The scammer claimed to be working nearby and had ordered too much asphalt so they had extra that they needed to get rid of and he would do my driveway at a 45% discount. He wouldnt give me an exact price and insisted his guys start working before giving me a price. I called the nearby company they claimed to be working at and they were not receiving any work from this person at all. They scammer lied about the nearby work and the extra asphalt. They wanted to start work without a contract and wouldnt give a firm price. The scammer drove into my driveway and tried to sell me his services unannounced or solicited. Attempted: $4,800

We had a person from the company approached us at our ********** property and stating they could pave our driveway for approximately $3500 as they were in the neighborhood and had all the equipment needed to do the job. He did not do a written estimate. (first mistake on our; part not requesting it) My husband verbally agreed to it for the price of approximately $3500. When they were done, they handed him a bill for $9450. He paid it but felt the guy lied and used the bait and switch method to get the job. It is too bad because at the end of the day they did a good job. Shame on this company. I have sent emails to the owner, Thomas*****************, regarding this matter but have not gotten a response. When I am in the neighborhood, I plan to find out where else they were and talk to the owners and see if the same thing happened to them. The right thing to do would be to explain why the estimator was so far off and refund me half my money $4700 ($9450 vs $3500) as this would be more than fair for all parties involved. He obviously knew what the job was and if it was going to be different, he could have let us know before he started that he was wrong in his original estimate and the job would be more. I look forward to a response.Thank You,
