    I left a review for an attorney ******** ********* a few years ago, and it was on for all these years. Today I received an email from Avvo stating that it has been removed.Looks like Avvo is up to their scam again - taking bribes from attorneys for reviews manipulation.I request that my review is reinstated.

    I discovered that two unclaimed Avvo profiles exist under my name without my consent. I have never created, claimed, edited, or authorized these listings. They contain no content, reviews, or consumer benefit and were created without any interaction from me.Since May 10, 2025, I have repeatedly contacted Avvo requesting full removal of both profiles. I clearly stated that the profiles are unclaimed and inactive, yet I received multiple templated replies falsely implying I had claimed them. I clarified this error and reiterated my request, but Avvo continues to ignore my messages or respond with irrelevant copy-paste policies.I am requesting that both unclaimed profiles be removed entirely from Avvos site and de-indexed from search engines. This is not a claimed profile or public engagementthese are unwanted listings using my name and license without my permission.

    it does not resolve the issue. I have never created, claimed, or consented to the publication of a profile on your platform, nor have I agreed to your terms of service. Listing attorneys solely on the basis of having an active bar license does not entitle your company to republish our personal and professional information in a commercial context, particularly one that includes a rating system, profile page, and public contact formfeatures that falsely imply my affiliation or endorsement.


    I have emailed your company multiple times requesting the removal of this unsolicited and unverified profile. The continued publication may constitute misappropriation of name and likeness, and could be construed as misleading under applicable consumer protection and deceptive trade practice statutes.


    This is a final request that the profile be permanently removed or escalated to a supervisor with the authority to provide a substantive resolution.

    I used an attorney based on ratings from their website. It was ******** *********. She was horrible. I tried to submit a review on Avvo. They denied it and said redo it. When I sent it back they said I already had submitted a review. Avvo protects lawyers and does not protect consumers. Avvo is a scam. I want them to publish my review of **** *********.

    I had a review removed for vague reasons ("lack of factual evidence"). When I reached out to the team for specifics on what factual evidence, exactly, they would need and what I would be able to provide, even the team couldn't answer what exactly they needed - they unhelpfully sent me to their FAQ (as if I hadn't already reviewed this in detail) and continued to send vague emails about why my review didn't meet their standards. Avvo, why is your customer service team unable to answer clear and specific questions regarding reviews? Because of this non-service, it seems like your company is rejecting valid complaints, as seen in the other complaints here.I have done full and valid business with the attorney in question. I've provided specific details. It is unethical how it has been handled by the attorney, and I have 0 understanding why your company is protecting lawyers from valid complaints. You should not be making this process vague and even worse after we've already dealt with awful lawyers registered on your platform.

    We allow reviews for either hired or consulted attorneys.  Per the details of the review you wrote, you didn't speak with this attorney, additionally the attorney in question seems to be in a government position who wouldn't have represented you.

    Your Review:

    Head of the ********************* and does not look into complaints nor responds. Reported a serious financial services violation to the *****'s ********************* who had been unresponsive for months. I then reported to the same to ********** **************** who has (unsurprisingly) also been fully unresponsive for months. I was then forced to raise the same to the **** who asked that I give her a call, which I have twice, and she has continued to be very disrespectful and unresponsive. It's more than clear that the ***** does not care about serious complaints when their own ************* fails to respond. The ***** should be responsible for looking into violations, and I should absolutely not be needing to escalate to these levels. Our taxpayer money should be going towards protecting our rights, not hired individuals who refuse to carry out their job duties. Completely unethical lawyer and should not be in service.

    To all reading Avvo concerns on the BBB:

    1. Note how rude Avvos representatives are when responding. Theres absolutely no reason for this. Im the one who is raising an issue with your company falsely protecting attorneys, and youre the company who has mishandled it and tried to shutdown valid reviews from the beginning.

    2. There are attorneys assigned to citizens within the government. These attorneys are then assigned to citizens, as was in my case. Im very glad to hear that Avvo has no standards or requirements for these types of attorneys, like ******** *********, and that they allow attorneys who are required to respond, per the government entity that assigned them, but do not, and are not held accountable by anyone. Apparently government attorneys are getting preferential treatment by Avvo, and no other attorney review site has this issue.

    AVVO is absolutely despicable. I have been trying to review an attorney that I had a bad experience with for literally the past four months.They rejected my initial review because they said I didnt state in the review whether she was hired or not. THE VERY FIRST LINE of the review stated I hired [name of Lawyer] yet they rejected it saying I hadnt said it.I then rewrote the review stating multiple times I hired her and had a bad experience and they rejected it saying I did not state what my experience was. I re-wrote it stating my experience multiple times. It was then rejected as not meeting *********** this point, I called Avvo and spoke to someone who said indeed my review matched all necessary criteria and he posted it. Within a few minutes the lawyer responded lying, and saying I couldnt possibly be her client even though I was anonymous and Avvo once again removed my review, believing the lawyer over myself - the disgruntled client leaving the review.I called back once again and they could not figure out why my review was taken down so they put it back up. Again. The lawyer then said she didnt know me (again Im anonymous) and Avvo took down my review for the fifth time asking for documentation I have now sent Voicemail, emails, receipts of payment and frankly Avvo is a tremendous scam! They will not under any circumstances allow someone to leave a negative review. This is purely a positive review MILL that attorneys pay for to boost business. This is false advertising on their site and amounts to fraud. You can provide all the proof you want and they will still take down your view saying you didnt specifically say XYZ which is clearly in your review. It is a disgusting and despicable company who has been sued for this exact thing in the past.They need to be sued again .

    It does not address that I initially submitted a review stating I hired and it was rejected because Avvo claimed I didnt say I hired the attorney - which is either direct fraud or complete illiteracy. 
    I then submitted the review stating my poor experience with the attorney and Avvo replied that I was accusing the attorney without proof.  So my experience is not proof but positive reviews do not require proof? Kindly explain this. 

    I needed to call Avvo multiple times because at the point that I said I hired and the response was that I didnt state I hired the attorney - this is a farce and a scam.  Im sure theyll love this review because every shady poor attorney will be overjoyed that they can get away with all sorts of unethical behavior and no one will be able to get a review through on their paid avvo profile.  

    It seems the technique Avvo is relying upon is that disgruntled clients will be worn down and give up.  Is that not the case? Because 2 months of writing and calling sure would make it seem so. Or what exactly is the strategy?

    My review was unpublished incorrectly I believe was your term - FOUR TIMES! FOUR! Did you actually read the complaint or just go by the script? 

    Let me state it again and Im happy to bill for my time as well. 


    1) I was told it did not say I hired the attorney when NOT ONLY was that my first line but ITS also one of your options!! And it was removed 

    I had it put back and then :

    2) I was told I was making false accusations against the attorney - BEFORE SHE EVEN SAW THE REVIEW  - so someone at Avvo just randomly decided it was false!

    I called and they put it back and then:

    3) I was told the attorney contested it and it was removed before BEFORE I had a chance to respond  

    I wrote in and called and:

    4) It was removed AFTER I CALLED TO HAVE IT PUT BACK - and she contested it again  

    DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SAY YOU DONT POLICE REVIEWS?!!?  No one NOT ONE take down for any of my or anyone elses positive reviews! NOT ONE

    Have you read other Avvo reviews about Avvo itself? Even attorneys are saying its a fake review mill! EVEN ATTORNEYS!

    I have been trying to close my Avvo account since last month because I no longer use it. I couldn't find a link to close/delete my account within my ********************** account, so I sent two separate emails to **************************************** Each time, they emailed me back asking me for an Avvo account number and asked if I was an attorney or had a listing. I told them I'm an individual, not a firm and said there is no account number listed in my account. I only opened a general user ********************** account with my email address. The email replies from Avvo customer service kept going in circles for the last couple of weeks, and my account is still open as of today. I have been unable to get a resolution to this matter despite repeated requests and clearly stating that I'm an individual, not a law firm, have no listing, and I don't have an account number. I simply want my account closed/deleted. Thank you.

    I just had two attorneys (partners) scammed me, now trying to leave reviews for them - and Avvo rejects them: for ****** they said "duplicate review" which is a lie, one day ago was my first attempt ever to submit a review for him. I am guessing ****** is paying Avvo to maintain his fake online reputation, while being a scammer.

    My review of attorney ***-********** ***** contains all factual and detailed experience that meets and exceeds all the community guidelines indicated by the business AVVO Inc.  My review was declined, according to AVVO Representative ******** because they were unsure if I am a real client who worked with *** *****. Despite providing the attached email correspondence, which clearly confirms a client-attorney relationship, the AVVO business was claims the review was denied for not being a real client.
