Signed a contract while being verbally told something else. Trusted American foundation specialists with the verbalization of doing one thing, excavating corner of house, sealing corner of wall 5 feet sealing 5 foot wall verbally, and replacing slab for rear entry doorway. However, excavating was not put into contract, ****, the owner of American foundation specialist wrote 5 foot wall on contract in different area of contract as he was verbally talking to us at the time of signing of the contract. American foundation removed 1 yard of concrete, and used approximately 1 yard of concrete for the repair. Repaired wall sill under rear entry door. 29 by 5 deep. I can understand an expensive repair bill that would justify that amount of money if they had to excavate the corner of my house, reseal my basement wall, fix the sill plate, backfill, and then put a new slab for my entry doorway like he verbally explained. However, it was not written down, verbatim in the contract of his spoken words, I wish I had a tape recorder going at the time he was speaking. I have had two other contractors. Look at it since the repair was done. Of the two contractors that looked at it, the highest bid wouldve been $3000 maximum of the job performed. When it came time to collect, I asked ****, the owner of American foundation specialist why he did not excavate and seal my walls, and he said it wasnt written down on the contract. All he did was come and repair a small sill plate beneath my rear door and lay a slab and small sidewalk. My Wife asked him why he only put in a sidewalk and not repair the outside walls. His reply was well we put in sidewalks too My wife said, why would I call a basement foundation repair place to put in sidewalk and not fix our basement? He didnt have an answer for that he just wanted the rest of his money. We paid the bill or he was going to Lien our home. Our basement still leaks. Repair/replaced Side walk was around 1 yard.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I would like the Better Business Bureau to understand, that we called American foundation specialist to come in and look at our basement wall that needed to be patched.
They did nothing to the front of our home. I dont know what that is all about.
American foundation specialist quoted me a price and charge me $9310.00 to come into my house and repair a 28 x 6 deep repair under a door sill that was decaying and put in a new 7 foot long sidewalk that had to be removed before the repair could be made.
They were not there to put in a new sidewalk, they were called into repair my basement wall.
Their explanation of events is a lie and absolutely makes no sense at all.
If you have any common sense at all, a customer, you would never use ****************, because they will lie to you
I agreed to the $9310, because ****, the owner, said he was going to come in to my home, and excavate the corner of my house 5 feet down on both sides of the corner of the house, reseal the corner of the house that was leaking, and then backfill the corner of the house. Being the **** consumer that I was, I was listening to his words and sign the contract instead of completely reading, what he had written down in the contract. Shame on him for lying to me.
There is no good reason why any person would call a basement ****************** to come and replace a sidewalk. They were called to come and replace a basement wall and repair a leaky basement. Not to replace a sidewalk.
I meant they were called to come in and repair a leaky basement wall not replace a basement wall

    Regards,
