I brought my Mini ****** to Central Avenue Automotive Inc. for a diagnosis as it was experiencing mechanical issues. I was told they had a specialized mechanic for Mini Coopers, but I had to wait three weeks for their availability. The diagnostic process began with a cost of $200. However, as the inspections continued, I was repeatedly contacted and urged to authorize further inspections. The diagnostic expense quickly escalated to $850. It was then communicated to me that the timing chain and related components needed replacement, resulting in an estimated total cost of $2,900, including the diagnostic fees.Throughout the process, I expressed my reluctance to invest significant sums into repairs. Unfortunately, I was convinced to proceed with the repairs based on misleading information provided. Their staff claimed that my car was worth $9,000 according to KBB, implying that the repairs would be a worthwhile investment. To my dismay, I received another call stating that additional repairs were necessary, which raised the projected cost to $5,800. In an attempt to alleviate some of the financial burden they offered a $300 reduction by reusing the old spark plugs, bringing the revised estimate to $5,500. However, this raised concerns about the potential for further escalating costs and the lack of guarantees against unforeseen expenses.Since my last communication with Central Avenue Automotive Inc. on Thursday, May 26th, I have not provided authorization for any additional work, nor have I received the detailed invoice requested to substantiate the repairs and associated costs. I believe that the conduct of this shop falls short of the standards expected from a reputable business. I seek a fair and just outcome, which may include a refund of the fees paid for the incomplete repairs and any associated costs incurred due to the negligence and misleading practices.Additional things to note:-Shop has had car in possession for 6 weeks -Accused of buyers remorse

This is regarding my experience with Central Avenue Automotive Inc. attempting to diagnose the issues with my vehicle. In order to ensure an accurate inspection and avoid unforeseen expenses, I willingly paid additional fees for diagnostic tests, amounting to roughly $900.

My intention for obtaining an accurate inspection was to make an informed decision about the future of my vehicle. I considered selling it as a fixer-upper car, disclosing the known issues to any potential buyer, or potentially donating it or having it towed to a wrecking yard if the repairs proved to be too costly. I made it explicitly clear that my primary objective was not to proceed with extensive repairs, but rather to determine the exact nature of the problems.

Despite paying the substantial diagnostic charges, I have not received a comprehensive report or detailed invoices outlining the findings of the diagnostic tests amounting to $5,800. This lack of transparency makes me question the legitimacy of the diagnostic work performed.

The inherent problem lies in the fact that the diagnostic tests, for which I paid a significant amount, were not accurately performed. This oversight has resulted in expenses for repairs that *** not have been required if the initial diagnostics were thorough and complete. I have no guarantee that the repairs conducted thus far will resolve all underlying issues.

I would also like to clarify my settlement selected as other : Aside from billing adjustments and explanation of charges I am hoping they complete the job to ensure my car is returned in proper working condition. I want to emphasize that I do not want my vehicle returned broken down and have to pay for towing expenses.

If you have any questions or need any additional information please let me know.

    Thank you so much,
    *****
