      Purchased 26 Solar Panels and a Generac Generator from Power Home Solar in August 2021 for $73,000. I requested service because the electrical bill is still high, Defective PV was discovered by the inspector fall of 2021 Energy bill is still high. Request for repair made. Power Home changed its name to *********** scheduled repairs 3 to 4 times and canceled or rescheduled each time. Finally, *********** emailed me that Generac Power Systems *** would make the repairs. Contacted Generac Power and the made an appointment and canceled and changed the dates too. No one has made any repairs. The electrical bill is still high.

      We had a solar system installed about a year ago, all generac products. It has never worked. The company that sold them to us was pink energy who is currently out of business. So now we have no working system and no one to fix it. So we called generac and they did send someone out to replace the snap part. But it did not fix the problem. The inverter is in an error state every single day and we are paying $1000 a month between electric and the solar payment. We are about to go bankrupt over this and no one will help us. Please come take your products back or reimburse us for a years worth of payments and fix this system!!

      We purchased a $12,000 home Generac Generator on 7/28/22 and it only worked 2 weeks. ****** sent the installation team out 6 times and it's still not working.This is a Faulty Generator and needs to be replaced. We now fear for our Safety and the safety of our community!

      3 months ago, I ordered a new 7.5 KW GENERAC generator (model G0069981) when it arrived, I installed the generator (I have over 30 years' experience as an electrician) when I tested the unit everything worked EXCEPT the automatic transfer function. I called GENERAC and spoke with their troubleshooting team and followed their instructions for tests without any success, they then recommended I call a local GENERAC dealer for warranty service. I called several and finally found one who has said for over a month that he would come out...I am still waiting. GENERAC should have someone come out and repair their product per their warranty.

      Generac as the manufacturing does not directly install or diagnose product on site. Any consumer in need of troubleshooting or a repair would need to work with a local dealer in their area. We do have a dealer locator on our website that offers contact information for service centers within a 200mile GPS zip-code radius.  It is the responsibility of each consumer to contact a service center to schedule their service.

      I bought an $80,000 Generac inverter/panels/battery solar system in 2021. It was installed by PowerHome ************* & working Sept 2021. It worked for 3 months before acting up. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to deal with it; I was sent on a short notice military deployment. After returning (Aug 2022), I noticed the electric bill increase and the system was not providing power to the house at all. The inverter is faulty (will not enable - per the panel screen) and the SnapRS801 connectors are also showing errors (known issue). Both of these components have warranties (inverter = 10 yr; SnapRS = 25 yr). After several calls to ************ 3 calls to Generac, & 3 calls to *********************** (Generac's recommended contractor for repairs)... I still have not received a projected date for repairs & *********************** has stopped answering their phone/will not return calls/messages. We have been trying to work with the companies listed above to get our system running for 2 months now. I have wasted 20+ hours of my personal time researching, sitting on hold, & running around in the circles they have set. At this point, I have a feeling that Generac does not have a viable or timely fix & is likely holding out as long as they can before the warranty calls & lawsuits start piling up even further. To whom it may concern at Generac, if you would like to provide one of your blanket statements about your commitment to resolving this issue, the case # is *******. We can have a 4th conversation about how you have no measurable means of fixing this issue.

      I am extremely disappointed in how generac is handling this issue that they cause for current solar customers when they updated remotely something in their system that has made anyone with equipment that was working just fine become paperweights. I have been waiting 2.5 months for a fix. I was supposed to originally have pink energy fix it but a week before my appointment generac said they would handle it causing my appointment to be canceled. When I asked generac for an estimate I get told I'm on the list someone will reach out. And I have heard absolutely nothing yet they aren't having any issues installing new systems. My past electric bill went up $250 over what it typically was while my system was working. All I'm getting is sorry for the inconvenience as a response. Being that my system is financed and is around $200 a month I owed over $500 last month for electric. I am extremely dissatisfied in how they are handling the issue they cause.

      We purchased a Model # ******* Generac 20KW whole house Generator in May of 2013. It has hardly ever been used except for it's weekly self test. During Hurricane *** our power went out and the Generac kicked on as it is supposed to do. After 15 hours it stopped and shut down with an "overspeed" error. In stopping it created a very loud rapid whining spinup noise and stopped. Our dealer came out to service the generator and advised that this "overspeed" errror is very common on these Generac generators and is a manufacturors defect. I asked him if we should consider buying a new generator or repairing this one. He advised we should try and repair. He ordered parts for the system a "ASSY NG/LP MIXER GTH999 20 KW" in which he ordered the same part for another person who had same problem with the same model Generac we have. After installing the part and starting the Generator, there is a very loud knocking noise now in which the Dealer advised this is a serious problem and feels the Generator will fail again under load. When checking this on the internet it appears it is in fact a very common defect on Generacs. I contacted Generac and advised of the issue and was told there is nothing they can do about it as it is 9 years old. I do understand the age of this generator and I would expect an item of this price to last much longer than this under such little usage especially under a factory defect. I am very unhappy with Generac and their service and could not recommend this brand to anyone else. A Generator such as this should last at least 15 years or more. Terrible product and terrible customer service. I don't expect a replacement, but I do expect some consideration for this defect since I am going to have to buy a new Generator.

      In May of 2021 I purchased a Generac Solar Power System from Powerhome Solar. At the time of my purchase, I was guaranteed that any service concerns can be handled by Powerhome who since has gone out of business, or the manufacturer Generac who had service personnel to assist on standby.Since Powerhome / *********** is no longer in business, I reached out to Generac due a battery issue which is keeping my system from c working at all. The response that I received from Generac's customer service was to go on their website and reach out to a local dealer that *** be able to service my product and reach out to them for warranty purposes. Since then I reached out to everyone locally on the list. The response from "all" has been that they "do not perform service calls" or are dealers only.Today (10/5/2022) @ 1:42 PM ET, I received a callback from a Generac rep after leaving a voicemail earlier seeking assistance. I advised the rep of that above from local dealers seeking further assistance locating a service person. Her response to me was that I need to keep trying from those on their website, that she cannot give me any service providers info, and that they could not help me further. I also asked to speak to someone at the next level up and was denied said request.I am currently stuck with a $78000 solar power system that does not work and that I am responsible for paying and getting no benefit from. Need help and also want others to know about this company's lack of help after one of their products / systems has been sold.

      I have called your business. This is where the original concern to the BBB initiated.  The constant phone call request to others and now your company again is not a solution.  I am seeking a fix.  I am also posting my initial concern below which describes how this all started with a call to Generac...  Should there be a solution from your team to make me whole, please call ************** (******).

      As of  today I have no solution to my continued system failure. I just revived another bill from the power company for $128 on top of the $350 bill for the solar panels. The system has again failed as the battery holds no charge, snaps have again been changed (4th or 5th time now), and now the lights in my bedroom and both bathrooms do not work at all. Water from a melting freezer / small fridge in my bedroom is now all over my bedroom carpet, Ive had to sleep in a hotel for two nights now, and I keep getting stalled on a solution with a constant well get someone to you in a few days response from Generac. A technician is being sent tomorrow again by NovaSource in yet another attempt to fix this faulty system not worth anything. At this point Id like to return this system and get out from a lemon. This is costing me more than what was promised. Not a good investment at all.

      I am unable to get a refund from anyone as Powerhome solar or pink energy is not longer in business. Additionally I am "unhappy to announce" that after calling Generac for assistance on 9/27, 10/5, 10/11, 10/31, 11/12, 12/1, 12/13, 12/14, and last on 12/31 (and many times prior to that to PowerHome ******************** Nova Source nor any other service company has yet reached out to me to fix the issue reported with this Generac System.

       

       We can continue this back and forth as long as Generac would like. Your equipment is faulty, doesn't work at all (or as promised), and no one is taking ownership of getting it replaced, corrected, or returned as a LEMON...

       

      Will definitely not ever recommend Generac product to anyone. I will make sure that everyone knows how bad of service I have received, how the systems do not perform as promised or when needed, and how it is a constant back and forth with no results on communications like this and the calls I am sure you all have on record.

      We bought an almost $1000 generator brand new after a power outage. We used it once. This generator has FOUR hours on it. I put gas stabilizer in gas as it's only used in outages. Next outages came, wouldn't start. Pulled and pulled and pulled. Start button wouldn't work, battery was shot. Replaced battery, start button still wouldn't even turn it over. Tried to start manually again to no avail. Brought in for warranty, they said carburetor is gummed up. I have NEVER had anything gum up on me in nearly 40 years! But this gummed you after just months??? Absolutely not!!!! There is a flaw in their design because it is thru NO fault of my own!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I always thought Generac was the way to go but I'm finding out otherwise. They want me to pay $400 for this? THAT isn't going to happen!!!

      Both my wife and I have called ***** who is working the case MULTIPLE times and left MUILTIPLE messages. This customer service is right there bouncing off the bottom with AT&T and ******** Absolutely HORRID!

      No, they surely have not! We have left MULTIPLE messages with 'Maddy," none of which were returned. She NEVER answers and NEVER returns the call.

      Please see the attached formal letter sent to the consumer outlining dates and times that this consumer was contacted with no return call. The consumer's wife did answer her phone, but would only direct Generac to her husband.

      We have left MULTIPLE messages that were never returned. I was calling EVERY day for a while. To make matters worse and because they never got back to us, the repair facility said they "scrapped" our generator. Even tho we know NOBODY scraps a $1000 generator that needs a carb cleaned, we still do not have it in our possession. We are suing the repair shop and now that I think about it, we are going to sue ********************** too!!

      September 15, 2022, Generac and *********** were parent company to install our Generator Power and solar panels. As the installation was in progress, we noticed the craftmanship work was incorrect and poorly installed. September 21, 2022, a cite supervisor was scheduled to come and supervisor and correct any defiiencies that was needed. On the day that was scheduled we received a phone from *********** stated that they will no longer be dealing with customers and all jobs will not be completed due to the company is out of business. We immediately contacted Generac who referred *********** for the Solar Panels and the Generator cell installation. To no avail, *********************** was unable to give us any assistance besides she is unaware of any problems, and she will reach out via email once she investigates this problem and gave us a case number #*******.Was unable to upload document can we email the documents to you.       These consumers were already in communication with Generac, and were reminded that as the manufacture, Generac does not participate in the installation of products. The consumers were encouraged to use the dealer locator on our website to locate another service center to help them complete the installation of their system.
