I have purchased five appliances in the last six months from Coast Appliance for residential rentals. Two of the five arrived broken. The company will not accept returns of these items. Customers are forced to engaged in lengthy repair processes with an affiliated company. A fridge delivered on December 12th is still not functioning. Coast will not replace it. The "parts" for the repair are backordered and to date I have no timeline for repair. It is currently two months after install. The floor of the kitchen is being damaged by water leakage and the tenant's food is spoiling since the fridge won't stay cold. It seems unethical to accept money from customers for already defective products.Business Response

I purchased a home with a builder in Edmonton. They had negotiated a $7000 credit to coast appliances for me to purchase appliances for my new home. I went to pick everything out selected to have it delivered. They told me they would be in touch to when the delivery would be so I would be able to go and inspect for any damage. They also said that the delivery would be prior to my pre-inspection and over by a day or two. When I went on June 28 for my pre-walk-through, I noticed my appliances were delivered noticed damage, took photos and outlined damage with tape emailed and notified Coast appliance. They got back to me asking for more details which I provided in a timely manner they notified me that they had done delivery on June 15 and had not notified me as to the delivery. Therefore I was outside of the seven days of reporting damage that the manufacturer would need to replace said damaged delivered items. as this was not something that was an error on my end and completely their error. They at this time said they would look into it and get back to me. Fast forward for months. I have multiple at multiple times tried calling their service department, their store, the sales person and store managers everybody involved and not one person has gotten back to me. At the time of purchase I did also purchase warranty which has not been honored. The delivery warranty has not been honoured at this point. the company has just been waiting for me to give up so I have faulty damaged appliances. n
After the initial complaint they had sent a ******* appliance company who inspected the fridge for the crack on the interior. I’m sad I will contact Coast appliance. They should be able to replace it on their end a ******* will not be taking care of the damage as they weren’t notified seven within seven days of delivery.

I just wanted to share that we have worked out with the client to reselect her appliances and she is taking the new items Dec 14th for delivery.
You can close this file and advise the client that we have reached out with the decision made amicably between client and Coast Appliances.

Order the dishwasher in May. Promised delivery May 16 - salesmen said he had lots of them in a warehouse in Edmonton. In June, I called to see why no dishwasher. Sorry says the salesman, I have a big load coming through the port of Burnaby will get you one soon. Nothing arrives end of June. Called in July and talked to the manager as it is clear the salesman is useless. He says, oh yes one has been set aside for me and someone will call for installation. One week later I get an email saying my dishwasher is damaged. More lies and delays with them suggesting a September delivery. It is now October and I have no information from them. We have communicated with client and his file ahs been settled with a refund.
The over-the-counter microwave, was not in stock and no concrete eta on arrival- refund was honoured.
It was a pleasure to speak to the client I have told him that he can contact me if he chooses to give us another chance in the future for his appliance needs.
He was grateful for the call .

Coast Appliances delivered our dryer which was supposed to be BRAND NEW 'apparently', however huge scratches on the side of the dryer. I have made several calls to the Salesperson Ramon and text messages sending pictures of the scratches and NO REPLY, **** *********Business Response

She will be issued a $50 credit to keep unit as is, and we are shipping the client touch up paint to address the areas that show to be scuffed.

We bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Coast Appliances as part of a new house. June 23, 2022. The dryer broke after 2 months of use. We have been trying to get if fixed since August 24, 2022. Angela at Coast Appliance will not fix the appliance and now does not respond to repeated phone calls.Business Response

July 23/22 bought fridge from Coast appliance Main street location. Installed Aug 10/22. Since the Aug 11 the fridge compartment freezes every this solid. Paid $3000.00. I have been in contact and will do nothing, but tell me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer tell me to contact coast. I would like a refund or a new fridge.

We replaced her defected fridge and delivered a new one. The fridge arrived and was installed same day .
There were noted imperfections and the installer was able to blend out a scuff mark and order a new shelf, we have also assured her that her purchased extended warranty would transfer over
