The app Fetch is fraudulently claiming that if consumers buy particular products and then scan the receipt, they will receive higher than normal points (e.g. instead of the standard 25, they can receive *****). However, on 2/10/24, I decided to purchase some of the highlighted products that Fetch posted for "bonus" points. I have been using this app and am familiar with how to redeem receipts for points. However, when I tried to redeem these purchases for the points, the points were not credited. I have been trying to resolve this issue with Fetch through the only consumer service option they have, email, and I am getting what must be AI responses as they do not make sense, are replying with actions that have no relevance, are not answering my questions---it is just gibberish. The responses are just denial of any responsibility for crediting points and making excuses that are categorically untrue (like they don't accept receipts from Giant Foods, yet I have gotten points from this exact same store before). I would not have gotten the items that I purchased had they not offered such high reward points for buying these items. I have sent them picture pictures of the receipt to PROVE they owe me ***** points. In the pictures I have sent, it clearly shows the date, the store, the items purchased that match their promotion, the quantity---everything required. The fact that it is so obviously AI responding to customer complaints, with no other means of getting help, speaks to their obvious strategy of getting people to buy items from companies that are paying Fetch to promote them, yet the Fetch app has no intentions of providing the points promised to the consumer. This is absolutely scamming consumers into buying items in the hopes of getting the high points rewards, only to find out that these points will not be given. The items I purchased were the Nature Valley granola bars and the Smartfood popcorn (both listed on the attached receipt).Business Response

Hello! Thank you for reaching out to the Fetch team!
We have reviewed this user's recent Support Ticket request of *******. We see that this user is attempting to scan a printed eReceipt on a printer paper. Physical submissions of eReceipts are not accepted at this time. All eReceipts can only be accepted by utilizing the eReceipt feature, this is done by connecting an accepted email address domain and tapping the blue 'e' within the Fetch app.
As this user's eReceipt was printed on printer paper, and as we do not accept ************ as an accepted eReceipt retailer, this receipt can not be accepted.
We encourage this user to review our accepted 'eReceipt Criteria' to obtain credit for their future orders. Our eReceipt Criteria can be reviewed here: ***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

I noticed on ***** my point total was zero. I looked in my account and saw **** in points were deducted and my just requested $5 **** reward request was declined. When I asked fetch rewards why I was told I violated terms. And was rudely told my points would not be reinstated in bold letters. I was told purchases were not personal or made by my household. A random computer program judged me wrong. I have been going through chemo for almost a year now. Most receipts were only 25 points. All receipts were from household purchases. If you are referring to the ************* Receipts. I had 2 receipts myself that read ****** because I could only do one promo deal per order. The other ******* are my house hold. Everyone pays for their own purchases to teach financial responsibility. I think I should almost thank Fetch. Several hours of time for $5. Then instead of denying certain receipts as they are entered Fetch decides to deduct all points. All other complaints on the BBB basically have my same issue. Fetch waits until you redeem a reward then decides your receipts are invalid.

I have had the hardest time getting points on items I purchased through my email address. I have complained several times on this matter and never got it resolved so I let it go for awhile. I screenshot Fetch a receipt on January 28,2024 on a purchase through email with Instacart to get my points. I received a email for their customer support indicating that my Yahoo address is not supported by Fetch (ticket #*******). Ive been with Fetch for a few years and my email address has always been on my records. Ive never heard that email address was not acceptable from other support representative until today.Business Response

Hello and thank you for reaching out to the Fetch Team!
We apologize for any confusion surrounding accepted email domains. Our Team is currently enhancing the scan accuracy of our eReceipt feature. The upgraded version currently works with Gmail on iOS and Android, as well as Outlook on iOS. Some stores have full retailer connections, meaning any email address can be used for those accounts.
While our team is actively working on expanding connection options, if this user wants to earn credit on future eReceipts from this retailer in the meantime, they can create a Gmail address. Then, update their online shopping accounts with this new Gmail address, connect it to the eReceipt feature, and start earning points for their upcoming email receipts!

If this had been told to me when I first joined, I would acknowledge that response and if wanted to continue with Fetch, I would have done so then. Company is stating that because I made returns in purchases they have deactivated my account. Upon email exchanges they said they will not go into any further details and are closing my case with them. Instead of taking back the point for rewards that were returned, they are closing it out instead of granting my thousands of points for other transactions, games and referrals they are taking those.Business Response

All purchases (scans of receipts) are for points. You also receive points for referrals and playing sponsored games. If you make a return after a purchase then the company should deduct the amount of points for that particular purchase. They should not just decide to freeze your account and then respond with that is there response without further investigation or information from them. They told me I should find another app to suit my needs.

I have been an avid user of ********************** for a couple of years now. I have never had an issue redeeming points for any gift card amounts, until recently. I tried to redeem ****** points for a $25.00 ******* gift card. Fetch declined my request to redeem those points AND took an additional ****** points away from my account. When I reached out to them to ask why my request was declined and why they also took additional points away from me, they claimed that theyve noticed a trend where I am snapping receipts that are not mine. This is 100% false. I am an extreme couponer who happens to travel a lot. I have never submitted any receipt that is not my own. I asked them what gave them the impression that those were not my receipts and they never responded. I have opened numberous tickets with them in regards to this matter and they will not respond. The only way customers can contact them is through opening a digital, written ticket through the app or emailing them. Their settings and only means of response is sending automated messages. I cannot get in touch with anybody real. I have called the phone number I found for them on ****** and it tells me that phone support is not available & to contact them through email. I have done that several times to no avail. I am not happy that they stole my hard earned points at a total of ****** total which is equivalent to just over $40.00. This is unacceptable and so very wrong. I can produce proof that those are each my own transactions. I have bank statements showing I made those purchases, I have the physical receipts on hand, and I can pull my GPS routes to show I was at those locations that match the address on each receipt. I coupon mostly at Dollar General on Saturdays so that I can utilize their store coupon of save $5.00 when you spend $25.00. It is NOT abnormal for me to do ***** transactions at any given Dollar General location on a Saturday. Stealing from customers is NOT a good business practice. Ridiculous!Business Response

Fetch says I have used receipts that are not mine but that is 100% false. They need to show me which ones they are saying are not mine. Since I coupon, I tend to keep the majority of my receipts. I can show bank statements for each transaction I do. I can even go as far as pulling my travel history within my gps app to show I was physically at each location where the transactions were done. I have many ways that I can prove this.

Fetch is an online app that you use like coupons. I buy a product and receive money for the product. On 1/18/24 they stole the points I had accumulated. They claimed I had submitted a receipt that I had not made the purchase. That is a lie. On that day I had resubmitted a receipt that I had already submitted. I submit between 4 and 10 receipts at a time and accidently resubmitted one. I have done that many times. They have never taken away my points. And I am only assuming that is the reason. Because in my many emails to them asking that they show me the receipt they are refusing to do so. All my receipts will have the same credit card number. I only pay for my coupon items with two certain cards. That both have my name. They also asked for my drivers license number. This should be illegal. I dont give over my drivers license at the store when I use a coupon. Why should I trust an online site with my personal info They took over ****** points from me. I have only received rudeness from the person who I am emailing with.Business Response

I had been using the Fetch app consistently for more than 9 months, following all the rules and guidelines and enjoying the deals they offered. In late December 2023 this all changed when Fetch refused to reimburse my points worth approximately $70.00, stating that there was a trend in my activity that violated their terms. My reimbursement requests were denied (I discovered this while in line at the store during the holidays while attempting to use one of my gift cards) and all of my points were removed from my account. Of course there was no specificity as to what I may have done incorrectly and I was told that there was no way to give me my accrued points back. I wrote to them requesting clarification and requested my points be reimbursed at the least since I have seen that in many responses to customers on the Better Business Bureau website alone. My communication was not responded to. My account remained open and I was receiving points but just not being reimbursed. I attempted one final receipt and a small reimbursement and this too was declined with no further information. Fetch simply refuses to pay me for what I have earned and refuses to answer as to why. I see other users with the same problems as I have receiving notification of a trend in their activity, not being paid for offers from Klondike and Penetrex in December and January, and being declined reimbursement for the money that have earned after using the app for extended periods of time. I have not encountered this problem with any other couponing/rebate app and therefore recommend users cash out early and often and use extreme caution if you continue to use the Fetch app.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. There still is no clarification as to how there was a violation of the terms of service. It also again doesnt make sense that the explanation is all my receipts and points were somehow invalidated and there is a blanket deduction of my points. Especially when the majority of my accumulated points came from two large transactions. All the receipts were approved and points awarded. Again, it was only upon attempted redemption that my entire activity was deducted from my account.
There have been multiple occasions where receipts have had errors or been ruled duplicates when they were not. These receipts may have been for curbside orders at ********* and other receipts from transactions close in time but they were all separate transactions with different order numbers. Your system didnt recognize that and those are the only receipts I have ever had rejected. I still dont understand how receipts were approved for purchases and then when I tried to redeem them later they are taken back.
I have never partaken in fraudulent behavior of any kind;not on your app/site or any place else. Your treatment and your comments are highly offensive.

Fetch works on the premise of rewarding consumers with gift cards to businesses of their choice if they purchase certain products and the "points" add up to an amount that you can trade them in for said gift cards. I had ****** points stolen from me. I attempted to trade my points in for a gift card to a business of my choice. It was declined, the points were deducted from my account, and never returned. The reasoning for the theft of my points were, according to Fetch, were that receipts that I had submitted were not solely purchased by me. I can provide bank statements for every purchase during this time period. I feel that I have been stolen from and given an sub-standard. I used the application as it was intended. I have never intentionally misused this product in the last 6 months. I feel I have been taken advantage by the Fetch app and would like my stolen points reinstated, so I can continue to use the fetch app as intended. I have given this app so my references during my use of it and bee the results of many additional downloads and use ofs said app.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Attached you will find receipts that I submitted, not knowing that they weren't valid. They were initially awarded at the time they were scanned, but were deducted shortly after. These are the only rejected receipts that I have in my 2023 and **** history besides receipts that were incidentally scanned twice. I have repeatedly asked what receipts went against rules and regulations. Again the attached receipt points were deducted many months ago. All other receipts were goods purchased by my exclusively. I request that my points be reinstated and a list of receipts that went against the rules implied be sent as evidence. I had ****** points stolen from my account. Please return them and do the right thing.
Regards,

Hello! Thank you for reaching out to the Fetch team!
We reviewed this user's account once more and with our investigation, we found that this user was submitting receipts not purchased by the user themselves to obtain points in a way that is not accepted under our Terms of Service. The submissions of the receipts that they did not pay for resulted in the removal of the points obtained from the submitted receipts.
This user will not be getting these points back, due to this receipt violating our Terms of Service. We encourage this user to review our Terms of Service with specific regard to Fraudulent Activity, section 28 (***************************************************).
If the user has any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at **********************************.
Warm regards,
