We purchased a new stove from Coast Appliances in ************* (**********************) on April 12, 2025. It was delivered on April 15. The range will not stay on (keeps shutting off). Initially, we thought it might simply be that we didnt know how to use it. But then we started getting error messages (within the first 7 days) and it wont even turn back (usually approx 10 min before the error clears). After repeated calls, Coast Appliances sent a repair company who informed us that the brand new stove needed a new control board (this frustrated us as our brand new appliance will now be refurbished but fine). We were told that it would take 2 weeks. Its been 3.5 and no one will even phone us back to give us a timeline. (We have been told at least 6 times since the stove was delivered that someone will call us back within that business day or the next morning. No one ever does. I have 3 teenagers and to date, we have spent over $1000 on take out meals as I cannot cook meals on the stove. It has been almost 7 weeks since this stove was delivered and we have been able to cook on our stove. We have been more than patient. We either need this appliance fixed as soon as possible (which I no longer believe will happen as if a repair was imminent, someone would at least call me back), a replacement or a refund.Initial Complaint

Purchased a washer dryer set (ge) from coast appliances. The coquitlam location had the items in stock and took over the order. The first delivery, the washer was severely damaged with a cracked (in multiple places) front.Refused delivery. Arranged for a new unit to be delivered. The "new" unit appears to have a faulty drum, and or belt. It makes an extremely loud clanking sound when it operates. The installation of the stacking mechanism appeared to be done extremely poorly, with screws put in sideways and other screws not put in at all. There were also missing screws which seemed to have mysteriously disappeared (likely in the pockets of the installers).I contacted the manager in training ******* and he replied with passing the problem off to ge. No mention of the poor installation, and no real recourse. I requested a new unit and compensation for the faulty installation.Initial Complaint

We bought a dryer from this business on Sunday March 2nd. We picked it up and installed it on Tuesday March 4th. The dryer was making a loud screching noise and would not heat properly, taking multiple cycles to dry. We reached out to the sales associate at Coast Appliances on Thursday March 6th to see what could be done. She said she would set up a warranty claim which I'm not sure if she ever did. We contacted the dryer company to start the warranty ourselves. We got a technician out on March 25th to take a look. He said it needed a replacement part and they would order it. On April 17th, I reached out to the store to make them aware that we still did not have a working dryer and that the part was backordered with no *** on when we would be receiving it. I didn't hear back so I followed up with the store on April 23rd. On April 24th, I heard back from the business and they stated that the part was not backordered and they would have a different company reach out to us to book the install. It is now May 7th, I have not heard anything from this other business that Coast Appliances said would reach out to me. On May 4th I reached out to Coast Appliances to see how I could contact this other business and have not heard back. Purchasing a brand new dryer at this store but having it be defective from the time it left the store is really frustrating. This is now taken over 3 months to get dealt with and it has yet to be resolved. We haven't had a working dryer for 3 months now. I would like Coast Appliances to issue a refund at this point.Initial Complaint

On January 20, 2025, I purchased a dishwasher (by phone) from *** ***** at Coast Appliances; it was delivered and installed the next day. Afterward, the installer informed me that there was a slight leak under the sink, denied that it had anything to do with the installation, and insisted it was coming from the p-trap. I placed a basin under the sink to catch the slight leak but was surprised the next day to discover about 2 cups of water in the basin. When I reported this to **** Love, (store manager) she sent out another service man who was rude and abrupt and immediately claimed it was the p-trap. After I paid to have the p-trap replaced, the leak continued. It became apparent that the leak was coming from the water valve attached to the dishwasher; the leak stopped after this valve was tightened with a wrench. The dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes very well. On inspection it was discovered that the installer had failed to remove a white zip tie on the sprinkler arm, preventing it from spinning. An email and photo were sent to *** *****, who replied It is the responsibility of the customer to remove it. I then contacted **** Love (mngr.) who agreed that the installer should have removed it. This was followed by an apology from Dev and a phone message from **** offering to have the sprinkler arm replaced. However, since then she has not replied to my several attempts to contact her. I also made several attempts by email and phone to contact the district manager, Alek Granula, and the Service Manager at *********** in B.C. To date (May 1st) not one of them have returned my calls. I am shocked and appalled that Coast Appliances could have so many dismissive, incompetent, unprofessional employees.Initially my reason to have a conversation with them was to request an extra year on my warranty, however, given the circumstances, I will now expect compensation for the time and effort this has needlessly taken! ******* ********Initial Complaint

In June 2024, I purchased a new refrigerator from Coast, along with an extended warranty. From the beginning, the unit was defective. I had numerous issues with Coast in *************** which I wont even bother getting into here. The defective fridge was finally replaced under warranty in the fall of 2024. That one was ALSO defective. It was finally replaced under warranty in January 2025. Whirlpool/Maytag told me that they could not honour the extended warranty on the new unit as I purchased it through Coast. I contacted Coast and they said they would transfer the warranty. I have been emailing them for two months and have had one response, on Feb. 20, to say they hadnt heard from the warranty provider yet. I still havent had an update despite sending emails.I have many emails I can share with the business, upon request.Customer Answer

I purchased 6 appliances from Coast Appliances *********** 4 of the 6 appliances were damaged and have not been satisfactory repaired. All appliances were purchased new and the washer dryer was special order. Invoice number S03756022. First the 30 inch dual fuel range retails for ******** came twisted and damaged. The oven door and warming drawer twist from right to left. I dont believe this appliance is repairable so I am requesting this appliance to be exchanged for a new range. I have had numerous technicians out and they say it cant be fixed and have tried replacing parts. ****** ******* retails ********. File is under review with Coast AppliancesCustomer Answer
Date: 26/03/2025
Complaint: 23075658
I am rejecting this response because:
The response does not provide any action in regards to the original complaint. There has been no action taken to review the file that has been on going for three months with Coast with no customer satisfaction to date. My reason for submitting a complaint was to receive a response from Coast Appliances to provide answers and solutions to the ongoing issues I have with 4 appliances. Coast Appliances has a lot of policies and procedures to protect their company and it results in frustration and delays providing responses to customers. Even when a manufacturer has given the approval to exchange an appliance there is no response from Coast Appliances as to timing.
Sincerely,
***** ********Initial Complaint

I bought a GE laundry set on the boxing day, December 26 2024. It has not worked since it was delivered. I contacted Coast Appliances but the customer service told me it was not their responsibility after it was sold. So they told me to contact ** for warranty. The repair technician sent by ** told me that the whole drum inside the washer needs to be changed. I just can't believe a brand new machine needs such a huge maintenance. Basically, Coast Appliances just sold me a broken item! Today is February 21, 2025. I am still waiting for ** to fix this machine. I tried to contact Coast Appliances *************, but no one answered. I left the message but no one called back.Customer Answer

If Coast Appliances doesn't care about customer, please don't reply. 'Dryer has been repaired'. Have you ever called customer to ask about the exact issue?Anyone seeing this comment should avoid Coast Appliances. It is a nightmare for customer.
