged for my gardener to use his pick up truck. He got to the warehouse in *********; waited more than one hour; called Peninsula dispatch and was told they knew nothing about this arrangement. My gardener then called me and I told him to go home. He charged me 2.5 hours of his time. I called Peninsula and explained the situation and told them I was engaging ****'s Small Moves of ***************** to pick up my cargo but the hours quoted would not work for ****'s. I was then told a person would be at the warehouse at 1:00 and for him and his crew to be there at that time. On the day arranged ****'s crew arrived at the ********* warehouse at the appointed hour. No one was present. He called Peninsula. No one had heard of this arrangement. **** called me and I told him and his crew to return to their home base. He charged me two hours x two men. I called Peninsula again. I spoke to ****, the dispatcher. I now offered to have the items delivered to the house of a friend of mine ( I hate involving my friends on my personal business ) who lives on a main street into Kingston ( ************* ). I was then told that was not possible but that the items would be delivered to a public park near my friend's house. As it turns out the items were deposited in front of my friend's garage. THIS IS ALL NONSENSE. I was told by Peninsula that to receive compensation for my expenditures upon reliance of your statements I should contact STGUSA - ******************* as he arranged for the delivery. Calls to him weekly go unanswered. I therefore ask you to compensate me for my payments to my gardener ( $ 30 x 2 hours ) and ****'s Small Moves ( $ 75 x 2 hours ) and $ ************************************* this chaos.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/01/2022

Response to ***************************** BBB Complaint #********:

Peninsula Truck Lines has done everything necessary to make delivery for ********************, to include redelivery to a 2nd address with specialized equipment.  All other arrangements for will call at our ********* terminal were between ******************** and ******************* at STGUSA.  Essentially, Peninsula Truck Lines had no knowledge of alternate delivery or pick up arrangements that were made with ************** for the gardener or ***** Small Moves.  Ultimately his disgruntlement and demand for refund lie with the Third Party Logistics (3PL) company STGUSA and *******************, through which he made initial and alternate shipping arrangements.

******************** has been verbally abusive to our staff and we will not engage him in further discussion.

      Complaint: 18440581

I am rejecting this response because:

AFTER ********************* OF STGUSA SAID PENINSULA WOULD NOT DELIVER THE ***** BEYOND ITS ********* WAREHOUSE HE SUGGESTED A DIFFERENT CARRIER BETWEEN ********* AND KINGSTON FOR AN ADDITIONAL $ 600.  HE SAID HE WAS THEN GOING ON VACATION.  THE LAST I HEARD FROM ******.  AS THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND HAVING NO OTHER CHOICE I THEN CONTACTED PENINSULA DIRECTLY TO ARRANGE FOR PICK UP AT THE ********* WAREHOUSE.  TO REITERATE:  NONE OF THE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP THE DELIVERY AT THE ********* WAREHOUSE WERE WITH ********************

THESE WERE MADE DIRECTLY BY TELEPHONE WITH AGENTS OF PENINSULA.  THE FIRST WAS WITH " ****, " A PENINSULA DISPATCHER FOR THE ********* WAREHOUSE.  HE SAID THE WAREHOUSE WAS STAFFED ONLY BY DRIVERS WHO WERE OUT ON THEIR DELIVERIES DURING THE ***  BUT THAT I COULD ARRANGE FOR PICK UP BEFORE 9:30 OR AFTER FOUR UNTIL SIX WHEN THE DRIVERS HAD YET TO LEAVE OR HAD RETURNED FROM THE ***'S DELIVERIES.  THIS WAS TRUE ANY WEEK ***.  i THANKED **** FOR THE INFORMATION.  **** SAID HE WAS GOING ON VACATION.  ON THE ***** OF THE INFORMATION RECEIVED I ARRANGED FOR MY GARDENER TO GO TO THE WAREHOUSE LATER THAT WEEK AT FOUR.  NO ONE APPEARED.  HE TRIED CALLING PENINSULA WITH NO LUCK.  I TOLD HIM TO JUST GO HOME.

i CALLED PENINSULA THE FOLLOWING *** AND IN ****'S ABSENCE SPOKE TO A WOMAN THE NAME OF WHOM I DO NOT RECALLL AT THIS TIME.  I TOLD HER WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND SHE REPEATED THE BEFORE 9:30 AND AFTER 4 LITTANY.  I TOLD HER THAT WAS ARRANGING FOR A LOCAL MOVER TO PICK UP MY ***** AND THAT THE ***** STATED COULD NOT FIT HIS SCHEDULE WITH HIS CREW.  SHE SAID THAT SHE UNDERSTOOD AND THAT EFFORTS WERE BEING MADE, INFORMALLY I GATHERED, TO HAVE THE WAREHOUSE STAFFED AT OTHER TIMES DURING THE ***.  SHE THEN TOLD ME SHE HAD ARRANGED ( OR IT HAD BEEN ARRANGED ) THAT A PENINSULA EMPLOYEE WOULD BE PRESENT THE FOLLOWING TUES*** BETWEEN NOON AND ONE.  i TOLD MY LOCAL MOVER THIS INFORMATION.  HE ( ****'S ) APPEARED BUT NO ONE WAS AT THE WAREHOUSE.  HE TOO CALLLED PENINSULA WITH THE SAME RESPONSE AS THAT TO MY GARDENER - NO RESPONSE.  HE TOLD HIM TO LEAVE AFTER AN HOUR.

i CALLED PENINSULA AGAIN LATER AND GOT **** AGAIN.  HE HAD RETURNED FROM VACATION BUT REMEMBERED OUR PRIOR INTERACTION.  HE THEN PROCEEDED TO SEE WHAT HE COULD DO.  HE CHECKED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A GLOBAL POSITIONING SOFTWARE OR SOME SUCH AND DETERMINED A PENINSULA TRUCK COULD GET AS CLOSE AS A LOCAL **** IN KINGSTON.  DELIVERY WOULD BE MADE THERE.  I SHOULD HAVE SOMEONE PRESENT TO SECURE THE LOAD AFTER DELIVERY AS THIS IS A PUBLIC AREA.  A DRIVER WOULD CALL.  NOT WANTING MY ITEMS LEFT UNSECURED IN A PUBLIC **** I CALLED MY TRUSTY GARDENER WITH THE PICK UP TRUCK.

THE DRIVER EVIDENTLY WAS RUNNING EARLY IN HIS DELIIVERIES AND CALLED ONE HOUR BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME OF DELIVERY TO THE ****.  HE THEN SAID HE COULD PULL HIS TRUCK INTO A PRIVATE RESIDENCE NEAR THE **** AND WOULD DO SO.  HE DID.  WHEN MY GARDENER ARRIVED LATER IN THE *** AT THE PREVIOUSLY ARRANGED TIME WE WENT TO THE PRIVATE RESIDENCE AND THERE IN FRONT OFHER GARAGE WAS MY *****.

      1.  THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ******************* OR STG *** BEYOND PENINSULA'S CONSTRANT REFRAIN THAT IT WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSILIBITY FOR ITS ACTIONS AND THAT I AM SOLELY TO LOOK TO STG-***.

      2.  SOLELY ON THE ***** OF ASSERTIONS MADE BY PENINSULA DO I FILE THIS BBB COMPLAINT.   IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT PENINSULA EVIDENTLY KNEW IT COULD NOT DELIVERY TO A RESIDENCE IN KINGSTON BUT ACCEPTED THE DELIVERY ORDER FROM STGUSA ANYWAY.  AFTER THE RUN-AROUND AND THE WAREHOUSE DELIVERY DEBACLES PENINSULA CONTINUED TO ********* COULD NOT MAKE A RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY BUT WOULD LEAVE MY ***** AT A PUBLIC **** -- UP TO ME TO SEE THE ***** WAS SECURED THEREAFTER.  THEN, AND ONLY THEN, IT TURNS OUT PENINSULA'S DRIVER, ON HIS OWN, DETERMINES A DELIVERY CAN BE MADE TO A RESIDENCE -- EVEN IF NOT MINE.

      3.  AS AN ASIDE -- DO NOT HOLD **** RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS.  HE IS THE ONLY PENINSULA EMPLOYEE WILLING TO HELP.  HE IS THE ONE WHO GIVE ME THE INTIAL ADVICE ( WHICH TURNED OUT UNAVAILING THROUGH NO ACTION BY HIM ).  HIS FEMALE REPLACEMENT DURING HIS VACATION MADE ASSERTIONS ABOUT WAREJHOUSE STAFFINGJ WHICH WERE EITHER NOT TRUE OR NOT CARRIED OUT ON HER BEHALF.  WHEN **** RETURNED FROM VACATION HE TRIED TO ARRANGE FOR DELIVERY IN KINGSTON -- AGAIN, ERRONEOUS AS IT TURNED OUT.

      4.  ALL OF THIS WAS EXPLAINED OVER AND OVER AND OVER VIA EMAIL AND TELEPHONE CALLS AND COMPLAINTS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ********************** WITH NOT ONE, NOT ONE RESPONSE UNTIL NOW.  EXCEPT:  ONE CALL FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE ASKING IF I WANTED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT **** -- THE ONLY PERSON AT ALL RESPONSIVE AT PENINSULA.  I TOLD THE FEMALE WHO CALLED I DID NOT WANT **** HELD RESPONSIBLE BEYOND HIS BEING IN THE ***** OF COMMAND.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************
