Sun Badger Solar installed an array of 12 panels in fall 2021. However, from July 2023, no output is registering with WE Energies. The app that monitored output is no longer available and I can't find a substitute or someone who can look at my panels/meter to tell me what the problem is.Initial Complaint

We used Sun Badger Solar as services that did our initial installation of solar panels on our home. There was maintenance needed on our solar panels as two of the panels flipped upside down. Unfortunately, the company seemed to have went out of business and did not communicate any alternatives on who to use for future services. They had a lifetime warranty on any issues with our existing panel installation.Initial Complaint

We intended to install solar to off-set our energy costs. I had searched solar companies and clicked through a solar energy ad featuring ************ I provided my phone number and address, and was contacted by Sun Badger Solar.On Wednesday, June 8, ********************* called and explained the features and benefits of solar, Sun Badger, the process etc. He then sent me the presentation (attached) that included information about the system, the cost, and the payback period. Sun Badger required a down payment of half the total ($34,739.00 of $69,478) in order to proceed. On July 7, I transferred $34,739.00 to Sun Badger Solar LLC.On August 5, I attended an informational virtual "onboarding session" with onboarding specialist ***************************** that discussed more details about the timing and what could be expected throughout the installation. On August 9, a technician came and examined our roof, house and electricity set-up taking photos, notes and using a drone.On March 23, we received information that Sun Badger had gone out of business, which I then confirmed. ********** report that the ********* ********** of ******* (DOR) confirmed a tax warrant filed against the company and reported many people hoping to ******* Badger for hundreds of thousands of dollars.Bottom line: We have paid $34,739 and have not received any product or service. We signed a contract in December 2022 with Sun Badger to install solar panels on our property (at that time they had an A rating on BBB). The company required a downpayment of $13,534.00. Since that time we haven't heard a word from the company. No one answers the phone number. We have learned that the owner is not responding to anyone and has let all employers and salespeople go. We filed a complaint with the ****** ***************** case number S02314839. I have also requested termination of contract and deposit. In Dec. 2021, I signed a contract with Sun Badger, and got a loan for $63,115. In February 2022 there was a site survey and noted site issues Sun Badger would fix, change orders where signed, increasing initial loan to $65,594. There where delays with the project teams (indicating they were a little bit behind schedule). I was told I wouldn't have to start paying the loan until 2 months after the final install. In May another site visit came and they indicated I would need an electrical upgrade to my house, with another change order increasing my loan to $68,822. There where "other delays" for Sun Badger. In June a team came out to only solar panels were installed, no electrical work was being done at this time. Aug. ****************************************************************** September 2022, a trenching crew came out with little warning. I brought up concerns of underground propane, electrical, water lines. Sun Badger was going to contact the crew about my concerns, but the word never reached them. The trenching crew came out, I stopped them and informed them about the underground lines. They proceeded anyways and cut the propane line. I sent Sun Badger the propane repair bill, but they never paid it. No communication for another month. In October a new Sun Badger branch reached out to me, I sent them a list of my concerns. Communication was decent. They sent another team out to finish the electrical part in November 2022. But they were unable to make any electrical modifications "because they only had commercial license not residential" which should have been discovered initially. They told me I needed to call a private electrical company to upgrade my houses electrical. Then communication completely stopped. A general email from the *** was sent in January 2023 about delays in work. I found out through social/news media/TMJ4, that I wasn't the only one with issues and the company isn't responding to anyone. I now have $68k of paperweights on my garage.Initial Complaint

I have a contract with Sunbadger solar for a solar system and added a critter guard to that. On 11/14/2022 I paid Sunbadger $1317.00 for that critter guard. They never installed the solar or critter guard and stopped answering all calls and texts. I would like a full refund.Initial Complaint

On December 7, 2022 I signed a contract for installing solar panels on my residence - with Sun Badger Solar (******** addresses are in *********** and *****************). Total contract price is $28,810. I paid downpayment of $8,643 on 12/09/2022. All contact with Sun Badger Solar fell silent in January 2023. I have made many attempts to reach their personnel - sales; service; 'onboarding' preparations; etc. over the past month+. All emails 'bounce back', phone messages not returned, no communication at all. - I have learned through researching news media in ********* that Sun Badger Solar paused - 'ceased'? - operations January. - I am trying to find out status of my contract and installation of solar at our home in ********, ********.
