Check-in 24hours in advance and only $$$ preferred seating available or you sit at the back of the plane and split from the rest of your party. This is extortion to its simplest degree. ********* airlines have unassigned seating. The food here is overpriced and barely edible. I wouldnt offer this kind of food for free!Lavatories are always smelly and dirty. Please fix all this

THE WORST EXPERIENCE with any company I have encountered in my life. Started about 2h prior to our departure from *** where we were advised our plane would be delayed causing us to miss our connection in ***. Inconvenience, yes however I realize that this happens especially nowadays. After weighing the possible options with a check-in agent we were advised we could catch a flight from another airport nearby with a different airline. The biggest blessing of this whole situation was getting booked on another airline flying out and not with Air Canada. We were not so fortunate on the way back and ended up on Air Canada. We checked our luggage in *** and were told that we would not have to pick it ** in our connecting city and it would be available to us at baggage claim at our final destination. FIRST LIE. We then proceed to our flight where we are boarded and end up sitting on the tarmac for 1h20m. Our layover for our connecting flight was a bit longer this time allowing us 2h (plenty of time- one would think) to get to our next flight. Well upon entry into *** airport we are directed to a line for customs/security that we stood in for so long that we would have missed our flight had it not been delayed 45m. We ran to the gate only to find it hadn't even boarded and there was no attendant at the gate. There was absolutely no communication and the staff was horrible, rude and had no clue what was going on. We finally get home only to find that only 4 bags came out at baggage claim.. none of which were ours. We were handed a sorry excuse for a form to fill out w/contact info for our lost bags and told we'd get an email with a ref # to track them. The next night we get an email and upon continual checking the status says, "tracing continues. please check back later." It's now day 5 and we still have no bags, I have waited on hold for hours and have received no help. We are told one bag is going to be delivered but hasn't yet. The other still tracing... NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

Air Canada (**) lost our checked luggage and that is fine, it happens. However, their lost luggage assistance is a total joke. We arrived at ********************************************************** (***) at 6 p.m. after an 18 hour journey home from *********. Our luggage did not arrive with us. Air Canada does not have a lost luggage department at *** so we went up to ticketing and we were informed by a United agent that the Air Canada reps went home for the night. Okay, no big deal, "Let's call their toll-free number from the car and file a report." That is where the poor experience got really bad.On the way home we called (888) number as directed. A recorded ** message with no menu options stating (paraphrased): Thank you for calling ** Delayed luggage hotline. We are too overwhelmed to help you with a live representative, so please complete a claim on the ** website." After what sounds like a hang up click a recorded menu starts playing. We selected delayed luggage and were put on a never ending hold with really scratchy music. After 3 hours we hung up because we needed to go to bed. After we arrived home (and while continuing to listen to the bad hold music) we went online and simultaneously started to complete a delayed baggage report. After taking 20 minutes or so to fill in the report it asked for a required incident report number. There does not appear to be anyway to get that number online and we were unable to complete the report. We were very frustrated and went to bed (see above.)The next day we called the delayed baggage hotline again. Again we were put on hold. After 2 hours we decided to drive back to *** and found the ** ticketing agents. Hooray! The very nice agents completed the form and gave us an incident report number. Oops! Today that incident number does not exist on the ** baggage tracer website. I have now been on hold with ** for 1 hour. Will somebody ever pick up? This review does not even factor in the two flight cancellations and delays!

I had a flight with Air Canada on 06/27/2022 from *** airport to *************, this wasn't a direct flight, my wife and I had to fly from ****** to ********, then a connection from ******** to ******, and a final flight from ****** to *****. The flight that we took from *** was 3 hours delayed which resulted in loosing our connection to ******. We stayed in the airport for more than 15 hours, we were not offered a hotel room, nor food vouchers. According to Air Canada rules and printed instructions we deserve a refund, we filed a claim on 06/29/2022 with Air Canand and we received a case number, all what we got from them was an auto generated apology email. We still need to get our refund and we should be reimbursed for the inconvenience we had to go through. It was such a chaos in the airport to the point that the ** channels and network came out to document the situation.

The worst airline that exists, it has nothing good, the crew is rude, the food is average, the old planes are always late or cancel, if you call costumer service they tell you that the waiting time is 2 hours. I chose this airline without reading the reviews, I just imagined that since it was the ******** airline it was good. WHAT A SERIOUS MISTAKE, I have traveled in many but honestly this one has no name. I flew ***** ******** Athens, what a nightmare, the first delayed flight, I was able to make the connection because all their flights are always delayed, the ******** airport is a tremendous Chaos, it seems that it does not have capacity for the people it receives. Back I had a layover of 3 hours and I spent all of them making lines in the corridors of the airport trying to check point for American citizens, something incredible. On my last flight ******** ***** I had upgraded my seat to one in aisle since I had come from a 10 hour flight and I wanted to be more comfortable and when I finally got to the counter they changed my seat to one in the middle and told me that they would make me a refund. It was not about the refund but that I had paid and chosen a seat and they changed me without any explanation. Extremely rude plane crew, really do yourself a big favor and avoid this airline.

We booked flight from ********* to *******. However the flight at ********* was delayed for two hours because of some technical issue. We missed our connection flight at ******* and have to stay overnight. After a long queue to rebook our flight, Air Canada representative said they cannot give us a hotel voucher since the delay was out of their control. This is ridiculous, so it became the customers fault and we have to pay several hundred dollars for a hotel and have no luggage with us. No wonder Air Canada becomes the worst airline in a few years!

This company engages in outright *****, in addition to having the worst customer relations ever. If I could give minus stars, I would.*** ****** I purchased $2,000+ in tickets right before the pandemic. Air Canada canceled the flight, and indicated that I have 2 years from the flight cancelation date to rebook (July 27, 2020). I called confirm this by phone with them in 2021 (even though Americans couldn't fly to Canada at that point) and the agent indicated they had converted the airfare to a voucher that I can use any time -- no expiration. When I contacted them three weeks ago to book a flight, they claimed the records are no longer in their system and I have to contact Customer Relations. There is no actual phone number for Customer Relations, they say, so I have to send an email and just wait. Three weeks go by, and I get a short email today saying its been over two years since I purchased the flights and they are no longer valid (ie, ***** ******** **** *****). This is even though the original flight cancelation notice said the tickets would be available until two years from date of the canceled flight (not purchase date) and I'm still within that window. Now they are trying to run out the clock on this date by not responding to my email. Its appalling that Air Canada treats their customers this way -- ********* ******** ** ******

On June 11, 2022 my cousin and I flew Air Canada from *********** > ******* (1 1/2 hour delay due to technical issue), ******* > ******** (1 1/2 hour delay due to customs, safety and immigration) and then from ******** to ****** ***** (1 1/4 hour delay due to Under investigation, and due to cleaning). Constant excuses.Upon our arrival we found that our luggage was never loaded on the plane. We were sent to the claim window to file a claim. Air Canada responded to us the 1st couple days and then all of a sudden stopped. They said we needed to file another claim, which we did, yet not sure why. We spent two weeks in ***** with no clothes other then the extra outfit we packed in our carry-ons. We had to buy new clothes, toiletries, shoes, new luggage, etc. It has been 30 days now and we still have no luggage, nor does the airline seem to care. They will not answer their phone and they will not respond to emails. On our way back to the states we flew from **** to ********. The next flight from ******** > *********** the plane was again delayed like 2 hours late. Finally, the Pilots and the Stewards boarded the plane and then they started to board us. We all boarded and were sitting on runway for quite some time, Stewards served us water while we waited and then all of a sudden, they announced that our flight was canceled and we needed to go and claim our luggage in baggage claim.I asked a gal "now what are we supposed to do?" and she was extremely snotty and told me that I would need to find another flight. By the time we got our luggage and went to stand in line again to hopefully find another flight to hop on we received email from Air Canada, they were nice enough to reschedule our flight for the next morning. This meant that we would need to sleep in the airport because we would need to hop in line again in 3 hours to check baggage in again. This is the worst experience I have ever had and will NEVER again book a flight with Air Canada!
