August 29th I had my car towed to ********** auto. They said that I needed a new ignition coil. They charged me $445.50. I asked how much the part was, and they said around 100$. I said your charging me that much for labor? I found out when I got the final bill that they were also charging me for diagnosis. This was not disclosed to me up front. I just paid and left as I was too upset. The work they did did not fix the problem so I brought it back in about a week later. They claimed they couldn't produce the issue and said I need new spark plugs. I had the spark plugs fixed elsewhere which didn't solve the issue. I called November 4th to bring my car in again and was told they were no longer going to deal with me. I wasn't going to file this report until that. I would like my money back except for the part because it didn't work and they clearly don't stand behind their work. Please help me!

Dear *****, I have had the opportunity to research your complaint and unfortunately I will not be able to comply with your request for a refund. When your vehicle was towed into or store it wasn't running and required diagnostic time. I have been told that you were advised that the coil was the most likely cause, but that there were several other codes that came up in the scan of your vehicle. I have reviewed your transaction and you were charged exactly what you stated for the part, plus labor, and diagnostic. Sometimes when there are multiple issues presenting at the same time the diagnostic work takes time and we try to do it as affordably as possible. The coil has a 12mo/12,000 warranty should you have further issues with it. Thank you for your business.

I am rejecting this response because: You did not disclose up front that you were charging for diagnostic that is why I have issue and would have taken my car to my usual shop. My car was running, just not well.

Then you refused me service after claiming to back up your work.

    Sincerely,

Unfortunately, I will have to again decline the request for refund. I have reviewed your complaint with our staff and and was told the charges were consistent and necessary for the repair performed. Diagnostic charges are a true cost of doing business and sometimes when there are multiple issues, it takes a bit to figure out what to do for a given repair.

I am rejecting this response because: you have offered no apology or explanation for refusing me service for a second look at my car when you didn't fix the problem that I brought it in for. That is Not standing by your work.

500$ is a lot of money to spend for something that did absolutely no good. Most mechanics would at least try to do something!

This is public so all I can hope for is that I save someone else from going to your business and being treated unfairly!

    Sincerely,
