File a consumer complaint against Bishs RV regarding an egregious failure to submit a warranty claim in a timely manner, resulting in a loss of coverage and an attempt to bill me for over $12,000 in repairs, along with an unjustified $1,400 diagnostic fee. On April 1, 2025, I met with Bishs for a virtual service consultation regarding malfunctioning components on my camper (air conditioner and refrigerator). During this consultation, Bishs staff received my warranty coverage information and scheduled a drop-off for April 16, 2025. At that time, my warranty was still active and set to expire on April 25, 2025. I relied on Bishs to inspect the camper, diagnose the problems, and handle communication with the warranty provider as I, the consumer, am not permitted to file warranty claims directly. I was informed that Bishs RV did not contact the warranty company until April 26, 2025, the day after the warranty expired. The warranty provider denied the claim. I was then told by Bishs RV that I would be responsible for over $12,000 in repair costscosts that would have been covered had they filed the claim while the warranty was active.I have attempted to resolve this issue directly with the local management, who insist it is not their fault and have refused to take any accountability. This reflects poor business practices and possible violations of consumer protection laws.Failure to Act Within Warranty Period and Improper Denial of Access to Property:Despite no repairs being completed, Bishs RV has refused to return my camper until I pay a $1,400 diagnostic fee. This effectively holds my property hostage as leverage for a payment I am disputing. This practice is coercive and, in the view of many consumer protection agencies, may constitute an unfair or deceptive business practice.

      Hi *******,

We are very sorry that your warranty company has declined to offer coverage for your repairs. As you may know, we have attempted to escalate your concerns regarding the denial of coverage with the warranty company on three separate occasions. Unfortunately, the warranty company has refused to reconsider.

Regarding your position that ****** ** failed to contact your warranty company in a timely manner, I would like to provide some clarification. It is correct that you dropped off your camper at our Cheyenne location on 4/16/2025. We brought it into the shop to begin diagnosis and repairs on 4/24/2025, which was the earliest date we had available. We contacted your warranty company on 4/28/2025 requesting coverage for these repairs, at which time we were informed that your warranty coverage had expired.

In order to submit for warranty coverage, we must first diagnose any repair concerns and provide our estimate as to the labor hours required to perform the recommended fix. We must also research the parts that will be required to make the repairs. Only then can we submit for warranty coverage. Considering the extremely busy nature of the spring season as RV owners are preparing for the camping season, we are proud of the rapid turnaround time we were able to provide in this case. We regret that we were unable to submit for warranty coverage prior to your warranty expiration, and we are disappointed that your warranty company has chosen not to offer coverage given that diagnosis for your concerns began prior to expiration of your coverage. However, we cannot accept responsibility for the limited timeframe that you provided us to complete the warranty submission process. We encourage you to reach out directly to your warranty coverage provider to express your concerns and request an exception, if you so choose.

We have done the best we can to operate efficiently and facilitate warranty coverage requests and repair services. We also discounted our diagnostic labor rates for you in consideration of the warranty coverage denial. Prior to this recent repair order, we have not provided repair services for your trailer in the past, as our previous interactions involved part orders only. Had you brought your trailer to us with more time prior to your warranty expiration, we would certainly have been able to submit for warranty coverage prior to expiration.

We welcome you to reach out if you would like to discuss this concern further.

      Sincerely,

I dropped off my RV for warranty repairs to the slideout. ****** contacted me that the repairs were completed and that I could pick up my RV. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, they had parked it within one foot of other campers on either side of it so that I could neither perform a walk around nor test the serviced equipment. When I was able to perform a walkaround and test the repaired equipment, both failed. A hole was located on the upper, front, driver's side on the exterior of the vehicle and the slideout was not working properly. ****** has since repaired the slideout but is denying that they are responsible for the exterior damages that occurred on their lot, which they attempted to cover up by placing the vehicle in an impossible situation to walkaround. It is my desire that ****** repair the vehicle.

      *******,

Thank you for your feedback and allowing us the opportunity to resolve your concern.

After reviewing this situation with our store management and staff, our understanding is the following: 1) it is your position that your unit was damaged after you dropped it off at our store for repair in June 2024. However, you did not notify us of the damage until September 2024; 2) when you dropped off the unit to us in September 2024, the hole in question was taped over, indicating the damage did occur sometime before the September visit, and you indicated to our management team that you have pictures from July 2024 showing the damage present at that time; 3) our service staff have indicated that no such damage was present when you picked up your unit after we completed work on it from your June 2024 appointment.

Lacking any concrete evidence to assist us in determining when or how this damage occurred, we are unable to provide full compensation for the cost of this repair. However, we are willing to discount our labor rate and parts costs to relieve the burden of repairs. Our General Manager for the Cheyenne store, **** *****, will be reaching out to you via phone to discuss the full details and provide an estimate of the final cost. We are sympathetic to your need for repair and look forward to assisting you with this matter.

      Sincerely,

      Bish's RV of Cheyenne

We signed the loan and purchase paperwork on Jan 30, 2024. During the walk through the Tech, the salesman and the Fiance Manager made several verbal promises on items to be left in the used unit, items to be fixed, etc., etc. An agreement to replace the windshield was reached with us paying up to $2,000.00. The *** light also came on and to be fixed. The hose and accessories for the built in vaccum was missing and were ordered but as if July 10th i still don't have them. The unit was left at ********** for the repairs agreed to. Since it was getting very cold I also asked that it be winterized. That took about 6 weeks, then the dining room/Bedroom slide motor went out, after finally getting it, the chain broke while testing it. That took another few weeks. On May 2nd it was supposed to be usable and roadworthy. On the way to **** the new windshield leaked, the passenger side rear view mirror and both front fenders were all vibrating very badly. While in ****, the electric steps stopped working and the hot water was next to nothing. I had to go to *****, ******* before ****** had any answers to anything as my daughter is terminally ill. I then discovered there is no seal of any kind on the bottom of the living room slide out; a 2 1/4 inch wide open gap for dirt, bugs, etc to come right inside. I got a new step motor, some plumbing supplies and some rivets and repaired most of the remaining issues except for the slide seal. ****** will not answer any of my emails, messages now. This used unit should have never left ****** lot in the shape it was in. ****** verbally promise you the moon but the verbal is useless and it tells you that right in the purchase agreement. I now question the ***** milage as this unit has been in **, **, **, .W. ********, **********, etc.

Today we picked up our brand new RV for the second time from bishs RV in Cheyenne Wyoming because they couldn’t figure out how to properly vent our dryer. Without our permission, they drilled two holes in the side of our RV and didn’t call to let us know or to even ask if that was OK. Brian, the GM came out to supposedly try to help us and offered little to no solutions on how they’re going to fix the fact that we still have an open hole in the side of our RV with nothing connected to it and a patch on the other side that lets air and moisture come in.

We have had nothing but issues from the beginning with this branch. They left us in the dark for a week while we were trying to buy the RV. And now we have two holes in the side of our RV with no solution on how they are going to be fixed.

The dishonesty is extremely concerning and that is the reason why we chose not to have any further work done by this branch because we don’t know what else will happen next.

On July 25 2022 our camper was taken to Bish's RV in Cheyenne, WY due to a 3rd party accident. Bish's performed an insurance adjustment quote for the insurance company and quoted 10929.04 in repairs. On Oct 2, 2022 insurance received the signed release docs and sent a check directly to Bish's for repair costs totalling 10929.04. After approx. 1 to 2 weeks Bish's requested that we bring the camper home, as the axles and kingpin box/hitch were replaced, but waiting on parts that should be in in less than 1 year. In April of 2023 we saw the exterior passenger wall caulking was cracked out and shouldn't be. Bish's had us bring back the camper and kept it for approx 3 months trying to fix it and stated our skirting (parts) was in. A warranty was issued due to lack of ability to repair the side wall caulking and the parts never showed up. September we brought back the camper due to the pass front tire being out of alignment and tire (1 year old) beginning to "cup." We were told it was due to sitting so long. When I requested all service records none could be found and neither could the alignment report for the axles. Scheduled a 2nd opinion with Camping World in Cheyenne and they told us almost nothing was not repaired and what was repaired, was poor quality work and stated that the side wall with sealing issues was due the the wall separating. We have spoken many many times to Bish's service desk, service manager and GM with no resolve. They were paid for the materials and labor so why won't they perform what was promised? We just want our camper fixed and put back to the original state prior to the accident. Please see attached documents including insurance release with instructions of payment to Bish's, original repair order, 2nd opinion and repair cost and more. Thank you for your time.
