February 2021, I hired Fischer Plumbing to install a new hot water tank. The plumber had trouble with the installation. I was concerned that I had been given a lemon that I asked him to get another new tank but he assured me that there was a 6-year warranty and there was no problem. From day one the tank was nothing but trouble. Over the next few weeks, I called Fischer Plumbing on multiple occasions because the tank would not keep the water hot. I had had my electrical system checked out March 2021, there was no problem with my electrical system. The plumber came back and after some adjustments he said it was OK now. Ater, he left the hot water tank would trip my breaker. In May 2022 the *** tripped the *** breaker for the last time. I called Fischer plumbing and had them come out to check the ***. Within the first few minutes they told me that my breaker was bad. They were right, however they continued to stay, until they ran up the bill to charge for an hour, padding the bill instead of a minimal trip charge. After the *** breaker was replaced, same thing happened over and over. The water would get scalding hot until the breaker was tripped. Finally, I stopped using the hot water altogether as I was scared. Several times I called Fischer and each time I was told it was my electrical system; blowing me off in a condescending tone. When the tank that Fischer sold me was pulled out the red wires plastic coating was totally melted from the tanks top panel to the bottom panel and it was melted to the tanks insulation. I expect Fischer Plumbing to refund the full installation cost of the hot water tank $1,100.00 +- AND for my electrical expenses $535.98. Stay away from Fischer Plumbing.

Attached are two files.  The first is a copy of the ******** ***** Warranty.  When Fischer provides and installs a water heater, we back up our work with a 1-year parts and labor warranty.  Beyond a year, ******** ***** has a six-year factory warranty for the tank.  While Fischer plumbing can install their product and can assure that the plumbing connections are free from leaks, we cannot be responsible for the electrical connections in the home.

Since this concern is being brought up over three years past our last visit to this home, a statement of their account was pulled.  The initial visit on 2/25/2021 was for the original install of the hot water tank.  There is no history of visits or charges made to this job until May of 2022.  This is when it was determined that the breaker was bad and needed replaced.  A breaker is an electrical device the controls the amperage to the device that it serves.  This is not a plumbing related issue.  After the breaker was replaced (by an electrician), the tank was turned back on, and the system was working as intended.

The service call from the repeat visit in May of 2022 has already been refunded in January of 2025.

I am rejecting this response because: Fischers response is unacceptable and only partially true by omission.   They did come back to work on the tank again after the initial installation and it wasnt the *********** call.  I did call multiple times over the years but they kept blaming my electrical and I could get nowhere with them about replacing the tank.  I no longer trusted them to come out but couldnt afford to replace the tank until October 2024, so I went without hot water.  Since the Fischer tank was pulled and replaced, I have had no problems with the new tank. I waited several months after replacing the tank to file this complaint because I first tried to work out a solution/refund on the hot water tank but they only sent me a check for the refund of the *********** call with no explanation.   In turn sent them a letter saying I appreciated the *********** call refund but I wanted to be compensated for the tank and its installation cost.  I received no response from them so I filed this complaint with the BBB so that others wont have to go through this experience.

After the Fischer tank was pulled , I noticed the coating on the red wire in the Fischer tank was totally melted from the top panel to the bottom panel.   This is why I was having problems with their tank continually over heating until it tripped the breaker.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ****

hello,Fischer Plumbing installed a new toilet in my home on August 8, 2022. I received the invoice by the end of the week. The "materials" charges were higher than I was expecting, based on the verbal quote I received when scheduling the service. The total for materials is listed on the bill as $494.27, these charges are not itemized on the bill. I was quoted that the total for materials would be $325 for the new toilet, including the seat. I first called Fischer on August 15, I said I had a question about my bill, I was transferred to Accounting, my call went to voicemail, I requested a call back. I hadn't heard from them by August 17 so I called again. I explained that I had concerns about the charges on my bill, that I wanted to received an itemized bill for materials) and I was again transferred, I'm not sure where. I left a more detailed voice message. My call was returned and I spoke with a Fischer employee. He was able to see an itemized list of materials and said that it included a soft close toilet lid, for a cost of around $70 (I can't remember the exact amount that he quoted), he also said that the remainder of the additional materials costs were for items including a new wax ring. I informed him that I had not ordered a special toilet lid, I was told that a regular lid was included in the $325. I also informed him that I was not told that there would be additional materials charges for misc. items. He said he would follow up with his staff. Not hearing back, I called again on August 29, my call was again transferred and went to voicemail. I requested an update on this overbilling. I haven't heard back from them as of September 6, 2022. It's been over 3 weeks since I first inquired about my bill, I'm not sure what to do next. By my calculations, the overbilling is in the amount of $169.27 plus tax. Thank you for any help you can provide.

We have made the adjustment as requested by the homeowner on this invoice, removing all of the material costs other then the toilet itself.
