I had entered an order for Build Your Own Engine Kit with Mofoco totaling $1700.71. The last components of the kit are the cylinder heads which have run very late. I have called multiple times in September, October, and November as documented on the attached email, and spoken with **** and ****. We had agreed to a refund and it was indicated it would take 2-4 days or a week to transact. I provided the credit card information to enable the transaction following ****** comment that the credit card information was no longer on file. After checking my credit card today, there has been no refund of $510+tax for the heads, nor have I received the cylinder heads purchased. I paid in full ($5918.00) for a complete ********** engine from Mofoco on May 25, 2022. They had said, at the time, that it would take them approximately 20 weeks to build. I have evidence that they knew that the estimated build time was impossible, as they didn't have vital engine components, nor the means to acquire them. Each time I've contacted them for a status update, I've been met with further excuses and delays. I'm generally reasonable, and would have been understanding of a brief delay in build time. However - it has been nearly two and a half years, and I have no faith that Mofoco would, at this time, deliver a quality product. I will be filing suit with the County Court, to obtain a full refund; I will not accept delivery of anything resembling an engine from them, should they try to deliver something in attempt to avert a lawsuit.Business Response

Over the last 18 months, we have dealt with extensive delays and closures from our suppliers, however, we have still built over 100 engines in that timeframe. We are extremely sorry that some customers orders have gotten this old but we will be completing all of them.
This order is set to be built in December with delivery before the end of 2024.

This is a pattern of knowingly false promises made by *** ******* and Mofoco. First, the engine was estimated for delivery 20 weeks from May of 2022. *** made this estimation knowing it was not possible. Then, continued with a multitude of delays, excuses, and false promises. Most recently, he promised it would be delivered in September, 2024 (see attachment). It's now November, and he's saying it will be delivered in December. I have no faith in this company, due to their repeated lies, delays, and excuses; and feel a full refund is warranted.

We have a handful of engines that are very old on our list due to the lack of availability of our cylinder heads. We will be pouring a new batch in the next two weeks and then be cleariing our list of all past due engine builds.

This is merely the latest excuse, which is to try to cover for the initial lie that Mofoco would be able to produce an engine in about 20 weeks from May of 2022. Since then, it's been delay after delay, and a string of excuses. *** knew when he took my money, he couldn't produce an engine in about 20 weeks.Granted, there is a disclaimer on the purchase agreement. (paraphrased) There occasionally are slight delays in production. In no industry is 2+ years considered a "slight delay", nor should a customer accept such delays, excuses, and not delivering in a reasonable time.
I, as would any reasonable person, would have been understanding of a slight delay in production. But 2 1/2+ years of excuses to cover up the initial lies is unacceptable. Give me a full refund.
This company is untrustworthy, and I would have zero confidence in anything produced by Mofoco. It will, most likely, be something cobbled together to resemble an engine in attempt to simply deliver something, anything. Especially considering that the cylinder heads are one of the first batches coming from a new foundry. First production runs, in general, are **** with issues.
Give me a full refund.

I placed an order for a performance long block motor on May 31st 2022. I did not receive any updates on the status of my motor until September 2023. I was told sometime in late October. I have since requested a refund on March 26th, I did not get a reply back until April 15th. On November 17, 2023 I ordered parts from this company. All normal standard parts, nothing special. the salesperson indicated that the parts would arrive a few weeks after i order them. after a few weeks i contacted them and asked about the parts. they were rude. some time later, now 9 weeks later, i called and asked about the parts. they said they were delayed. i complained about the delay, (I am a repair shop and my client getting impatient too). they said they were offended by me and said that they told me to never call them again. So i disputed the charges with my bank. they took the money back from them. I ordered the parts from someone else. After the parts from someone else arrive, then i get a box from Mofoco with PART of the order/not even the full order. they had filed a dispute against my dispute and sent me some of my order and gave the bank the tracking number as proof of delivery. I haven't done anything with their box and they need to take it back. these people are scammers. They will take your money and sell your parts to someone else and then after you file a dispute with the bank, they will send you a partial order and pocket the rest of the money. Scammers!!! The remaining two parts are in national back order and will be shipped when they arrive or we can credit those two parts. The customer sent the box back and without return authorization. Our head castings are poured at a foundry. We do the final machine work and assembly here. The new foundry is supposed to have castings to us soon. Otherwise we can substitute other castings if the customer wants.

Feb. 11, 2022 I ordered a complete motor from MOFOCO order # ***** for the sum of $6301.00. I was told it would be approximately 6 months to complete. That was almost two years ago. I have hinted at a refund over that time period but never got a response. I have been given multiple dates on when it was supposed to be done. I've noticed that all of these complaints are basically the same. And when they do reply its always about them. How long can a company string someone along after taking their money? I fined it hard to believe that this company has a A+ rating after reading these and talking to a couple of the other customers. One of those has told me that his motor was ordered before mine. I can't confirm that, just what I was told. I'm having a hard time grasping how someone can take your money and then take years to complete your order. Then when you ask where your item is all you get is a song and a dance. It's like your being held hostage. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to type this but here we are, it's like a bad dream. I do have all of the correspondent e-mails printed off that is available upon request. At one point I thought I still wanted this motor but I don't see this getting any better. Two years into this I have no clue when and If I will ever see this motor. If you would have told me that this was going to happen when I ordered this motor I would have called you a liar. I ordered an long block ***** 2023 with the understanding there was a **** week waiting period due to shortages etc. They have delayed my order multiple times without notice, and do not respond to email. After multiple calls they promised a delivery date on the 18th of September (2023 to my knowledge) They have not responded to my email, and my order is still "next in line". I have called numerous times left voice-mail, and multiple emails. *** supposedly spoken to the owner twice and received promises on delivery dates. All of which have been passed by. I filed a complaint in September about MOFOCO enterprises #********, I was just wanting to update you on the situation. They have not contacted me, but I did reach out to them about when my order would be completed. Apparently, there has been another delay they have not begun working on my order yet. We are approaching 24 months since when I requested the order and submitted payment. Mofoco has made no attempt to contact me about my submitted complaints. At this point I dont know what to do, I have also submitted a complaint with the ********* consumer protection board. Im hoping to refresh the case in the hope it brings it to the top of MOFOCO concerns?Business Response

I apologize for the unreasonable delays we have had in finishing your order. We have had unforeseen delays from our suppliers and also a massive labor shortage in our engine building department. I sincerely apologize for the lack of communication as I hired an individual to be my communicate with my customers and he only lasted 3 months.
Your order is still set to be done before Christmas. If we cannot complete your order by the end of the calendar year, we will insure a full refund.

On Aug. 4, ************************** full for an engine from Mofoco Enterprises ***** ********************** owner. ****************** projected the completion date at 24 weeks. Over twelve months later, I have received no product. My attempts to contact this company since February 2023 have only resulted in delays , extensions and broken deadlines. I have now demanded my money back. ****************** has directed all of my correspondence to go to him , but my certified mail to him about my pending action dated July 24, 2023 has been undeliverable by the post office.I paid $6,523.00 in full August 7, 2022 for a product I have not received, with no satisfactory communication from this company. We are very far behind but are 100% committed to fulling this order. My Wolf is currently #8 on my production board. Our company policy is that once an engine is ordered, there are no cancellations.

Mofoco has never reached out to me , I have been the one who has reached out to them. Delay after delay, order is in production , shipped by the first of summer " guaranteed " etc. excuse after excuse. Parts came in last spring. The way they think is they have my money so they can do as they please. take all the time in the world if they want to. Pathetic how they do business. I made what is called an ID 10 T error by not looking at the Mofoco reviews. "IDIOT" I do not trust this company or anything they say , I believe I will receive a engine with a built in defect for pursuing this.

While I sympathize with ************* and the delays, we have been in business longer than any air cooled VW engine manufacturing company in *****************, 55 years and counting. We manufacture more parts for the air cooled VW engine under ******** than any other company in the world. Covid and the resulting change in our industry has put as many as 60% of the businesses similar to ours, out of business. Supplies that used to take days to arrive, now take weeks to months.
