Home team was negligent while conducting the inspection on our property. They advertise that Asbestos, plumbing and a handful of other potential problems will be pointed out, which they have failed to do. For reference, we moved in on 9/28/23. ******** was discovered by a family member 3 days after we moved in, on 10/1/23. The asbestos was in a highly visible and easily accessible area(s) that the home inspector could have easily spotted. We reached out to ******** about this issue and **** had contacted us and told us asbestos can be used in newer homes. **** was misinforming us about the laws regarding asbestos, it is illegal for asbestos to be used in newer homes since it was made illegal in the late 70s. We were aware that our home was built in the 60s before asbestos was illegal, which is why we wanted a home inspection so they could point out possible asbestos and other issues. The asbestos was found in multiple areas of the basement ceiling, primarily near the ductwork, and on 3 of the vents on the main floor. After discovering the asbestos we reached out to DKJ Environmental, a professional asbestos abatement company. They confirmed the asbestos, and on 10/17/23 removed the asbestos. The plumbing was discovered within 4 days of moving in by a different family member. We reached out to several licensed plumbers who confirmed the basement and kitchen plumbing are not up to code and could cause potential health issues if its not fixed. The kitchen sink stack is an S-trap which is illegal in *********, and needs to be changed to a P-trap. The basement drain is open to the septic tank and needs to be capped and replaced with a proper drain. All of our waste passes through this open drain, which releases sewer gas into the air. A p-trap needs to be added into the drain as there is not one currently. We also reached out to a different home inspection company. We reviewed the asbestos and plumbing issues with this inspector and he stated this should have caught
