We bought a new build home in 2022. Hurliman was the contractor for the community. In the winter of 2022 our fireplace did not work in the middle of freezing temps. They came out and said rusted old pieces were used to install and the person who installed it was fired for drug use. They replaced it. A few weeks late the furnace was not working in the middle of the winter. They came out and said something was installed incorrectly and replaced it. Now at the 2 year ***** surprise the ** isnt working. I called and they started the conversation with it is outside of warranty and maybe parts might still be warrantied. They said we can call anyone to to fix it and that company can request the manufacturer warranty. No other company will do this and now Hurlimans wont respond. I spoke to the person answering the phones and then the supervisor who both said we could call anyone. We called another company who came out and said the inverter is fried on this new unit and they could not claim warranty for us. I tried calling Hurliman back and they want respond. I suspect again they used old parts and no one was checking during COVID.

    Furnace

Hurliman Heating and Air Conditioning used to be a great Company but NOT ANYMORE.
Not even a year ago on Jan. 30th, 2023 when we had a cold spell of negative temperatures our furnace froze up and was worked on by Hurliman Heating and Air Conditioning. Now again on January 13th 2024 the same thing happened because the technician last year did NOT install a heat tape properly on a condensation line and it froze again.
The technician, Christopher, that was out this year TOLD me and my husband that the end of the line was left unwrapped and that’s where it froze up because it had BEEN IMPROPERLY installed by the technician last year. Leaving it unprotected again.
I did not mind paying for a service call but then they charged $150 for faulty work of THEIR COMPANY employee. When I questioned this the manager said ’well we would have covered it if it was last winter’. But when I said “it wasn’t till we experienced the cold again the problem showed up, of course it wasn’t going to happen during regular temperatures.” The manager said ‘again it didn't happen again last winter’.
Of course it just got extremely cold again and if the heat tape had been installed properly on the whole condensation line it would not have froze. It was â HURLIMAN technician that did not do a complete job and â HURLIMAN TECHNICIAN that said it wasn’t installed properly leaving the line to freeze again. It was â HURLIMAN TECHNICIAN who again fixed same problem.
All I asked is the $150 be refunded for their poor work done less than a year ago. Having it be same problem points to a Hurliman issue of poor work leaving us a customer to pay for their lack of ability to do a proper repair.
I’m not asking for anything more than my $150.00 be refunded for work now double charged because of lack of proper repairs.

The Business is still in business. It was sold by previous owners and the new owners have kept the name, facility and do business from same location and phone numbers as previous owners. I believe new owners took over in 2021.
They are the ones that did the work for us in ***************************************************** the ****** ****************** built by ****** Homes. Our home is only 4 years old this month and these new owners are the ones who did work in 2023 and it was their serviceman who did not do repairs correctly last January.

Yes the original business sold and the new owners kept the name and the new owners are the ones who did the work last January 2023.  I also have a written statement from other home owner that had same problem in past and not only did owner admit they had equipment and service problems but they fixed for no charge, not the $250 they charged us.  I believe they started charging because they had so many in this and possibly other communities that they wanted to recoup fees from their faulty work.
