1 starWhen purchasing a screen fix, I was asked for my pin to ensure the screen change worked. They told me to come back in 90 minutes. Instantly my previously full battery ran out of charge within 2 hours and two days later my ******* account was hacked. The people who fixed my phone screen are criminals. This was in *********, **.Review fromEllen P.

1 starI took my Macbook Air to Batteries Plus at ******************************************************************************************** to have the battery replaced. I took the computer home and it would only work for limited periods of time when not plugged in. I returned to the store, my money was refunded but I had to leave the computer there to take out the battery for return. After picking up the computer, it now had no display when booting up. I took it to a ***************** and an evaluation there showed that not all screws had been replaced, the battery was not connected and the display cable had been cut, a clean cut, not an accidental tearing. After being told that a new display, using Apple parts, would cost $700, I decided to purchase a new Macbook Air. In subsequent days, I contacted the district manager of Batteries Plus, explained the problem and asked for restitution of $700. He said that he hoped to "wrap this up" the same afternoon. After that time, I received little response by phone or email. After my son wrote to him on my behalf, he emailed both of us a response, blaming the Mac techs who evaluated the damage, my version of the story, pretty much anyone but the employees at the store. At this point, I don't expect any form of restitution from Batteries Plus but, as a consumer, I want to warn others of the treatment I received from staff and management. In my closing response to the district manager, I shared a call I made to the Better Business Bureau in which an associate there shared with me that although not accredited by the bureau, this store has a rating of F for not resolving numerous complaints within the last three years. I add this complaint to that list.Review fromLane W

1 starThis place took advantage of my wife. She went in to replace our sub pump battery bought in 2018 ******** which was purchased at the Batteries Plus location in Lake Zurich.
May 2022 my wife went into the Crystal Lake Batteries Plus they sold her an old battery dated es 2020 they sold her the wrong battery ******** by the actual store owner/manger. She was actually sent to this store from the Lake Zurich location because they were sold out of the ******** model without being upfront with my wife they literally sold her what they thought was comparable so here I am a couple months later having to buy a new battery yes I went in to speak to them and happen to run into the owner/manager of this franchise he tested the battery said it was ok but problem is it’s the wrong battery our sub pump battery backup system is rejecting its use keeps tripping the alarm the owner/manger advice was to get the system checked just for peace of mind I did they recommended I change the battery i did call corporate they verified I was sold the wrong battery as I purchased from batteries plus before back in 2018 the owner of this location Crystal Lake said if I bought another battery that I would be a proud owner of 2 battery’s since he would not exchange the battery even though he keeps lluvia sold my wife an old battery and the wrong one. Nice way to have a customer get stuck with a product that is not compatible for its intended use. RUN FROM THIS LOCATION as the owner/manager is not in favor of fixing the mistake he made when he personally sold the battery to my wifeReview fromRodney F.

1 starI called Batteries Plus to purchase a new battery for my 2010 Dodge Avenger, I decided to call to make sure they were able to service my make and model vehicle due to the difficult area the battery was located. I called on a Friday after 10am and was asked to hold by the associate, I held for 8 minutes before my call was dropped. I then called back 2 times and was sent to an answering machine both times. On the 3rd attempt a different employee answered and asked me to hold, which I refused and stated I had already been put on hold once and disconnected. She replied, "Just let me punch in and I'd be happy to help you" She returned promptly and took my information for my vehicle and said that there wasn't anyone in the store that could service my car until Sunday. I specifically asked if they were sure that they serviced my vehicle due to the difficult installation process, she said there may be a difficult install fee, which I then asked if that applies to my vehicle. She asked her coworker to verify the correct information then told me that fee would not apply to my car and that I could schedule an appointment online. So, I proceeded to the website and clicked the battery instillation tab which provided basic instructions to set up an appointment. I had no trouble finding the battery, but I couldn't find where I had to click for the instillation appointment. So, I called back the store to tell them about my issue with the website and the employee said he could manually enter my instillation appointment in their store computer. So, I purchased the battery and left it at that. I decided to call the next day to confirm my Sunday appointment and it had not yet been entered into their system, so I told the employee that I purchased a battery yesterday and was told by the employee working yesterday that he would manually schedule my appointment. He scheduled the appointment only to call back 2 hours later and tell me they don't service my vehicle.***** was very RUDE!Review fromLOIS L.

1 starwent to Battery Plus in Blaine MN to purchase a new battery for my 2015 Nissan Juke. the manager of the store helped me, put in battery. I took it home, once it was near the car it stet off the car alarm, regardless of where we placed the fob. I took the fob back to the store, the person checked the battery, put a new one in, it did the same thing, setting off the alarm. He told me the fob was bad and not connected to his battery. I took the fob to the Nissan dealer, they said Fobs seldom go bad, checked the battery to find that the store had used a CR2032 battery instead of the CR2025 that was called for this fob. I went back to the store, showed the person the problem and asked for the correct number to be noted on my account. He checked and said that the CR2025 is noted on the account and expressed surprise that the manager would have used the different number CR2032. "Sorry, have a good day" was his response. they did not offer to help in any way. I now have a fob that cannot be used, to replace is several hundred dollars. I feel Battery Plus caused the damage to the fob as it worked fine until the battery needed replacing.Review fromDennis B

1 starI purchased some led bulbs from Batteries and Bulbs Norton Shores Michigan store in April or May of 2022. Returned the bulbs being defective. Was told they couldn’t credit my card and would send a check. Never got a check. Filed a complaint with BBB. BBB never got a response. I finally received a check for the items returned on August 7,2022.Review fromAdrian C.

1 starI purchased a car battery from Batteries Plus in Kannapolis on December 24, 2022. It was placed in a Nissan Armada. Over the 6.5 months I drove the car and when I went to crank the car last week, The car would not crank. I took the battery out and immediately returned it to The Batteries Plus Store and to my surprise they said the battery was not warrantable and that the battery was not repairable. They in no way took any ownership or accountability for the defective battery. Beyond the defective battery the one of the store clerks was terribly rude and was insulting to the point that I had to ask him to please stop talking to me. I have never purchased anything from Batteries Plus but due to my experience I would never purchase anything from them in the future and I would say to those contemplating doing business with any Battery Plus, Buyer Beware.Review fromShelly K.

1 starWent in to have my iphone8 battery replaced and the SIM card was damaged as a result of the replacement. I was given the phone back and told sorry even though the phone was rendered completely useless because it will no longer charge. I was only charged for half of the normal cost of a battery replacement but needless to say I don't feel I should have been charged anything.Review fromJohn B

1 starGood afternoon: My mother paid $14.73 on 5.18.2022 for a new watch battery. The watch has been stopping and/or losing time since. It's only 2 months to the date the battery (1 5V silver oxide) was replaced at this store. This is a very basic watch, owned by an older lady....just time and date, no other bells and whistles. Her previous battery in this same watch lasted 5 years. It would seem the battery placed was defective. We just left the store. My mother was able to present her original receipt dated a mere 2 months ago. The attendant was very ambiguous and we thought he said the battery would be replaced at no charge one time. Then he came out and proceeded to try to charge my mother AGAIN for the full amount. I asked him to replace the original battery at that point. All very shady, as they replace batteries out of sight so my mother has no idea if the battery she paid for was actually a new one. Seems a little old lady was scammed. Wish I had a MINUS 5 star rating option.
