    If anyone is thinking of having Dodrill do a furnace/ac replacement, make sure that they explain that a 10-year parts and labor guarantee is only good for one year unless you have them service the equipment a couple time a year at a cost for the remaining 9 years.

    Called the company to come out and look at my AC that had quit working the previous day. The technician was there for about 20 minutes. He took the capacitor out and did a couple of tests, looks at me and says the compressor is out. He then proceeded to tell me that it would be $2300 for the compressor and somewhere between $1050 and $1400 for freon. The next day I had another company come look at it, they switched out the capacitor and had it fixed within 10 minutes of being there. The technician from Dodrill clearly either didn't know what he was doing, or he was just trying to get one over on me and sell the wrong part which would've gained them a lot more money in the process. They did reimburse me what I had paid for the technician to come out. But everyone should be aware of this situation and if I had not got a second company to look at it, they would have changed the wrong part out, it still would not have worked, and I would have been charged to replace that as well. There is no telling how many people that this has happened to and if I had not had a second company look, they would have taken me for around $3200.
