On January 9th I called TDS Fiber because they were having a deal for $29.99 a month for cable with a lock in 2 year price deal. The add did not state that there were any stipulations about existing customers not being eligible for the deal. I called *** and was informed that since I was an existing customer that I would not be able to get the price reduction. I told them that that wasnt in the add and the representative said that its just their policy. I asked to speak to a manager to discuss this matter further and she put me on hold and no one ever came back on the line. To rectify this situation, I want to get the $29.99 deal that was promised to all customers and for the 2 years that everyone else is receiving.Initial Complaint

I paid $25 to lock in my rates as advertised on the website and as soon as my area would get service (still installing throughout town) i would those rates. After nearly 3 years of waiting my neighborhood finally got service installed, but the order that was pushed in for my install is not what I signed up for or correct prices that was locked in, I visited the locals store to see whats going on and was told it would be fixed after i got the service installed in my house the following week, then went back after my service was installed and was told they wont change any prices to my locked in rates because thats not whats currently offered, wasnt offered ever. Then after several visits to store and calls to customer service within a week of having the service ai have requested my account to be closed and I dont want to be billed since I orginally signed up for 3 months free (which they wont honor) and they have a money back gaurentee. A couple weeks later I contacted support via email to confirm I would not be getting billed and they confirmed i would blnot be getting one, Today I received a bill for $263. When the service i had was supposed to be 153 plus taxes. Whereas I signed up for a higher service than I recieved for ****** after all taxes and fees A total bait and switch. And forcing me to get service installed to only be told they wont honor my original contract price that was paid forBusiness Response

TDS has applied our 30 day Money Back Guarantee to Mr. ********** billing, he can disregard any billing. The $25.00 pre-registration fee that was credited to his new account will be refunded to him within 60 to 90 days. He will receive that in the mail. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This company created damages to our property and refuses to fix them.In the fall of ****************************************************************************************** the process, they lost a tool under our driveway. They removed concrete from our pad and found their tool. Due to this mistake, TDS hired a contractor to come re-pour the concrete on October 30, 2023. This work was done in the dark, while it was raining. Obviously, the concrete pour was a disaster. We have tried for over a year to get TDS to come back and remedy this issue. I have documented all of my calls and they assured me they would send a new contractor to do the work that needed to be done. Today, I called AGAIN, to check on the status; they have closed our ticket! In other words, they claim they have fixed this issue. This is NOT the case whatsoever.Initial Complaint

Installation of internet service on June 8. Exposed cable left above ground across my front yard despite installer statement that independent contractor would bury in 3 weeks. Now 6 weeks have passed and TDS wont confirm date for cable bury. Location of cable above ground is danger to foot traffic and yard work. TDS Fiber installed fiber in our neighborhood (Fairhaven), in my yard they dug four holes the last hole was next to my irrigation and water valves and sprinkler system on the west side of my home. They fixed the cap associated with the water valve on an earlier complaint. But when I turned on my sprinkler system once it was pressurized I found that they had broken the sprinkler head in the same area. I called them and they gave me a new ticket number, unfortunately I lost the number, or I would provide it. That being said their representative did call on Thursday May 4th and left a message to call him. I have called him twice and left messages both times and have not received a return call. I have had the sprinter fixed as I could not get a response. It is a small amount totalling $39.92...$19.92 for parts and $20 cash (I can get a receipt if necessary) to have a neighbors landscaper install. I would like to get reimbursed and some for of apology for all of the sloppy work in my yard. I understand they do have ROW access but they should have been more careful and diligent regarding putting everything back the way it was before installing their lines.Initial Complaint

I switched my TV and **************** to TDS on January 27, 2023 because they were offering the first 3 months FREE. After the free 3 months my bill would be approximately $170 per month. After 3 weeks I got a bill for $184.00. I called TDS and they said it was a mistake and they hadnt applied the free 3 month special and my first bill would be April 27. 3 months after installation. Not even one month later I received another bill for $240.00 with late fees etc. of course I called again and this time it was completely different! A live person just kept telling me I was wrong and kept repeating the same thing over and over. The she transferred me to a supervisor who repeated the exact same thing! When I asked why the supervisor I talked to a month ago said I shouldnt have a bill until April 27 and theyd correct theyre wrong she just sat there.Every time I asked any question they just sat there repeating the same information. It was clear to me that theyve had multiple issues with this and came up with a generic response!! They didnt offer any sort of resolution so I said I wanted to cancel my service, which I never do! She told me they dont prorate anything so Id be paying for an extra week and a half. This company has the worst costumer service I have ever dealt with and they will not be successful if they continue with this sort of service. I dont even want ti see their final bill they sent me with a box to send back equipment.Initial Complaint

I signed up for their pre order fiber deal last august and paid $20. They still are "in the process" of installing on the south hill and are still not available in my area. I called and was pushed around for 2 hours when I finally got a manager who would look into refunding ************. I am still waiting on a call back, I don't want to call and waste 2 hours again for a refund of $20.Initial Complaint

Gave $25 deposit summer of 2019 to hold price quote when TDS was coming to our area. Was told would be first part of **************************************** south Meridian. Have been lied to numerous times as to when we will get service. Late September of 2022 went to their store front requesting a refund of our $25 which will be paid in a gift card and may take up to 3 weeks (not sure why so long), but still waiting almost 3 months. Gave me a order # 1-14293902302. Did go back to store front about a month ago, and told us to hold on another week. I have tried numerous times to contact their customer service, but they all seem to be very incompetent. Just trying to get my refund. Did find out will not we installing in this area until 2024/25. We received a door to door visit from a *****************************, about October of 2021. He was selling TDS TV fiber optic services and told us that they were installing the service in our area. We gave him $25 to secure eligibility for the hook up and prices that were less expensive then our current cable company. We were told that it would be installed either before the winter or in March or April of 2022. There was some evidence that the company was in our neighborhood in the Spring of 2022 but our street never received the service. When we called ********************** *************) in the Spring of 2022. he said that it would be August of 2022. We placed a call to ********************** again on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022. He then told us that it would be March or April of 2023. I asked him for my $25 back since I believe he broke the contract. He replied there is no contract and some people have waited 5 years. I would not have gone into this agreement if I knew it would be years. I believe that they should be upfront about the possibility of a long wait for services and should reimburse the initial fee.
