Ridge Top did a fine job on my roof, but informed me that the chimney is in bad shape. I have been getting quotes to fix the problem. Consensus is that the chimney needs to be taken down. I do not need it any longer and want it removed and the roof closed and shingles applied. No shingles were left with me. I contacted Ridge Top, and one of their reps got back to me to say shingles are available and their crew could do the entire job. I have since contacted the original salesman and the other person who had called me about it. I have not had any response from either. Summer storms are on their way, and the chimney poses a hazard.

Hello, we contacted this customer and visited their home last week to discuss the chimney work. The customer decided they no longer want to have any work done with the chimney and there is nothing further for us to do. Thank you.

I had siding on my house replaced by Ridge Top Exteriors and in the process the workers trampled my flowers in my landscaping that I had just planted the same year. The flowers were expensive and all died as a result. I have since been in contact with the company and been promised reimbursement even after providing exact value of the plants. There has been no reimbursement from the company. The value of the plants is $210.00.

Hello - the $210 reimbursement will be mailed this week. Thank you

On 4/28/22, I signed a contract to have roof, siding, gutters and downspouts replaced after hail storm in April of 2022. On 08/31 I received a text that materials were in; stating they would be delivered on 09/16. They came on 09/15 unannounced. Thankfully, I was home to get our vehicle out of the third stall garage, so it wasn't blocked in. I was scheduled for install on 09/21, only for me to verify via text on 09/20 that they would be coming the next day. ******, Project Manager, informed me that installation would not take place until 10/3. On 9/29, I learned that they would be doing work on 9/30; not enough notice for me to request off from work. After installation, the problems were the following:Incorrect Board and ****** color was placed on garage ***** Cable from home was cut and not removed properly Supplies were not ordered correctly, therefore, they could not finish the job; leaving no outdoor lights (which I use regularly for safety and to take pet outside)Outdoor outlets had been tampered with and replaced incorrectly Roof has holes in bottom of shingles, which are filled in with tar Ridge Top Exteriors has since placed on the correct Board and ****** color, however, changed the strip beneath to the incorrect color in the meantime; leaving it dented and wavy due to so much handling. The electrical outlets were replaced, without permission and without notification, by vinyl siding installers due to miscommunication per my conversation with ***** on 10/4/22. I noticed that these electrical boxes looked to be installed incorrectly. I have since contacted the Greenville Building Inspector who stated that the company should have applied for a permit for the electrical work, as well had a licensed electrician put in the new outlets. On 10/5/22, I did send pictures into the Building Inspector who stated, I am seeing I am seeing a few things that are not compliant. On 10/5, I contacted *****, Regional Director, informing him of this.

In regards to my complaint against Ridge Top  Exteriors, I just wanted to keep you informed that I sent them an email requesting them to pull electric and roofing permits by October 12. If they do not, I will be paying for the permits myself and taking that amount off of the total that I owe the company.

I need the electrical piece of this complaint done sooner than later as the Greenville building inspector states it does not meet code and I do not have any outdoor lights for safety or taking my pets out.

I just wanted to update that I did send them the email last Friday without any response. They have stopped responding to any emails or texts from me, so Ill see if they respond to the BBB.

While permits have been filed, they have not been paid for in order for annex an inspection to take place this week. ********** building inspector can make an appointment on Friday for inspection while I am available to be at the home.

I still have an outdoor light that needs to be installed and all four of those lights should be inspected as I need the use of these for safety purposes.

I am waiting for the change order deleting gutters and downspouts from the contract as I am no longer willing to allow this company to provide further work on my home. This should be emailed to myself for signature and I will return electronically.

I have yet to be contacted regarding the roof that needs to be redone in the areas where there is holes in the brand new shingles and tar placed over the holes. This is unacceptable for a brand new roof. Also, I have yet to be contacted when the proper color vinyl trim is going to be placed on the garage.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed

Met with *****************, Project Manager, on 10/13. *** met with *W ********** Services same day. Per Dans report, Electrician will check all outdoor lights as well as install porch light and doorbell. It appears there is a problem with the * blocks for the small exterior lights where they are not very flush with the vinyl siding allowing for rain, snow, insects to enter potentially ruining the light fixture and causing unsafe electrical conditions. This area may require new siding to be placed so cut ins can be done correctly?? I have left a new LED doorbell to be installed. In the event this one will not work, please install the old doorbell.

Per our discussion, the corner trim by the back service door is to be moved up to alleviate some of the gap that is at the top of it.

Per our discussion, the corner piece of trim off of the window ledge near the front corner of the home needs to be fixed.

Per my email sent to *****, regional manager, and ***, project manager, the incorrect color has been installed for the wraps on the garage doors, service doors and front door. I am requesting that this material be removed and leave the existing wood trim as was on the house prior. This item will be removed from the contract as I will not be paying for this error. *** had mentioned that these laborers are not paid to come back to do corrections and, therefore, their lack of skill and willingness to succeed is highly questionable. There have been so many errors done on this project that I am no longer willing to have additional work done outside of what is mentioned here.

Per Dans report, he has ordered 14 shingles which will replace the ones that are currently punctured and filled with tar from the use of the pump jack ***************** 10/15, I sent a text to *** with a picture of one area that I would like replaced above the garage door where there is a small hole in the connecting trim pieces.

Once the electrical work has been completed, I am requesting the Greenville Building Inspector conduct an inspection to ensure all electrical meets code.

I am requesting notification of any and all workers who are at the home with the date and time that they are arriving; prior to them arriving so I can have the work area and supplies readily available for them.

Per discussion with *** on 10/13,  all work is to be completed by Friday, 10/21, weather permitting.

      Regards,

On 10/19/22, I met with *****, regional Director, to discuss balance due and getting out of the remainder of the contract. We agreed on a set price, which he states will be invoiced on 11/2/22 for The amount of $17,360.64. This does not include the replacement of facia, Gutters or Downspouts. I will be hiring out elsewhere for those services. According to *****, he will be requesting supplements from ************************* , which are unlikely to be approved due to their already very high contract price, per the field adjuster. Per verbal agreement and written in an email, I will not be required for any supplements above the agreed-upon price.

Per *****, shingles are going to be replaced on 11/1/22 as they currently have holes in them and have been filled with ******* should be noted this is a brand new roof that they installed.

I would like to see this claim stay open for a bit more in the event that I have issues with the roof completion and or invoiced amount.

I have paid Ridgetop Exteriors in full with the understanding that they are still going to fix a kickplate under the front door and siding off of the front window area, which are done very poorly. I have contacted them numerous times via email and text and they have not sent any workers to complete these two things.

We had siding done to the house, have multiple issues with the crew that came to do the job. For starters they tore up and broke one side of our retaining wall boarder that goes around the flower bed of the house. They used the brick to prop up their scaffolding stands witch we are now missing brick and when they were done just threw them back next to the flower beds. The flower beds they completely leveled out of about 20 to 25 plants only two are standing. They have not completed the job has of yet they left the job site for another we were told and now say they will be back this Friday to complete the job. This project was started on the 23rd with a original start date of the 21st . We are having electrical issues with the front light outside on the house as well as the motion light on the back of the garage. On the very back of the garage they destroyed a electrical outdoor cover is missing and is not sucured inside housing . We were told well you have to acquire the electrician to do the work fixing these issues and just have them billed but we are finding it hard for a electrician to do work that way and for under 500 witch is what they said we should only have to spend on it . There are some other minor issues see have but those are the major ones we are concerned about . As far as the brick around the house they just offered to get replacement brick but our concern is it will not match the rest of the brick we feel this cost of the boarder be on them and we should have a boarder that matches the rest . We paid 25 k for this siding only to feel it was rushed because they were already running two days behind. And to top it all off yesterday we had received in the mail from our city clerk that they never obtained the building permit to do work on our property and we were almost fined for it even tho in the contract it stays they were responsible for any and all permits needed for the job. Today they did take care of the building permit with the city clerk

I had purchased windows from Ridge top exteriors for approximately $10,000 for nine double pane, double hung windows. I have been dealing with this company since approximately January 2022. The first set of windows that came in all but one had damage and Ridgetop had to re-order many Sashes and one entire window. One window does not fit correctly and they refuse to rectify that. When the window manager and his coworker caulked on the inside of these very expensive windows they had done an absolutely horrible job which creates a problem for me to paint the inside of the window frames. I have tried many times to get them to resolve this and they refuse to comply.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/15/2022

Hello - Yes there were windows that arrived damaged from the manufacturer, which was simply out of our control. We re-ordered these windows as soon as possible at no additional cost to you or us, the manufacturer took full responsibility. In regards to the front kitchen window not fitting, your concerns come from a siding defect, not a window defect. Our contract was only for window replacement, however we offered assistance from our siding department in an attempt to resolve these issues because we want you to be completely satisfied with your home renovation project, to which you agreed was acceptable. Weve been out to your home multiple times with multiple crews to resolve these issues. As far as painting the windows, we recommend against doing so as it would void the warranty. If you would like us to further assist you, please contact us directly and we would be happy to help.

[Please type your response here.] I was told twice that someone from the siding department would call me but they did not follow through. I didnt say that I was going to paint the windows! Im talking about the window sill on the interior, which due to an unprofessional caulking job prevents me from painting them without me having to remove all the caulk and having them done properly. There are fingerprints halfway through the framing and globs of caulk in most of the corners. Also caulking was not cleaned off the window frames properly.
