  On July 18, I picked up my new 2180 Type 1 VW engine and high performance Type 1 VW transmission. Both engine and trans look great, and on closer inspection you can see the additional time and effort by the Mofoco team to ensure high quality workmanship, which is what I always experienced in the past. ?? The build time was exactly as stated on the website and they were delivered on the date we scheduled. More importantly, when I arrived for the pickup, they had the engine on the tuning stand so I could see and hear it run. I have some background with this company as many years ago I owned a small fabrication / automotive shop and I purchased their engines. I never had any issues with Mofoco quality or service and I worked with Paul throughout this build and found him to be knowledgeable and professional, addressing all of my needs. I recommend the company and the products they provide. If you have any concerns before you buy, I recommend you communicate with them about any needs or concerns so that you can be confident about what you are purchasing and when it will be done. ??

  Paid for VW heads in March of 2023. Contacted multiple times for delivery. Finally was told that the heads were going to be shipped early 2024. No product delivered. No refund given. Waiting for refund.

  I paid for a complete engine in May, 2022. Initially, they'd stated it would take roughly 20 weeks to build. I've received nothing but excuses as to why it hasn't been shipped yet - 2 years and 4 months later... They knew when they took my money, that they didn't have and weren't able to get bearings, engine cases, and other vital components to build an engine - yet they told well over 100 people they could have an engine built in 16-20 weeks. At this point, they should give me a refund of the full amount I paid; as they haven't upheld their promises, and I wouldn't trust that they'll deliver a quality product, even if they were to assemble an "engine" for me.

  In January of 2023 I set up a full engine rebuild for my 1968 auto stick volkswagen convertible. I just received the engine 1 yr and 9 1/2 months later. I spent many hours calling to ask how the engine build was coming, many excuses came my way. I was always amazed and had to continue to look back at my original order to make sure I was correct. In Feb of of 2024 I was asked to pay the remaining balance and the engine would be done in 3 weeks. As you can see that took another 8 months. When the engine arrived finally I found a series of tins missing on what I was told would be a complete turn key engine. These parts yet again delayed my customers finished engine as I had to order these parts from a more reliable source. I am still currently waiting reimbursement of these parts for $140.00. Also I had to correct them on my intake due to being an auto stick they did not even have the correct part. New engine also came with oil marks and grease from sloppy workmanship. My father, a volkswagen mechanic for over 60 yrs, if still alive would have not have been pleased with a company who sells such poor quality work. I have much regret with dealing with Mofoco an after looking at their advertisements of quality and satisfaction I was definitely was fooled into thinking otherwise. I will never and would steer anyone away from dealing with this company and support their products in the future.

  Pre purchased an engine from them over 3 months ago. Was told that it would be shipped out in 3 weeks. After several attempts to call to see where the status was on the engine I was treated poorly over the phone. They lied to me and stated that they would never tell a customer that it was never 3 weeks out and that it was more like a month. Then they proceeded to tell me 2 and a half months ago that it would be ready in 3 weeks. That was 2 and a half months ago. Called them today. They cut me off and then placed me on hold. When they came back on the line they told me that they would call me back.. I would never recommend this company to anyone! They have poor business ethics and terrible customer service.

  Gave them money money for a transmission on 10-26-22. Told me a minimum of 12 weeks to build transmission. Called and talked to the owner to see if I could get a refund. He said now refunds and talked over the top of me. Still waiting to hear from them about my transmission.
