***************** of Appliance Service Pros convinced my wife and me to forego purchasing a new refrigerator on August 17, 2023 because he assured us he could fix our ** refrigerator that had stopped working. He assured us that there are 'new compressors' for the notoriously poor **s and that he had replaced them 'over 800 times.' He further assured us that the repair would mean that the refrigerator would last '10 to 15 years' with the replacement. He replaced the compressor August 17th. The refrigerator was not cold on August 18th. He returned and performed work on August 18th and it stayed cold until September 3rd. He inspected the refrigerator on September 5 and said there was a slow leak and it needed refrigerant and he was out. We did not hear from him until September 8, despite numerous calls and texts from us. He came on September 8 and said that he needed an evaporator. He assured us he'd be back on September 10, and when he arrived, he realized he had the wrong part. He came on September 11 and replaced the part. On September 20, the refrigerator stopped working again. During this entire time period, he made several assurances on the times he would arrive and only sometimes abided by those times. On at least two occasions he did not show up and did not call us to tell us he would not be there. On several occasions, we rearranged our work schedules and canceled personal appointments in the hopes that he would arrive when he said he would. We have incurred costs that include but are not limited to lost food, purchase of bags of ice to keep food cold, and a small temporary refrigerator all because of his inability to perform the work he promised and his lack of communication. We are seeking return of the money we paid him and will not pursue payment from him of the costs we incurred because of his failure.
