      If I could give zero stars, I would. We hired eco-movers to help with our move from ******* to ****** in the last few weeks. We sourced several moving companies and compared bids. We made sure to ask for the same services from all companies so we could have comparable bids to compare. Eco-movers came in with the best bid.Fast forward to the day of and the crew was over two hours late to arrive which pushed back our whole move schedule. They were rushed and packing feverishly. (We hired them to pack our kitchen as well). The ******* certainly showed on the other side when we arrived in ****** to find nearly every box had a liquid explode and leak all over the other items in the box. Things were crammed in, several items broken. Additionally, we had them go to our storage unit (three minutes down the road from our house) and pack that. The storage place closes at 9 PM and my husband had to help load in so we could do it in time. He spent three hours with the crew to make it before close. Not ok. The very worse part is we get to ****** to find that our final payment was $4000 over the original estimate. 25%!! We were shocked but they had our stuff, what to do?We took it up with the claims department and went round and round and could never really figure out what the charge was for. They said it was first that packing wasn't included in the original bid (their mistake), then it was because they needed to pack more than the kitchen (not true, they did give us some boxes which we happily will pay for but that's not 4K) and then it was that they could only charge 125% of the original estimate and they went over (again, WTF) and could offer us a credit.All in all after several emails back and forth, we settled with a $1200 credit which is minimal to 4K of overages we can't get straight. If I would have known this was the final price, I would have gone with another mover I used before and had a great experience. My mistake. ********.

      The movers were great and helpful. It was the billing. It was a very expensive move for a small apartment across town. The final bill was 125% more than the non-binding estimate. The signed non-biding contract states "... no case will I be required to pay more than 125% of the estimate (plus any supplemental.)..." There was no mention that packing material would be extra. This is not fair to the consumer for price comparisons and budgets.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We apologize for any stress and frustration caused by the bill for your recent move.

      To investigate matters further, we pulled the original sales call with our agent, and confirmed that you were informed multiple times that the size of your move job, while quoted at 8 hours, would ultimately be determined by the items you had and the distances the crew would need to travel. This is limited by your estimate, capping any overage in hours, rate and crew size to 125% of the original estimate. On this same call, they also advised that you only pay for the materials used, and that providing your own packing materials is a good way to reduce moving costs. 

      In addition we reviewed your billing and found the following: We originally quoted you for both packing and moving with a crew of 1 truck, 3 men, and an estimated time of 8 hours. This is non-binding, meaning the estimate may vary up to 125% (10 hours) to account for circumstances on site we cannot foresee over the phone. This is clearly detailed on the estimate itself, and the final moving paperwork for your move. 

      When we make these estimates, we initially do so sight-unseen, based on the crew size and the average expected weight of your home. After we complete our initial estimate, we strongly recommend our customers submit a complete and accurate inventory, that way if the home does not match the average weight we used to quote you, adjustments can be made. The estimate for this move job was signed on 4/17, showing your understanding of our billing practices and policies. 

      In this case, it does look like an inventory was submitted of **** lbs, and based on this information your estimate appeared to be relatively accurate. As a result, we sent our crew out to you as outlined in your original estimate. However, on arrival the crew did find that the inventory was larger than expected. Since you had both a pack and move, this added more time to both as the crew packed your items, and then moved them to the new location. There was also a 500+ft long walk from the truck to your front door at both locations. Since this longer distance has to be traveled over repeatedly by the crew as they move your stuff, this can also add significantly more time. 

      For materials, because they are used as-needed, they are not considered part of the original estimate amount, as needs here can dramatically fluctuate on a per move basis. Many times we use less materials than expected, sometimes more. It's all based on the size of your move and what needs packing.

      Due to the above items, it looks like your move ended at a final time of 9 hours and 45 minutes, well within the 125% variance allowed for your estimate. In addition, there were various materials used, and as per originally quoted, all materials used were charged, resulting in an additional amount on the bill. We apologize that this led to a larger charge, however this is the actual time and materials taken for your move. 

      We understand that moving can be a stressful experience, and we strive to make the process as smooth and transparent as possible. While we have done our best to explain your billing via the multiple emails sent to you, we are open to answering further questions if need be. However, we do remain firm that the billing for your move was accurate per the actual time and materials used for this job.

      I had the best experience with movers today! ******************** and *** were amazing. I had some difficult, heavy furniture to move and they were professional every step of the way. My coworker recommended them and I am so happy she did!! Thank you guys!! Not to mention, today is Sunday, they usually dont work on Sundays, and my original company cancelled two days ago. This company came through for me! So grateful!!
