Another no show for the installers, I have been stood up for the fifth time. They have had the wrong sized windows twice and 3 times did not show. Every time I am not notified until after their scheduled arrival time. Installation was promised in July, it is now January and still no windows installed.Universal Windows Direct of Milwaukee

My experience with Universal Windows Direct is cero starts. The worst company to work with. First, the sale representative, that just wants to sale, said, we can have this type of windows, windows arrived (LATE). The installers could not do their job because after they inspected the house structure, either the windows or the walls would be damaged and they cannot install the windows. I tried to reach out to the sales rep. no answer. I have been contacting the company, and customer service, looking for help, bad service too. Then X reached out, and a new appointment to measure windows for the new windows, a big delay in making the new windows. I have been losing workdays because of this. I have no problem with the installation crew; they have been doing their job. They have been good at answering my texts and questions. I suppose to receive a call from a manager, because with new windows, I think, a new contract needs to be done. This never happened. X and the installers said that is no extra cost because Universal Windows made a mistake, not me. The new windows arrived very late, even when they were supposed to have priority. Installation for the rest of the 14 windows was scheduled. Another manager contacted me after a lot of requests from Y and me to talk about these problems. He set up an appointment to come to my house to see what is happening because he had no knowledge of what were the changes and issues. He stated that he would fix this and that he want to make sure that everything is done right. That I can trust him. He said he will be sending an e-mail with new information; I still waiting for that e-mail. The installation crew arrived with 13 out of 14 windows. I will have to lose another workday for one window. No one knows when the window will be ready, or when they will finish the job. The windows, supposed to be installed by September 2022, are not done yet.Universal Windows Direct of Milwaukee

They asked again here, to contact customer service. I did on 12/23/202. Today is 01/03/2023 and there is NO response, no call, no text. Not even a courtesy/consideration call to let me know that they are working on this. As always, no response from them.Review fromJake Z.

Consultation - 5: Mike ***** is a good salesman. Easy to talk to, open to answering all our questions, and very informative about the product. He was also easy to get a hold of when needed. Price - 4: Universal didn’t have the lowest pricing, but they were very close. Their warranty is top notch, which easily swayed us over to use them instead of their competitors. Waiting period - 5: Wait time was stated to be 8-10 weeks, install happened just before 9. We were provided a couple update emails about the windows’ manufacturing, which was reassuring. Install - 5: The 2 gentleman arrived on time on the scheduled install day and were able to finish installing all 10 windows that same day. They were friendly, efficient, and informative on their work. Finish - ?: Due to the cold weather and the stubbornness of my old windows, all the J-channels broke. The installers explained new custom ones were to be ordered free of charge and installed next week. I don’t foresee any issues, but if there are I will update this section. Overall - 5: Getting 10 windows installed was a big ticket item for my family, and we are very happy with our decision to go with Universal Windows. Worst experience ever with a contractor! Had an existing bay window replaced and they have completely butchered the outside of my house! Had them come back 3 times to fix the damage and the installer is rude, and clueless as to how to fix this. What installer shows up at your house without the tools to bend metal? Treats us like we don't know what we are talking about and his English gets worse the more we try to point out the damage. Beware of this business! We have stated each time that we DO NOT want the same installer and each time they say they will not send him, but they lie and send the same butcher anyway. The outside of my house looked better before they installed the new window!!! So disappointed and just plain fed up trying to get this fixed. Should have paid the extra money to have this done by a business that actually knows what they are doing!Universal Windows Direct of Milwaukee

The best decision we made. Sales rep Matt was awesome and the installers were wonderful. Their perfection in work is the best we ever had. So pleased with workmanship friendliness. So pleasant to work with not enough words in vocabulary to say how incredible Definitely recommend. If you need windows use universal you won’t be sorry

I received a quote for two bedroom double hung windows. I told the salesman I would let him know my decision within a week because I wanted to review it with a contractor I trust. During that week I received at a minimum of 10 calls a day from UWD. Text messages as well. During that week i responded twice to a UWD employee and twice to their texts that they need to stop calling me and i will not be moving forward with their quoted work. They are still calling and each time they say its to get me a "rebate" although no one can ever provide what the rebate is. I asked them again today to stop with the calls but judging by the rude unprofessional person i talked to i doubt they will stop. I am filing a complaint with Wisconsin BBB today over this. I do not recommend UWD.

We recently remodeled my husbands childhood home and we had universal windows do all the windows and WOW do they look amazing the whole process from sales to install was flawless! We didn’t have to wait 6months like some companies and when they were ready they were here within a 7-10 days for install. The install guys were on time and so polite told me what they were doing in steps cleaned up everything before leaving. I would most definitely recommend universal windows for your project

I firstly want to say that our contractors, James and Colt, were amazing. They were early to the job, professional, and very knowledgeable. They are the only ones I would trust with our home. I say this because the rest of our correspondence with the company was frustrating to say the least. The representative who came to our home to share about the company/windows and provide an estimate appeared to be very knowledgeable until we were told after we decided to go with this company that no, the contractors don’t install on weekends (one of the points that sold us as we both work M-F) and that the biggest window we’d ordered which was for our living room didn’t come on two tracks. We found this out the day of installation when the contractor told us he’s not sure why we were told this as they don’t make that certain window that way (the second part that originally sold us on the company being that window). Our windows were measured by the representative who shared the window shpeal, but another appointment had to be scheduled for more accurate measurements which makes sense. This representative was late and ultimately missed the appointment so this had to be rescheduled which meant my boyfriend and I needed to rearrange our work schedules again. Then on installation day, we were informed that the 7 windows we’d ordered for the basement were almost 3 inches off and that the obscured glass we’d ordered for the bathroom did not come obscured and that this all needed to be re-ordered which would potentially take another couple weeks. Again, the contractors (James and Colt) were amazing but the rest of it has left us a bit frustrated as this was hard-earned money spent on not the cheapest windows. We were misinformed twice at the start, had to juggle works schedules multiple times because of appointments being missed, the order was wrong… I give 5 stars for James and Colt and 2 stars for the company just because they have James and Colt or else it would be 1 star.

I scheduled an appointment for an ESTIMATE to learn about their product, options, and pricing. Aside from me being really annoyed that it was a 2 hour appointment (nobody mentioned this), it really was good information. I learned a lot and was very impressed by their product. I said let's do this, and was ready to move forward. I told him I just needed to speak with a family member, and then go to the bank for money since I wanted to take advantage of the discount if you paid in cash; (appointment was at night which is why I needed until the next day). At that moment, his personality switched. He turned extremely pushy, asking questions such as "Well don't you have a credit card?" "If you give me your license, it only takes a second to get you approved for our financing. Are you worried about your credit or something?" He was also making me feel guilty that he'd have to come "all the way back" the next day to do the paperwork and accept the payment which was going to be "a waste of both of our times since he was there now." At that point I literally said, "Well now I'm kind of backing off because you're becoming very pushy," and he proceeded to still question me. I'm still in shock - I've never had a salesperson react like he did, and felt like he was shaming me. It's really too bad because I feel like their windows are the best of the best, but I will not move forward with the company because of the experience.Universal Windows Direct of Milwaukee
