When I began working with Sirah in 2021 we discussed her budget. Typically one of our vintage motorcycle builds are around $10,000. Her budget was $6500 so we worked within that budget as best we could, exceeding the work expected from the budget we had. Included in the file are many pictures of the work that went into the bike as well as a video of the bike running before it left our shop. Before the bike was loaded onto the trailer for shipment, it was started by several different people and test ridden by myself and a friend that helps from time to time.
The motorcycle **************** purchased from us is a **** Kawasaki KZ400. A bike of this age requires knowledge of motorcycles and the ability to do consistent maintenance. I learned from her that when she received the bike she didn't ride it right away because she did not know how. She immediately had issues when she did try to start it. She did not know to check it for gas because they are shipped without it. She did not know how to operate the kill switch so she accused me of it being faulty. I worked with her for two weeks to help her get the bike started. Eventually she decided to take it to Cycles Plus where they came up with their laundry list of things wrong with her 45 year old bike. The bike travelled from **********, ** to *****, ** which is **** miles and 19 hours with no stops from the shipper. Any motorcycle is subject to items coming loose from vibration when traveling and this distance would cause most of the items **************** had listed from Cycles Plus in *****.
The reason that the bike took the time it did to get it delivered to her is because we are a small business with only myself able to do the work. We have 10 builds to do at a time with 10 in queue and service calls coming in every day. The amount of time that went into ******************** motorcycle was no less than any other build that gets our attention. A typical build has an **** month wait before the start of the project and another 3-5 months to build.
The reason communication stopped on our part is because **************** decided to take it out of our hands and bring it in for service, write a poor ****** review and contact the BBB. At this point we have also moved out communication over to the BBB.
We do not offer refunds. **************** has the motorcycle in her possession and could decide to sell it if she wishes if she does not feel she can maintain a vintage vehicle. We do owe her a title. The original owner has been contacted several times with no response. We will take responsibility of ordering a replacement one.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Im very glad to see *** responded. He has ignored me at least 3 times on my question regarding the title.

I have the bike with a shop currently awaiting my estimate for the repair.

The bottom line is that I paid **** for one bike (includes the shipment) & **** for another. What I got was a bike that is not safe to ride. Regardless of what *** thinks, the bike is not safe to drive. And to ship a motorcycle w a broken kill switch & oil leaking is just not ok Not to mention the title situation which is absurd. He never once mentioned he did not have the title in hand.

Will follow up once I have my repair bill. Which Im just going to assume *** expects me to pay for.

As far as no refunds ******* bike was **** and I was never, ever told no refunds. That is not a large amount & should have been refunded immediately.

*** has an excuse for everything. I understand these are vintage bikes that he repairs, but I dont think its too much to ask that the bike arrives in a timely fashion, with effective/standard customer communication & that it doesnt have to go right to a shop immediately upon me receiving it.

dodging questions and being vague & not following through with the things he said he would is not good business.

I understand I should probably not have bought a bike from out of state But I never expected all of this trouble.

    Regards,

I repeat, the bike was not in SAFE DRIVING CONDITION upon arrival. I will get an itemized receipt for the repairs needed to make the bike safe to drive around. Also, you had over a year to get the title for this bike so let's be truthful about all this. Also, still waiting for the rest of my *** refund, which you said you would grant **************************************************************

    Sirah,

This is ****, co-owner of **** Please send me the *** for your bike. *** has been trying to get the title from the original owner for the same amount of time you have been waiting for it. There is no reason for her not sending it or communicating to us about it, nevertheless she has not. I will be ordering you a replacement title. As for the condition of your bike, it was safe, rideable and test ridden several times before it left our shop. There were absolutely no oil leaks and ran wonderfully. The extra bolt found could have vibrated off, there is no way for us to control that outcome. It is our suggestion that when you get the title, you may want to consider selling the bike and getting a newer model motorcycle. As a new rider myself, there have been many nuances to get used to riding a vintage bike. The bike traveled **** miles to get to you and bolts will loosed from riding it, never mind being on a trailer for that long. I am sure like me, you learned to do an inspection of your bike before each ride.As soon as I receive the *** I will get that replacement sent to you.

whoever had this motor beat on it. The cams are a little beat up.. rockers all beat up... adjusters... the battery wasn't even properly mounted. It was just sitting there. A lot of metal shavings inside. These are the initial pictures and feedback I've gotten so far. I don't have a total bill yet, but I will get it and post it.
What you guys should have said is, "No - we don't ship out of state". Clearly, you guys aren't very good at that.  I think we all know i could have just bought a ********** and saved myself a lot of money, time and frustration.
    VIN - see attached picture.
Honestly, the bike was not safe to ride - I don't think any of you would want a loved one on this bike - in the condition it was in when i received it.

    Regards,
