I requested a diagnostic for repair and was charged $98.00 before any actual work was done. I was then told the repairs could cost $400.00 or more. The technicians claimed it would be for a pilot assembly and possible other parts if that did not resolve the issue. When I said this sounded excessive and unreasonable, they came back with a revised estimate of $264.00, but could not guarantee the work would fix the problem. They then said I had to agree and sign off to the charge before any work could start. I then asked if all work and parts would be outlined in my receipt statement to explain and record the work and parts in detail. They said it would. They then told me that they had to order the pilot assembly part from a warehouse in ******, ********** and this could take an additional 3-5 days over the weekend, for some reason. This was on October 2 and we did not get any work done until October 10th. I was told on October 2 and again on October 10th that this estimate would have to be agreed to be paid before any work could proceed. I again asked for a receipt to include all work and parts for this bill. The work took less than an hour and I was charged for the full estimate but they would not give me a receipt to reflect what was done. I requested receipts by text several times but was told they do not brake down their service that way. I can present copies of bills and texts. I believe I have been overcharged and they are skirting around ethical standards and practices by not giving reasonable explanation of the work and parts. The estimate also stated it was not a contract and yet they would not do the work unless I agreed to pay the estimate price in full. I believe the part in question cost under $50.00. Can you explain any of this? All of it, including the time frame for obtaining the part and doing the work seems suspect.

Hurliman designed and installed a new system for our new construction build. We have had multiple issue due to poor design and incompetent workmanship. They failed to installed a safety switch or connect the condensation pump. The system is too small for the square footage of the home. They now refuse to honor their warranty.

I had a furnace be deemed a hazard and the gas turned off to it in Oct 2022 just when the temperatures dropped. I had to go with the company chosen by my home warranty company which was Hurliman Heating and Air Conditioning. The removal of the old furnace and the install of the new took less than 3 hours. Hurliman charged me $377 for duct work modification, $331 for venting modification, $331 for gas line modification for a total of $1,039. Keeping in mind this took less than three hours and there were no discussions of things needing to be modified, I find these charges to be outrages. If this is an industry standard to charge customers, then the industry needs to have people stand up to these charges.
