********* auto loan with us was charged off and has been referred to collections. There is a balance due for insurance on the auto loan that ******* is required to pay. I am writing to formally dispute an inaccurate item on my credit report related to a ******************************* (***) charge through ****************, which was reported by Altra Federal Credit Union. I request that you investigate this matter under the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which mandates that all information provided to credit reporting agencies be accurate and complete.
The disputed charge involves an account that was placed on my credit report by Altra Federal Credit Union for *** coverage through ****************. However, I would like to clarify the following points regarding the dispute:
No Proof of ***************** **************** does not have an account with my name on it, in their system . Furthermore, they were unable to provide any proof that the vehicle insurance lapsed. As such, the charge for *** is invalid and should not remain on my credit report.
Failure to Provide Full Refund: I have not received a full refund for the *** charges, despite multiple requests and my full insurance and GAP coverage being in place to cover the full value of the vehicle.
Request for Removal: Given that Allied Solutions was unable to provide adequate proof of lapsed coverage and failed to issue the appropriate refund, I demand that the charges related to this *** be completely removed from my credit report. Additionally, I request that Altra Federal Credit Union remove the charge-off related to this account from my ********************** report.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), I am entitled to a credit report that accurately reflects my financial history. As the disputed charge is not backed by sufficient evidence and the account was deleted by the insurance provider, I believe this item should be removed from my credit file.

I had attempted to close my Altra Savings account in 2023 but was advised I was required to keep it open as I had a credit card open with the company. Due to my own negligence, I recently missed a payment for the credit card as I forgot about the account. I did log in to make a payment in February, there was a ****** charge added to my savings account. I was advised via messaging that when I made the credit card payment, the fee would be reversed. I paid ****** on 2/18 to the credit card account. I was concerned that Altra considered my late credit card payment a loan default, and asked them to supply information where I agreed to have late credit card payments be charged to a savings account (causing it to be negative and have a late payment fee for some reason). After requesting this information, I have no longer been able to login to make payments on my credit card. When selecting to navigate to make a card payment from the app, the app just spins and does not take me to the payment section. I also have noticed my credit report shows that I missed the payment in February when I have proof of the ****** payment.Business Response

I went to use my credit card that I had been paying in faithfully I noticed it went from a payment of $20 to $25 and didnt question just payed and then I went to use my card and it declined so I called the bank and they said it expired and they cut it off sent a letter in October . I had been paying they hit my credit then I cant use the card and was paying and was totally blind sided and now they are trying to hit me for $50 a month and I never wanted my card off anyways that just really scamming to do that. I needed the card ,they turned it off because they scammed me and I was paying on time then hit my credit and dont feel any type way and that wasnt the agreement we agreed on when I got the card. Because my credit score dropped they turned my card off Ive never ever in my life had that happen and Im paying the bill then you never send out another ******** they are asking for $50 but if my card was on they would have been payed and asking for interest payments aswellBusiness Response

We understand the concern and would like to provide some clarity.
All of our credit cards undergo an annual review process conducted by our credit card processing company. During the 2024 review, the account was found to be delinquent for the previous two months. As a result, this triggered the closure of the account. If she would like to reopen the card, she can reapply, and we will pull a new credit report. However, please note that the account is currently 51 days past due. We would need the account to be brought current before we can consider reopening it.Initial Complaint

Was charged a false insurance fee. I had full coverage insurance when I bought my ***** GX 2017. Ive spent 12 hours dealing with Altra explaining that Texas gives you a minimum of 20 days to add your new car to insurance. They are violating Texas state laws and charging fees that are not allowed under Texas law. I carry 300/100/100 when I bought my ***** GX in July, 10 times the amount required by Texas law. The *************************** stated I didnt carry enough insurance and charged me 641 dollars to my account after being told multiple times by loan processing that they would be waving it. This is beyond ridiculous that a company wants to do this to a customer whos bought 3 cars from them in the past 4 months. Its also ridiculous that *** made every attempt to have this rectified and have been told nothing but lies from the 3rd party insurance company, including being hung up on 10 times.Business Response

They marked me for several missed payments, hurting my credit, when all payments were made on time. I called them, called the credit companies, made a dispute, and nothing has happened. Included are the screenshots with the dispute. Shows the months with missed payments in the first one. The second one, I included where it shows I paid, and the balance going down. I had the account on auto withdrawal, but all of a sudden, it wouldnt withdrawal, and I had to call to make payments after may. The online payment wasnt working. So it shows I paid 0 that month. They are a very difficult bank to work with. It took me around 6 phone calls to them just to pay off my most recent loan, because they couldnt take an online payment to pay off a loan for some reason. Altra is unable to adjust *******'s credit report based on the delinquency of his auto loan. We advised that insurance was required on the vehicle and when ******* cancelled it,Collateral ******************** (CPI) was added. This resulted in a higher monthly payment that his auto payments were not covering.

I made the payments stated in the contract. I had a 2 month lapse of insurance when the vehicle was not drivable, and I paid the cpi in full once I actually talked to someone from altra. No one reached out to me in regards of this. Altra had the worst communication of all the banks Ive dealt with, and *** dealt with a few. The agreed monthly payment was made every month. If it wasnt, how does it make sense to only have 30 day late payments for 5 months in a row if I wasnt paying the payments instead of 150 days? I had auto withdrawal set up for this account, and you guys made it inactive rather than calling me. Ive never missed a payment with anyone, but because you guys **** so much, it shows that I have these missed payments. Be decent and fix this. I will continue to just leave bad reviews everywhere for you guys. the payments were made, report that they were made. Pretty simple.
when the *** was added, I had no idea what that was. No communication. Getting the right person to talk to when calling is very hard as well. It took me 6 phone calls just to connect to a right person to pay off my loan because everyone said they couldnt do it. Just admit you guys are incompetent or fix this error.

There is no evidence of fraud on her account. We do have the documents she signed for the loan in our files, so we don't believe there is any identity theft either. On 4/20/24 I deposited a check as an Altra Credit Union member at the kiosk at the ********** branch from another Altra customer. The money was immediately available. On Monday 4/22/24 the check now said $2000 hold. The person I received the check from for a camper was being odd so I stopped in bank. The bank told me they could not stop the check and if it cleared on Tuesday night 4/23/24 that it was not reversable. On Wednesday the checked cleared. I then paid several bills. On Saturday 4/26/24 Altra reversed the check and took money from a different personal account of mine with no contact. **** has given me a different response each manager I talked to and is friends with the person who blocked check. They went into an account without permission and gave me wrong information each time I asked to try to protect myself.Business Response

I lost my Job and got with my Bank Altra and asked that they consolidate my credit card and loan and if they could make a smaller payment so that I could still afford it until I found a job and did not want to go negative. After being a customer several years, paid off 2 car notes with them, purchased my home with them never late on any payments up until I lost my job. And they tell me Im over extended so they could not help me, I was not asking for more loans just restructure and combining of what I currently had with them to not default. So I was not able to make the large payments and now they have put a hold on my Daughters account and trying to take money from her for my debit. I guess they dont realize she is 19 and the account is no longer a custodial account. And what they are doing is illegal. That is my daughters money deposited from her work checks as shown by her deposits, Altra should be ashamed of themselves taking Money from a 19 YO that she needs for her collage and car payment. ******************************* has two accounts with us that are in default that we have been trying to reach him about. Over the past (5) months, we have made dozens of attempts to communicate with himmost recently was yesterday, 4/9/24. He has not responded to our communications. When a members account becomes delinquent, it is standard practice to pledge funds on an individual or joint account in an effort to cure a delinquency.We are unable to lift the restrictions on the two accounts until they are current or a satisfactory payment arrangement has been made. My car crashed and i was not able to fix it. I came to visit my relatives from ** to OH. After i got to OH my car crashed. I was stuck in OH for 1 1/2 year. After 3-4 months I called the bank and told them to get the car. The proceeds from the sale were applied to his loan with Altra on 3/14/24 and his balance now reflects this. His Transunion report reflects this correct balance, but if it not reporting correctly through Experian, he would need to dispute that with Experian. I was facing an eviction back in July 2023. I had asked Altra to please send the payment through my checking account and I would pay the negative balance,, as pay day was coming up and I was told that wasnt an option, due to my credit score. Well,, miraculously enough,, that didnt matter on their terms I guess. They let my bank account get to negative $750. Then closed my account. Added the negative balance to my savings account. Now, with the holidays I have zero access to money, as my checks go into the savings account with a negative balance that ALTRA caused. How can they pick and choose what they are going to allow on accounts?Business Response

Hi ******,
We understand the frustration caused by having your checking account closed. Because of the negative balance left in your checking account for 45 days, we did have to close the checking. We did send 3 letters prior to doing so, so please let us know if you did not receive those. You do still have a Savings account and an auto loan with us, and your membership is not closed. Please know your direct deposit will be deposited into your Savings as normal. If you are able to pay back the $449.90 loss, we would be willing to refund the overdraft fees and reopen a checking account for you.
