1 starThey told me no interest payments were do for 1st few years if paid, ur since IL was supposed to take care of that I wouldnt be charged for the back interest since not paid. They said if not paid off within time the new payment would start interest charges at that time, not accumulating from start. So my payment was supposed to be $80 / month for 12 yrs. 1st few years after accumulated all the interest and was paying well over $200 / monthReview fromVictor L

2 starsWe contracted with Sunbadger Solar in May 2022 for solar panels and installation. We put $15,444.00 of personal funds down for the down payment. We had the site survey done in September 2022, and were anticipating installation roughly February of 2023. January 14, 2023 we received an email from Sunbadger stating that there were delays due to supply chain issues, but that they were committed to seeing the project through. April of 2023 I emailed Sunbadger to ask about the status of our project. After a second inquiry I received a response talking about how they were suspending operations, but they were recommending Windfree Solar and supplying all information, surveys, etc. to Windfree in order to complete our project. We did make initial contact with Windfree solar, so they are aware of our project status,We would like the down payment be transferred to Windfree Solar so the we can complete our solar project. We are also contemplating legal recourse in order for this money to be transferred to Windfree Solar and that we can complete the project.Review fromMary W

1 starWe paid $11,544.00 on June 2nd to Sun Badger to install solar panels on our home supposedly to be completed in 2022. Our electrical work was completed in November and now we are waiting for installation of the solar panels. The electrician said it would be approximately 2 weeks. The communication was great in the beginning but the longer we waited for installation trying to contact them was more difficult until all communication was nonexistence. We were told the panels were on backorder and would be installed in February weather permitting. Now we are stuck with having to have someone else to complete it or wait and see if they come through yet.Review fromJose C

1 starTechnically I have a system installed on my house that fully functions. That is the only good thing I will say about SunBadger Solar.Because not 2 months after completion I received notice of an impending lien on my property from the electrician who did work on my meter and breaker panel. I tried emailing and calling SunBadger and only got the most generic response basically telling me "we are working on this urgently"Now 2/25/23 I got the official notice that there is a lien on my property. Plus nearly $800 in legal fees. Still can not contact anyone at SunBadger.Additionally to the whole lien fiasco SunBadger also failed to pay the monitoring company so I will be without the free 3 years of monitoring that was included in the system. I am also questioning if SunBadger will still exist to honor their workmanship warranty on the panels?Review fromDonna B.

1 starI had solar panels installed by Sun Badger Solar in June of 2019. I was happy until last August when I had a leak in the roof under what looked like a squirrel's nest between the roof and one of the solar panels. I had a roofer who had installed a new roof before the panels were installed. He removed the nest and said it looked like several of the bolts holding the solar panel frames were not sealed. In addition I now have no electricity going to ComEd. I have been trying to reach the local office in Arlington Heights for the past month with no return calls. Then I recently found articles on MSN.com and the Milwaukee Sentinel explaining that Sun Badger seems to have major financial problems and is no longer functioning as a business. They have left installation partially completed and are not paying employees nor a company with which they contracted to provide system monitoring. I don't have the money to start all over again with another company, and I don't know how to proceed.Review fromAnn E

1 starPurchased in May 31st 2022 with a target installation date of Mid Oct to Mid Nov. Installation process was very slow and the completion date kept being pushed back into December for various reasons or excuses. The installation was to be completed in two days instead took 5 separate visits. Communcation from the company was a joke. After the panels were installed. the array was supposed to be commissioned, however due to snow it was postponed several times. Sunbadger sent a crew to remove the snow off the panels and while sitting in our house, I could hear loud banging. When we took a look at our roof, we both noticed that one panel was dented and or cracked. I immediated texted Sunbadger about the damage and also stated that 12 out of 24 were not registering with error messages for those inverters. Jan 03, 2023, Sunbadger acknowledged the problem with the damaged panel and the inverter/panel issues. That same day, we got a text that Sunbadger was going to send their Service Coordinator to correct all the inverter/panel problems and promised installation of replacement panel when available. Days went by with no contacts from Sunbadger after repeated inquires left on their voicemail. Finally on Jan12,2023, I got a text that apologizes for the lack of communication and also states that all service teams are put on hold. I immediately answered back and got no response as to why they were put on hold. Finally we got a email (01-13-23) stating that Sunbadger was overextended due to demand and they would get back to us in 2 weeks. That was the last time we had any contact with Sunbadger. Voice mails were blocked and website deleted with no possible way to rectify our problemsReview fromPamela C

1 starI believe I signed my contract in July 2021. During this time I was also remodeling my main bathroom so I used my own electrician, which I'm glad I did now after seeing Sun Badger was not using a licensed electrician. When digging trench, they hit the electrical line from house to garage which then had to be fixed for me to open my garage door from the inside of my house. Sun Badger left a hole that was cut inside the garage when installing power box to outside of garage. It took approximately 4-5 months before everything was working. I purchased a 2nd battery to be installed, paid for that battery and now I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone to return my calls or emails from Sun Badger.15FEB2023 I called Enphase to see if they could get me any information on my 2nd battery, when it will be installed and if Sun Badger is out of business because all emails come back undeliverable.16FEB2023 I officially got a call from Enphase regarding my concerns and was informed that Sun Badger is officially "OUT OF BUSINESS". Enphase is now trying to help me find an installer and purchase my 2nd battery. I'm praying I don't have to pay for my battery again since I do now have to pay for a new installer to install that 2nd battery. I really wish now that I had gone with a different solar company.Review fromMichael S

5 starsI wanted to wait in writing a review until I gained comfort with my installed solar system. I am now there! I would highly recommend Sun Badger Solar, as I felt like they cared for me and my family, and reacted to status, installation, and issues quickly. with excellent, timely communication throughout the whole process. This is a very proactive, customer-dedicated company that was a joy to work with. I just want to publicly acknowledge the fine job and process that Sun Badger Solar executed to install our solar system. It is a system consisting of not only solar panels, but multiple electric meters, batteries, inverters, and electrical systems. We have 20 solar panels that have reduced our electrical bill by $150-200/month. Our batteries will provide enough power to critical systems like the heat and refrigerators for about 10-16 hours in the event of a power outage, then charge up the next day to provide enough power through the night. On the initial visit, Sun Badger came to the house to look at the roof, attic, and basement to assess for the optimal solution for us. They were upfront, and provided estimates on different configurations of panels & batteries. We were able to negotiate a solution that would work for us, based on a budget that would work for us. From that point, we waited about 2.5 months for them to do the permitting, interfacing & scheduling with the electric utility company, and the draw-up before the final install. The installation was pretty straight forward, but ran into issues that Sun Badger and their team stuck with to identify the root cause and resolve with the equipment manufacturer and the electric utility company, which took another 2.5 months. Once those were addressed and resolved, we have had no problems or issues. That has been now 8 months.Review fromJanelle C

Sun Badger installed my panels last summer. I paid cash. In Feb, 2023, I received an email from ******** stating they can no longer offer support of my set up because Sun Badger hasnt paid them. I made 9 calls to various contacts I had throughout my sign on & install process. Half the phone numbers are only busy & the others were no longer in service. Sun Badger shouldve been the ones to contact me & not the monitoring company. *** reached out to ************** for assistance in the monitoring & to find out about how to handle the warranty. So far nothing. BTWthe day I went live, they drove up in a couple of ****** vs a *****. Thats crappy to spend money on cars like that & not pay employees & leave customers hanging. I hope there will be compensation at some point.Janelle C

I have a Sun Badger set up. Sun Badger isnt around anymore to honor the warranty if anything would go wrong. Who would I call? They showed up at my house in Teslas but had to use my electricity to charge their phones which i thought was strange.
