We spent over $85,000 of our retirement money to replace our windows. We went with Pella because we thought we were getting apples to apples and because we thought we were getting high quality windows. We were wrong on both accounts. They are not the company they used to be. Customer service is horrible and we have huge buyers remorse. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARDED CASH ON THIS COMPANY!

I built a home two years ago and have had problems from the start with sweating and molding windows/front door. I tried to contact the builder and they told me the issues were due to drying plaster/paint and excessive showering, etc My husband swears the stickers on the windows said they were meant for a warmer climate zone south of WI, but the stickers are gone now so we cant prove it.Anyhow, I suffered through my second year of problems under the impression that things would improve, but as we entered our third year in the home, nothing had improved so I called Pella. I had to leave two voicemails a week apart, neither of which received return calls. On my third attempt, I got a customer service rep who told me that I had to keep my home at 20% humidity or I will have these problems. No offer to take my info or to come out and evaluate the situation, nothing. She acted as though I was at fault for the issue. There are three significant issues (beyond the water damage) I have with Pellas response: 1.) they are telling me their windows wont function correctly unless I have a dehumidifier that is set at 20%, 2.) there is nowhere that you will find that information on any of their website/commercials/ guidelines and 3.) my brand new dehumidifier instructions say set it at 35%. Poor customer service would be a fourth concern, especially if you are reading this review I am so dissatisfied that I wish I could give this company a -10. I filled out a formal complaint, but based on current experience and the reviews on this page, I dont expect a satisfactory response. I am likely to get the standard we understand your issues but response, if Im lucky. I wish I could share photos to let people see how bad it really is.

I would give this a zero star if it was an option. Horrible customer service. Bought an almost $20,000 window and once they received half of that, communication has been horrible. We spoke with Pella and explained to them that we were on vacation so if they try confirming an appt, we will not be able to do so as we are out of the country. What do they do…..confirm while we are out of the country. We get home and I receive a text message stating they’ve cancelled our window installation because we didn’t confirm. Reacheduled for later on in the month and when the workers showed up, they couldn’t install the window due to it being over 600lbs without a boom. They also stated that the Pella salesman never should’ve ordered a fixed window of that size for a second story house. Should’ve ordered where the frame goes in and then the windows. Got rescheduled for another day; got a call stating that the crew wasn’t available so we had to reschedule AGAIN. June 30th arrives and the crew shows up to install this heavy window. Wondered where the boom was to help install. Made a call to someone at Pella and Pella told them no boom was coming and to “figure it out”. My fixed window was taken all apart. They had to lift these huge windows up our staircase causing damage to the railings and hardwood floors in our room. I have called multiple times to address this and no one has called me back. They had no problems sending me the bill for the remaining cost. I have tried to remedy this over the phone but obviously they don’t care about their customer service. It has been a huge cluster dealing with them from day one. Would never recommend them to anyone. Maybe now I will actually get a call back. Since beginning of May, our blinds had to be removed, and our master bedroom in disarray so the furniture was out of the way. Had to deal with this for almost two months. Not to mention that this extra large window was setting in our garage taking up space.

Thank you for the review and the opportunity to address your concerns. I am very sorry to learn of the delays that you experienced. I know how stressful a home renovation can be and we certainly do not want to add stress during our projects. Our installation manager did leave you a voicemail this morning and I am hoping that you can connect with him at your convenience. Again, I am truly sorry for the delays that we have caused. Thank you!

Looking for Windows? Keep shopping. Pella is not a wise choice. Flashy radio advertisement and "special" financing for a product that is over priced and over hyped. They get their hooks into you, with a decent sales presentation, and that may be the highlight of your window journey. I guess unless you are a radio or tv star you are not to expect professional, best in class service. Every interaction with the Pella team, just built one bad brick upon another. Poor communication and lack of professionalism are the best you can expect. I am a sales engineer by trade, I know what after the sale customer service looks like. You won't find it here. I work regularly with tradesmen and products of this type---Only choose Pella if you want to pay 3-5x more to receive a mediocre product and a terrible window purchase and install experience.

We ordered a custom Picture Lifestyle Fixed Frame Window with a quoted 8-10wk lead-time teh end of August 2022. We paid cash up front for priority and discount. 12wks later we followed up on status as we heard nothing from the Pella of WI team only to learn our rep was no longer with the organisation. Furthermore, we received a flippant response that our order is scheduled for Feb. 2023 install. I asked for sales/ops director to contact me to discuss (crickets) and had to finally drive to the showroom to push the matter after no response to multiple requests to speak with a director. I requested to know what actions were taken to mitigate LT, and for a parts list holding up our order. AGAIN, crickets. A complete lack of professional responsibility. Last Pella window our home will have. however, the contracted install crew was exceptional! Best in class in my experience with contractor crews. The lead was highly professional, outstanding workmanship and was incredible with his directing his journeyman; patient, thorough in his tutorship and instructions. Couldn't be more impressed or pleased. They are responsible for our delay in posting this review...allowed my post to be reasoned where I was so put off by the sales/ops team my review would likely reflect how ****** off I was.

I purchased 3 windows for my apartment building in august of 2022. They were to be installed on November 22, 2022. The installers told me that they could not install the windows because of the metal above the windows needed to be replaced. I said, I am not the expert and would not have known this and should not have to bear the cost of as I hired a company to do so. The installers stated that that is not something that they do. I stated that is fine then give me a full refund for the cost of purchase. Ross ******* the manager stated that I would have to pay a $615.00 restocking fee. I stated that nothing was installed. I have emailed and called Ross ******* on several occasions with no response. At this time not only do I not have the windows installed but have not received my refund. They are holding my money hostage. I want a full refund for work not started nor completed at my property. ** ******

When we signed our contract for new windows we thought we were getting quality with Pella windows. We learned quickly that when there is a problem they are quick to wash their hands and pass the buck on a problem. Our new picture window and frame were bent from the factory, a piece had been installed improperly. When Pella came out to remove the piece, they removed the 'centering block' as they called it and threw it away saying it wasn't needed. We checked the lower frame and sash with a straight edge to prove further that the frame was indeed bent from the block. Rep was going to contact installer and have them ***** the frame straight". They also found the side sash was damaged so a complete window/sash assembly was ordered. In talking to other Pella installers, their comments were to not let them do that. The new parts showed up, the Pella repair people showed up without calling first to make sure anyone was home and stuck the new window/sash assembly in, scratching the framework and not dealing with the bent frame work. When I contacted Pella rep I was told that they had the right to cure and they had done so, that remaining issues were installation problems and he recomended I give the installer a chance to repair their mistake. The installer did come, removed the trim covering the mount plate, cut said plate and shimmed the lower frame until it was straight and put it all back together. And I was handed a bottle of touch up paint to take care of Pellas scratches. All this being said Pella clearly passed the buck onto the installers for their mistake, have pictures to prove it. There are there are the same and better quality windows available in the Madison **** at a much more competitive price. Do yourself a favor, do your research before you purchase Pella because of their reputation.

The service of installed windows is really bad. 2 different times they ordered the wrong replacement parts. This resulted in a wait of months to get the service done. The charge in order to make a service appointment. If you dont pay they will not schedule an appointment. We had warranty work done 2 weeks ago after waiting for the parts to be ordered the second time. We were told the appointment fee was 100 dollars. Called today to schedule an appointment. No parts ordered yet. Have to check first. Told and payed 175;dollars or they would not schedule the appointment. When she did it was for Jan 4 2023.. so they play with my money till the appointment. I dont like paying for services until I receive them. I feel they really need to improve the service department and its policies.

In 2021 we ordered a new blind; the original had broken cords. The blind ordered was for the opposite door, then reordered and shipped to the customer to install per their request. This year we ordered new w/s for the customer, the new one sent was torn from the factory and needed to be reodered.which has been done and sent to the customer. Most recently, the customer called in to have blinds adjusted, customer is out of both labor and material warranty (product is from 2007), we collected the service fee and scheduled a visit. The customer then called back to cancel the service visit, we credited the service fee and quoted a new blind per their request. As of right now, all service orders are closed.
