I was towed from an Arbys location while eating at a restaurant next door. Signage that states patrolled by ***** is placed in very sneaky locations and not marked on the island right as you pull into the lot, it is placed on pole pretty high up. After calling the police to report my car stolen, I was informed it was towed to a location in ********* after finally locating the sign and calling the number to make a appointment to get my car back which was $340.00. Checked online to find the address to pick my car up at and noticed that Abyss lost their license to tow in the *****************. I have confirmed this with multiple people at city hall in ********* I would like my $340.00 returned to me for Abyss operating without a valid business license

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the complaint
Regardless of what I was doing abyss, towing does not have a valid business license to operate in the *****************. I picked up my car in the ***************** with payment being made in the ***************** also in regards to your comment about having a business license to tow in the ****************** that is false, because the ****************** does not require a business license for a non-consensual tow as far as the placement of your signs I believe they are put in very sneaky spots, so nobody will notice them. Why is there not a sign on the island as you pull onto the lot of Arbys Informing everyone that this lot is only for Arbys customers,

    Regards,

    ***************************

On the night of October 22, 2022, my 2018 ****** Corolla was towed from a private lot by Abyss Towing. This business operates from a trailer, in a gated parking lot behind an abandoned building. The address of this building is ************************************************************************* and the lot their trailer is parked in is directly West of it. The employee I encountered was ********** was charged $150 for the towing, $25 for a storage fee, and $150 for special equipment. The towing fee was reasonable; however, the storage fee and special equipment charge were not. Abyss was closed on Sunday and the soonest I could pick up my vehicle was Monday morning, which is when I did. Abyss only allows vehicle pick up by appointment. I was charged a storage fee for a day the business was not operating. The special equipment charge was due to Abyss not having my car keys to tow my vehicle and the use of dollies to prevent damage to my vehicle. These charges were unreasonable. Abyss claimed that these charges were lawful under the ********* Towing Association regulations and ********* Towing laws. Upon further research, these claims were not true nor reasonable. When it came to charging my debit card, **** phoned a ********* and read out my debit card information to her over the phone, which was unprofessional and prompted me to replace my debit card immediately. Additionally, I should not have to argue with a towing company that car keys are not necessary to tow a vehicle, nor should damage to my car be an issue I should have to worry about when towed. What I hope to accomplish by writing this, is a proper review or investigation of Abyss Towing from your trusted association. I have attached a picture of the trailer Abyss is operating out of and a scan of the receipt with the list of unlawful charges.
