    The company does not honor their own warranty. I attempted to have the cloth replaced because of tearing and it was still within the 10 year warranty period, but they refused to honor their warranty policy. They claimed that the tearing was due to the design of the product, which makes no sense, because there is no clause in the warranty statement that references design flaws as an exception to the warranty.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!

    SunSetter is a bad company and does not stand by their policy of sending a $100 referral to a customer who recommended me to them. A $4,800 order and they can't even send a measly $100 referral fee. DO NOT BUY anything from them. I purchased the awning in March of 2022 and have been chasing them down with no results. Horrible company. I will make it a mission to let everyone know on the Internet how bad of a company they are. I wouldn't even give them one star but you have to choose something....they're not worth a star!

We understand your frustration with the delay in receiving the $100 check and did offer to the referring customer an Accessories Package worth over $300 in addition to the referral check.     We have confirmed that a $100 referral check was issued to referring customer on 10/15/2022. However, the check was returned as non-deliverable. The referring customer updated new address with ********************** on 11/25/2022 and a new check has been mailed. Customer will receive check by ***** on Tuesday 1/10/2022.

    Follow-up. On 1/10/23, the referring party did receive a check for $100. I appreciate that they finally came through in providing what they had promised...even though it was 10 months late. The referring party called during the summer of 2022 to update her address with Sun Setter. The claim that they sent it to an old address was their fault. I do like the product that I have, I never said I didn't. However, customer service these days just isn't what it was many years ago. This should be a strong reminder to the leadership of Sun Setter - Even though you may have a very good product, bad customer service will make future and returning customers not want to buy from you again. I thank those who stepped in to resolve this issue.

    First Off, we are happy with our Motorized Awning. Not with Sunsetter themselves. We purchased our Motorized Sunsetter Awning with Wind Detector on July 11, 2022 through MooreShades4Less. Sunsetter had a $1345.00 promotion consisting of a Wireless Wind Sensor, Windbreaker Panels, Awning Cover, Cleaning Kit, and a Gas Grill if you purchase by July 11, 2022. We did not get the promotion after we were told we would as well as a refund for the Wireless Wind Sensor we paid for!!! I still have a copy of the Promotion flyer.After a couple of months going through MooreShades4Less, stating they are not hearing back from their inquiries to Sunsetter, all communications suddenly stop.Would have been nice to have gotten that Promotion and refunded for the Wireless Wind Sensor.Be careful when stated you'll get a promotion. Get it in writing!!

    I ordered a Sunsetter Awning from their web site over the weekend of July 4th of this year (2022) to take advantage of a multi month payment plan. Within three days, in a conversation with customer service it was made clear to me that if you order from the web site then it is up to you to arrange for installation or to do it yourself. When I contacted the local dealer he indicated that he does not install products ordered directly from the web site and to cancel that order and order through him. I did that the same day after he met me at my house and we talked through the project. I immediately contacted Sunsetter direct and cancelled the order and was told I would be refunded the full amount since the order was still in process and had not been shipped yet. Two days later, I found out that they did ship it and that I was now responsible for shipping costs and taxes and that they wouldn't be refunding that amount. The two credits of $100+ and $333 took close to 2 months to get refunded and now I am disputing the remaining $239 restock with the credit card company.It should be noted that my issues were with Sunsetter corporate not the local dealer. They installed a nice product that was perfectly installed. Everything you would expect for a 4k investment. Be cautious dealing with the corporate office, they made refund promises they did not keep and they were very slow to respond to multiple emails. When you call them they outsource their CS so you never talk to the same person. Overall very frustrating.

    We bought our awning and shades through Discount Contractors in *******. DO NOT do buisness with this company. We ordered our products in May, the awning shows up in late June. They install it and when fully extended, it is less than 5 ft off the ground! We were told by the installer that he could not do anything about it. That the facia board on our house was in the way. Then they took it down and we were told that they don't make the correct brackets to raise the awning up. I told them to take it and give me a refund. Low and behold, two weeks later, the brackets show up and we finally have our awning. Our shades come in 2 months after ordering and they are installed. One week later, one of them stops working. I was told that it would cost me $150 for a service call if the problem is with the solar panel, motor or remote. That is when I called the corporate office. They are sending me a new solar panel to start. I will fix this issue myself. But DISCOUNT CONTRACTORS in ******* will never again get our business, and consequently neither will Sunsetter.
