I moved into this apartment complex in August of 2021, thinking I had found my new temporary home with a feasible commute friendly route to work. However, down the line I came across a pest issue as I found ONE bed bug crawling on my bedroom wall maybe in the summer months of 2022. Contacted management, trusting them to take care of the situation. After reaching out to management they did a bed bug inspection in my unit as well as neighboring units to detect where this pest issue resulted from, and come to find out they framed me as the one having bed bugs, after I trusted them to find the source of the problem. This resulted in them charging me $700.00 to have my unit exterminated, mind you I only detected the ONE bug on my wall. Long story short with this, I went and forth emailing them as to why I am not the source with the bed bug infestation, and arguing that neighboring units are the primary cause of this issue. I ended up hiring my own legit company to do a bed bug inspection of my unit with a dog, and the report indicated that I am not the unit with the infestation as the dog did not signal anything. Not to mention, in my emails, I sent them photos of my bedding, as the signs of bed bugs are clear as day in your sheets, mattress, etc. I ended up not having to pay the cost for extermination because they weren't successful in their claim. By law I believe Landlords must disclose to tenants about infestation. Instead they give out letters to everyone stating that they have to inspect and treat the premises for the use of "repairs" or showing our apartments to "prospective lenders" which to me is code for "We are having an infestation issue". They are just trying to cover their butts whilst charging people for unnecessary things. The last and final point, is that they towed my car in the garage that is registered with a permit, I had to pay $250 to get it out of the lot, in addition to missing an hour of work that day. This place is money hungry and it shows.
