I bumped into the rear of a small car coming out of a parking lot.; the damage looked to be minimal (I took photos.) The unlicensed "victim" hired a lawyer (probably specializing in bogus claims) and got almost $7000 totaled for her car and as yet unknown to me a potentially large medical injury claim. Acuity then raised my rate $700 a year and I cancelled and switched to another company (less than my previous Acuity rate.)

Our car was hit and we were at 0% fault. Our car was totaled, and the current market value of our vehicle is around $9000. They offered us $4500. We have not asked for a rental car or any accommodations to make this easier (and we are both under 25) and make it easier on them to give us $ for a new vehicle. The *** said she would call my husband back today (Friday) and she never did. When my husband called we were told she would contact us Monday or Tuesday. We are so upset and frustrated and we believe they assumed they could short us since we are young. This left a very bad taste in our mouth.

This is a scam company. Seriously DO NOT do business with them. What they do is fake audits, they require you to submit pay reports. This was about 3 months after I cancelled my policy which I had for about 9 months.Even though my guys all made less than my insurance agent had put down, which theoretically should lower my rate and therefore I'd be due a refund if anything, they decided to charge me approximately 3 months of worth of rates on all of my employees additional after I had cancelled my policy. I should add that I never even had a claim, not one.If I don't pay, my credit gets wrecked, so they basically have you over a barrel.Seriously, do NOT do business with Acuity!

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Acuity Insurance, and I can honestly say this company is nothing short of a nightmare. They are absolutely crooks, and their business practices are beyond frustrating and unethical. First off, they only reach out when they want money. I’m a small business owner, and it feels like every single day we’re fighting tooth and nail just to keep going. Opportunities are limited as it is, and it’s hard enough to make a living without companies like Acuity making everything 10 times harder. They only reach out when they want money – but if you need something from them, good luck getting a response. It’s like they’re only interested in taking from people and not offering any real service in return. They couldn’t care less about providing decent service. But the real kicker came when I finally decided to cancel my policy. Suddenly, they were racing to reach out, scrambling to perform an audit. The issue? They predicted that I made more than I actually did, inflating the numbers and making wild assumptions. In reality, I made less than expected! Now, I’m stuck with the burden of proving them wrong, and to do so, I have to spend all my money on a lawyer to fight these unfair claims. It’s ridiculous that a company can get away with this kind of blatant dishonesty. And don’t get me started on the BBB. It’s clear they’re in Acuity’s pocket, just defending them no matter how many complaints pile up. It’s a broken system that lets businesses like this thrive on exploiting people. It’s honestly heartbreaking to see how businesses in America have shifted from serving the public to taking advantage of the little guy. Acuity Insurance is a prime example of this. They show zero accountability, no real customer service, and don’t hesitate to play dirty when they think they can get away with it. Avoid them at all costs unless you want to deal with constant headaches and stress.

We became customers of Acuity Insurance in the fall of 2022. We changed companies because our local agent retired and there would be no local agent for the insurance provider we'd previously been with. We chose Acuity on the recommendation of a family member who'd had very positive experiences--and also because there is a local/independent agency in our small community that works closely with us. We value know there's a local connection in matters like this. Acuity keeps us informed regularly, provides regular newsletters with helpful information, and seems to be very "on the ball." We are also very pleased with our local agency.

Their client damaged my one year old Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van they accepted the low repair estimate at face value. A lawyer wrote a demand letter that included the estimate from the repair shop, rental, hotel, gas and diminished value of $10,000 without the repairs. The adjuster tried to settle quickly for $10,000 in total. Her diminished value was less than half$3980. I ran the diminished value with a reputable company paid for the report using actual data and it came to$10,387. I informed the claims adjuster to readjust and the manger informed me they were not changing unless I have a lawyer representation. In order to recover legal fees I must file in small claims court in Texas the minimum property liability is $25,000 my claim is under that amount. The manager then suggested I file a claim with my insurance. Their client allegedly strung me along ,now they are making me go to court to delay paying me my rightful diminished value. Because this is property damage most lawyers will not take on the case unless it has personal injury. This is why they want you to hurry to sign the release and deposit the check. They don't want people getting second opinions or disputing their offer. I worked in this industry and know how they do people with closing them claims. Whatever your actual claim is their job is to settle for less than half. The average person don't have time to wait and jump through hoops for thousands of dollars owed to them it's too much of a headache,so they settle 99%. In my case,it's something more, I know it and they know it,they will never admit it but it's personal. The claims adjuster ego was bruised when I produced a DV from a reputable company. Now the manager and her decided to flex their Power. Check out my ****** review. This is why I left the industry cuz I couldn't sleep knowing I was robbing people of their rightful due claim. Unless you are wealthy your claims were most likely reduced by half or more. I'm going to small claims court.

This company is Horrible! 0 stars! After years of being a customer, they sent someone to look at our property and they had no idea what they were looking at. We have multiple dwellings on our property, including a commercial business, and the guy was looking at the wrong one to start with. Then he sent a letter stating that we needed fire extinguishers in the commercial business, but he wasn't even in that building! We always have up to date extinguishers since we get inspected by fire marshall every 6 months! Then I find out that they charge you a "service fee" no matter how you pay your bill. I had to pay a big chunk down and they charged me a $7 service fee. I set up auto pay, and they charge a $2 service fee for each aout payment they pull from your bank. If you actually send a paper check payment, they charge you a $5 service fee for that! This is nothing but a legal scam. If I did that in my business, I'd probably be put in jail. No impressed. Look elsewhere for your insurance. I am leaving them ASAP. I already have new stuff in the works! BYE BYE ACUITY!
