I was reminded today by the dangerous, aggressive driving of truck #*** (lplate D80500E) that I never filed a complaint with BBB. Last year I needed a drain pipe replaced, and told the scheduler. She insisted they snake the drain, despite me explaining it had not worked in the past. The team broke their snake and left it in my bathroom. The next day, a real team of "plumbers" team tore out the drywall to try and remove the snake. On the phone, the supervisor authorized a "repipe." They charged me $350 to break and leave their equipment in my bathroom, and several hundred more to remove the snake. I should have had to pay for any of that, since they did what I told them NOT to do. We negotiated the repipe job for a maximum amount, which included the charges for work already done to tear up my bathroom. However, the team quit part way and was unable to do the repipe. I asked if they could snake the remaing drain, but no, this team does not travel with a snake, so they would only close it up to a blocked pipe. This seems to be the business plan: send incomplete teams that can only do partial jobs. We had to schedule several days over a week or two. They didn't keep their time windows and were disrespectful and upsetting. I got a competing bid. (I got Fischer referral from the ***************** another bad company)Finally Fischer gave a bid to complete the job. They bid $17,000 on top of the $2,000 I already owed, and it would leave both bathrooms torn up. The competing bid was less than $4,000, and did not involve tearing out the shower. The owner of Fischer Plumbing was exceptionally rude and unable to stay on task with getting me the bid. Instead he wanted to make personal attacks, which I weathered and tried to keep him on a professional level of communication to try and get the problem resolved.I give NEGATIVE stars, not the 1 star required to leave a review. Run, do not walk, from both the plumbing and the driving of this horrendous scam of a company.

I would like to keep these reviews on point, as there seems to be two different issues that are being discussed.

The first is mention of a driver that is reportedly driving dangerously and aggressive.  I want to appreciate the report of that instance, (and would like to know more details), as safe driving is very important to our company.  When complaints like this come in, the driver is brought in to discuss the infraction and written up, as these conditions are in violation of our company policy.

Regarding the service call, there is quite a bit of inconsistency with the narrative.  **** doesn't seem to be the only one involved with the issues at this home, as our technicians and teams on this job have reported other people living in this home that seem to be giving them different directions.

The initial call was clearly a call for a backed-up drain.  To which we went a drain cleaner to this call.  Our drain cleaners are experienced and carry the necessary tools for exactly this purpose, and it is all they do, so they are very good at it.  Most of the time, they are able to clear blockages that DIY'ers fail to clear since they are more experienced and carry better equipment.  Simply opening up walls to replace pipe is not the first thing any professional plumbing company would do to start clearing drains, as **** suggests.

During the attempted drain cleaning, the snake did break through some very old rotted cast iron pipe.  A plumbing team was then sent out to then open walls and determine the location of the break.  Once this was found, they cut the pipe square, was able to retrieve the snake, and properly capped off the ends of pipe to keep the smell of sewer gas from coming into her home.

Since the pipe broke, the condition of the pipe was of concern for the rest of the home.  An estimator was sent out to the home to investigate and provide options for how to handle the repair of the pipe.  The option of replacing the pipe, along with fixing all drywall was presented to the client.  This would have been a turnkey proposal that would have provided the family with functioning plumbing, and absolutely no mess left behind.  It was also stated that should this proposal been accepted, the investigative work would have been waived.

When it comes to the amount of plumbing bids, it is understood that they can very a lot.  Seldom is there a "one size fits all" answer.  The other bid proposed was probably not an apples to apples comparison, as it did not require any investigation, and was likely a patch up job.

When it came to the billing of this job, the drain cleaners time was not charged.  The only time she was billed was for our technicians time in determining where the break was.  Obviously, this would have been waived should our proposal have been accepted.

I provided the driver's license plate in the complaint, if you care to follow up.I was extremely clear in the first call to Fischer that it was NOT a "backed up drain." That assumption (and not believing me), such that the company sent out an ill-equipped team for a re-pipe, twice, is exactly where the problem originated. Additionally, the teams did not keep their arrival windows, and because I had not arrived home from work yet, they were received by my elderly father who was visiting. To comment on the residents of my home is inappropriate. I am the homeowner and resident. The company wasted a LOT of my time with inept work by unequipped teams. I sat with them as they dinked around, pondering. The final bid was more than $17,000 and the bid indicated it would fix the one sink but leave the downstairs shower demolished. I had a good company complete the job for around $4,000, without destroying anything. They replaced the entire drain pipe, installed a clean-out, and the bathroom now works. Theirs was not a patch-up job, any more than I need a drain cleared rather than a re-pipe. I still have to patch it up, to be honest.Your arrogant and disrespectful attitude shows in your reply. Folks, run don't walk from Fischer. It's an incompetent scam from start to finish.Especially women: don't bother.
