Misleading information from a credit union loan officer This loan officer put in an application on my behalf and told me that the car dealership put in the application. and it was denied by their credit union. This practice has now caused me concern for possibly applying else where This loan officer underhandedly put my credit score or other loan applications at risk of being denied I called his manager and have not heard back from the manager at all.Business Response

My credit score has been impacted by unauthorized activities conducted by Marine Credit Union. Additionally, there is a delinquent auto loan reflected on my credit report that I did not authorize in any manner, whether verbally or via signature. I contacted Marine Credit Union on February 3rd, 2023, and talked with Gabby. She kindly verified that my name and information were not included in the paperwork for the auto loan and then transferred me to a manager. During our discussion, I explained that this auto loan belongs to my husband, as we've been separated for four years, and he cosigned for it. I want to clarify that I wasn't present to sign any documents and did not give permission for this to affect my credit, so I kindly requested removal of this entry as soon as possible. For the last three years, my tax status has been married filing separately. The only reason my address is on file is that my husband updated it within the last six months without informing me. We have indeed been living in separate homes for over four years now. I applied for an auto loan and was denied due to this activity. I have never given permission, nor provided my personal information or signed any documentation for this loan to appear on my credit report. This situation has significantly impacted and compromised both my personal circumstances and my self-employed business.I respectfully request the immediate removal of this matter from my credit as soon as possible.Business Response

We have had 3 modifications on our less than $500,000 mortgage loan balance. Our original contract was for a 15 year arm. During this last modification, Marine held a property on Hwy 83 as additional collateral. It was to be released at the end of the modification. Marine has refused so far to do so. We have an appraisal on our home of $1 million. Our loan balance is below $500,000 yet they want to hold the Hwy 83 property as additional collateral even though they have no right to since the modification has ended. They have told me that they are having their attorneys reviewing it. They are not willing to let it go. In addition, they are raising our monthly mortgage payment to $8,300 per month. We have been told that they want us to have the $500,000 mortgage paid off by 2032. That would be a 7 year mortgage which we never agreed to. Our loan documents state a 15 year mortgage. The only employee that has acted in good faith or integrity has been ****** *********. Otherwise, I have tried to reach the CEO's office and on two occasions, I have had other employees tell me that they were in the CEO's office but they were not. They told me they would get back to me, but they did not. I find that embarrassing for Marine. We have been demeaned by the collection department verbally. We can deal with the personal issues at Marine but we need help with the release of our Hwy 83 property and the 7 year loan that was never part of our mortgage.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Please type your response here.]
The communication as short and brief as it is from Marine through the BBB, does not suffice. It says nothing as to the release of the property at Hwy 83. I have not had the property released or communication from them as to that effect. Communication as to when I can expect them to release the property is needed The modification has expiredThank you,

I have a loan with this credit union. I have been late in the past and I own up to that. When I am current on the loan I have asked numerous times to be contacted by a loan officer to get refinanced and never get a call in return. I have called back on a lot of occasions and still get no where. Currently my vehicle has been repossessed. I would still like to be able to keep it but can't afford the payment of $900/month which is why I have asked A LOT to get refinancing. This credit union has not been helpful in any way at all. They are rude and inconsiderate.Business Response

Since I have had a car loan through Marine Credit Union for a couple years I have reached out to them on financial hardships and trying to figure out options to lower my payment. September of this year I spoke to their debt collection department and the employee stated that they would release the car lien at the amount of $15,450. I was not initially told that I would be responsible for the remainder of my loan which was $2400. I was only told the amount that I needed to sell the car for. I went to a dealership and confirmed over email messages on September 3, 2024 that I needed the pay off of $15,450 and the dealership would need to wait 10 days until the check cleared and Marine Credit Union would release the lien. The dealership I went to agreed to purchase the car from me at that amount and they financed me with a different bank for a different vehicle. It is now September 30th and the dealership is being told that Marine Credit Union needs the full amount that I owe on the car before they release the title. I have the emails from Marine Credit Union stating the opposite. I am now stuck with two vehicle payments in my name and the Marine Credit Union loan is now late and charging me for this months payment even though this transaction was agreed on September 3rd. I have been in financial hardship and needed a cheaper vehicle option that Marine Credit Union will not release and is backing on their pay off amount agreed giving me extra balance that I owe them as negative equity that was not told to me right away and will also take a hard hit on my credit soon with the dealership not able to sell my vehicle that I traded in.Customer Answer

According to the *** "Generally, if a debt for which you are personally liable is forgiven or discharged for less than the full amount owed, the debt is considered canceled in whatever amount it remained unpaid." Marine Credit Union wrote my remaining balance off as a charge off. I would like it removed off of my credit report immediately.Business Response

I pulled my Consumer reports from (Equifax, *************************************** and I notice Marine Credit Union has furnished an account there as a charge off. A charge off is a cancelled debt.Where a form 1099C must be issued to me, but Marine Credit Union continue to conceal 1099C (cancellation of Debt) from me, stating Marine Credit Union still can collect on a cancelled debt. The collection on a cancelled debt that has been charge off constitutes tax fraud and the matter will be reported to the **** I still demand the statement of account and the *****.Business Response

Member requesting that Marine Credit Union edit his credit report to remove a charged off debt, as he believes that a charged off debt means that debt is cancelled and therefore, he is no longer responsible for that debt. This is not the case. A charged off debt does not equal a cancelled debt; therefore the member is still held responsible for that debt. Marine Credit union will not edit the member's credit report, as the data reported is accurate.
Thank you.

I was notified yesterday about my account being hacked where 360 was being attempted on taken out of my account. I disputed this asap. It was processing yesterday. Today it ended up being taken out of my account even though it was blocked and I got a new card. I notified them of this and still am not getting my money back in which this was money I had saved up to take my family on vacation this weekend. Very unsatisfied and felt as tho it is not getting resolved. I just want my money back that was taken from me when I did everything I was supposed to do and they should have blocked the charges while it was processing.Business Response

When we spoke with the member she didn't think the fraudulent charges would actually post to her account, but they did. The merchant said the amount would be credited back to her account, but that it would take ***** business days. The member needed the money prior to that time, so we issued a credit to the member's account to get her by until the reimbursement came. Member was pleased with this outcome and we now consider this matter closed.
Thank you.
