  We have a deck that needed restoration as the joists were rotting therefore the composite decking boards were not safe. Our steps had the same issue as did the privacy fence. I hired him through Thumbtack and am dealing with them to resolve the issues with his workmanship. Boards are uneven, attached privacy fence to rotten 2x12 stringer as well as anchoring the braces with screws. Left all the debris thrown all over and charged me $800 to paint railings and privacy fence which was not done! Stay away from this company!!!! One star for showing up!

  This company did a horrible job and customer service is terrible. I sent half of deposit in as agreed on. He gave me a start date but I asked specifically a time as I had to unlock gate so he could gain access and put my dogs away. No time just shoes up 6:30am. I was showering and keeping dogs in as on doesnt like strangers and is well over 100 lbs. my husband is a disabled vet and couldnt go outside as they were working on our twenty plus years deck. When through at or about noon I went out but didnt inspect anything as we were talking about adding a metal railing. I left for my appointment. When I got back we had a downpour and didnt look at or walk around till the next day. He put a privacy fence up wher support beams didnt match the one 4x4 which was cut on top and bottom on an angle to look more appealing, they just screwed on. In going through mud and all the wood they left I could see the did address any rot on the 2x12s that were rotten just screwed into rot! Then on ou steps he addressed that issue but were all different lengths! I had some old unuse composite I had stacked on the deck and instead of using the he just stuck the old step back on which were old and full of s**** holes! Left after five hours of work and I didnt Do a walk through just wrote the check as we had plans for a metal railing. Said hed get Back to me with a couple different options. That didnt happen. He just sent another invoice with the railing. He picked out and wanted another half upfront deposit. The next day I did a walk-through because I am 75 years old and it was muddy with wood all over, so I didnt wanna risk falling. I took pictures so my husband could see it and also had my grandson come out who is a production manager for a large company and said it was a **** job. This company sent me a completely different estimate fudging the numbers. My signature doesnt appear on fake contact only the original one I signed! Thumbtack has proof I sent a copy!
