    I agreed with signing on with Easy Energy back 5 years ago, when they promised me a better rate on my natural gas than what I was getting with the delivery provider(*********) So Ive been paying $7.00 per Gjgajoule for 5 years and feel so foolish to have let this ************ get away with this when everyone else I know has been paying less tan $3.00 . I just want to know if Scam companies are legally allowed to operate in our country and can continue to do so, especially to steal from vulnerable seniors.

    we received a call from easy energy falsely claiming that rates with fortis will be going up and that we should sign up with easy energy as their rates would be better. WRONG... since signing up with easy energy our bills have increased substantially! Totally not impressed.

    When I asked what happens when ********** prices go down - salesman response was " oh we decrease your price to the same as Fortis" This was a lie - we got charged an extra $70 per month for the last three months. I was also told that I could cancel at any time - when I called to cancel they said it would cost $756.00 - they did finally reduce this to $52.50 only after me complaining about their lies - we have now canceled - just be careful about signing up with them

    My father was contacted today by phone. Easy Energy told him they were affiliated with ******. ****** D ***** talked my 85 year old dad. He said he could give him a better rate and asked him to go to his computer. He then guided my father to click on a few buttons from an email he just sent which was actually e-signing for a 5 year contract. My dad said he had no idea this was even an agreement. He was then told by ******, they will call him tomorrow and they can finalize everything. I looked over the agreement a few hours later and we discovered it was NOT ****** as they claimed and when we emailed back to CANCEL, the email was a no reply email. It is ridiculous and uncalled for that individuals have access to our information and especially the elderly. This is unacceptable.

    My son signed a contract even though he isn't on my contract which I don't even know how that can he exceptable. I am now paying $6.527 per gigajoule. However the current price at fortis bc is $2.20. So I am paying $4.327 more per now then I did prior to this contract being signed. I had the same thing happen. The contract was signed back in August but too efect in October. The first month I paid $71.82 more than I did before. From November first to December second I paid $352 under this contract. If I didn't sign this contract under fortis bc current price I would have saved $145.72. I was offered a cancellation fee of $613.52 which they waived and I have to keep it for one year. $613.52 divided over 5 years is equal to $122.33. Yet I have paid more in two months then that. I don't know how this company is able to operate. I feel bad for the employees. How can my son sign a contract when I am the account holder. This why I am turning to the BBB for a resolution. I shouldn't even have to keep the 1 year they are forcing on me. They are only doing that because they know they will make far more than the "penalty" in the first few months even if I kept it for a year. Like other reviews I was told they would play a recording. I have had no other company say we can play back a recording for you. Even the ****** reviews are negative and the response by the "owner" is pre written because for all the negative reviews it's the same response word for word.

    Somebody from easy Energy came to my house in July 2024, offering to sign a 5 years contract for the same price of gas $ 6.75per GJ. As a reference price of current provider (Fortis BC) the sale person offered a price of gas $6.527. I remember to conclude that cost of gas is just $0.22 higher, but it is going to be stable for five years. I signed the contract. For unknown for me reason it starts in October and only in November I have realized, that my gas bill is higher than usual. I start looking and find that $6.527 per GJ is delivery of gas and the cost of gas at ********* set at $2.23 per GJ. I realized that I am billed 3 times more for the cost of gas by Easy Energy, I called to cancel this agreement. Manager ****** explains that I do not understand the value of the contract. Three times higher cost of gas is beyond by understanding. I believe that a lot of customers call to cancel and ****** played a recording. Even though the recording mention the price of gas $ 6.75, it does not states clearly that this is three times higher than current market price at *********. I believe that it is crucial information and should be clearly stated at the time of signing. Than manager ****** offered very high cancellation fee around $700, but finally agreed on $78.75 that I have paid. I have been promised cancellation from Dec 1. However several questions appear:What is the value of this company for people?How the process of signing a new customer are monitored?Does the company targets older people having trouble to understand details of the bill? Should the company clearly state at signing the contract that the offered cost of gas is three times higher?

    Why 3 Stars : I was over the 10 day cancellation period by 5 days and I was still permitted to cancel my contract. I feel that this courtesy deserves 3 stars. I did sign the contract and it was my fault I didn't do more of my own due diligence. What follows is why I could not in good conscience go over 3 Stars.
    Paying Double $$ : I am currently paying $2.23 / GJ. The Contract Price was $6 / GJ. That means for my next bill I would have had my eyes pop out as my bill more than doubled.
    Past 4 Years : The price of natural gas has been below $6 / GJ for the past 4 years, most of that time hovering around $3 / GJ. I can only imagine how incredibly frustrating it must be for customers to be regularly paying double what other customers are paying.
    **** : While not being a true ****, as everything is legal and even has ******' official permission to be listed on the website, a "service" where people will likely be paying double for the majority of their contract's duration can't help but leave the bad taste of a **** with someone.
    Valued Customer : The salesperson I spoke with on the phone said that only "Qualified" customers would be approved for the program. It sounded like it was a reward for customers who kept up to date with their bill payments. I thought I was being rewarded as a valued customer. Paying double for my natural gas, month after month would have been a terrible way to reward a reliable customer.
    10 Days : This is NOT sufficient time for a customer to make an informed choice. A company that was confident they were providing an excellent service would let the customer "try" the product before they commit to it.
    First Bill Cancellation : The FAIR way would be for customers to be given the opportunity to cancel their contract after they receive their first bill with the new arrangement and see how they feel about it. The reality is paying double would not sit well though would it?
    Conclusion : Grateful for my courtesy, but I cannot recommend.

    I want to say probably the pushiest company ever! A lady came in June and pressured me to sign up even when telling them over and over my manager wasn't present and that we did NOT want to be a part of this program. Then a guy showed up again in October (today) and said that we never got signed up and are again pressuring me to sign up. I ended up going into my email showing him the estimate and they had originally sent and told him 'we are not signing up, end of discussion'. He then proceeds to explain the whole program again for the next 30 mins and insists on seeing my Fortis statement. I told him, No and he proceeded to then explain how the program is like a vaccine and it protects you. I finally just told him that we are not signing up for this nonsense and to stop coming to our business. Just turn them away immediately!!!!!!!

    I wish I could leave 0 stars. Asked to cancel 2 weeks after signing and they want $800!
