I took my 2019 Ford Escape to Dahl to be serviced prior to Warranty Expiration at 28,000 miles. They replaced a faulty engine as the coolant was leaking into it. I returned it 50,000 miles later when it sputtered and wouldn't accelerate, the engine light started flashing. I called Dahl took it in to have "diagnosed" which cost me $170. I was told the spark plugs and brake pads needed to be replaced at a cost of $1600. "Re-Diagnosed" They found one of the new spark plugs was Burnt out from the Coolant leaking into the engine block and that the Engine would need to be replaced. Dahl Refuses to help cover outrageous cost of repairs despite numerous attempts.

Overcharged, fraudulent, and unhelpful. The rate of pay and hours of labor in three days was 10 hours. For bumper removal, replacement, and paint.

On Feb 8th, 2024 I went to Dahl Automotive La Crosse to inquire about a 2010 Buick Enclave that had just came in to the Dahl Automotive in Winona. I met with salesperson Gene ******, who gave me all the info about the car, and he also told me the car would come with a 30 day/1000 mile warranty. I put a 500.00 deposit on the car so I would have first chance to buy or refuse it. Gene ****** told me they would have the car brought to the LaCrosse Dealership. On Feb 9th, another salesperson, Dustin ******, called me and said the car would be in LaCrosse on Saturday Feb 10th. During this call, I asked Dustin about the "Dahl Advantage" warranties I had read about online the previous evening. He told me that the warranties are based on the age and mileage of the vehicle, and that this Enclave would have the 30 day/1000 mile warranty. That same day (Feb 9th) I went to the bank and got a cashiers check incase I decided to buy it after looking it over and test driving it on the 10th. On Feb 10th, I test drove the car, looked it over and decided to buy it. While going through the paperwork with business Danielle ******, she told me there would be no 30 day/1000 mile warranty with the car. I told her, Gene ****** said there would be a warranty. She left the office and returned several minutes later and said 'there is no warranty'. I wanted the car so I bought it, but it was under some duress because of the disappearing warranty scam. 2 different salespeople told me I'd get a warranty. In the end Dahl Automotive didn't give it to me. I don't know if that's common practice at Dahl but it sucks that they did that.

A little over a year ago I purchased a 2020 Audi Q3. On day 3 it rained after a long dry spell. I had water leaking in everywhere, I immediately texted our salesman *****, who helped me set a time to bring it back. They assured me it was fixed. The next rain I left my car outside to see if it was fixed and again it leaked, fast forward a few months of fighting and I took it to another dealership who strongly suggested I go back and make them trade. They offered me half of what I paid, and we negotiated back to a point near my purchase price. I was fed up and had it in for repairs numerous times. We found out that the dealership had used my extended warranty for the leaking sunroof. They traded me for a nice vehicle which I paid sticker price for. I like the vehicle and pleased. On the way home I noticed my oil light showing low, so I looked when I got home, it was low on oil. 8 called the service department to be told, "your vehicle takes x amount of quarts which is more than most normal SUVs. I was told to add a quart and see if the sensors went off. They did so I figured it was just an error. On day 7, I noticed that the oil light came on close to home, so I got to my driveway and checked. My husband noticed a trail of oil coming up our driveway. By this point warning lights were going off. I knew I had to have it towed so I called another dealership. When they inspected it he asked me who changed the oil, I told him I just bought it. He proceeds to tell me the oil plug was stripped and the cover wedge in and cracked, the housing over the oil reservoir was covered in caked on oil. This cost me over $360 for a tow and an oil change. I sent **** a letter requesting reimbursement but no one responded.

We purchased a Mazda CX-5 AWD vehicle from Dahl Automotive in La Crosse on February 28, 2022. The vehicle had 107, 430 miles. By May of 2023, the vehicle had been in various automotive repair shops because the check-engine light kept coming on. From March 31, 2022 to May 12, 2023 the vehicle had been in five (5) different times to various automotive repair shops in the Madison area for the cooling system to be flushed and coolant replaced. The leakage of coolant was occurring internally. In addition, there was excessive heat under the hood even though no heating system was turned on. Finally, in mid-May the vehicle was returned to Dahl Automotive at 711 3rd Street South for an inspection. The Service Department Manager informed us that the engine needed to be replaced. We feel that Dahl knew that the engine was defective when they sold the vehicle to us back in February 2022. Or we suspect that Dahl knew something major was wrong with this vehicle having consulted with Mazda's Technical Service Bulletin (TSB).
