  I wish I could leave zero stars. 2 Burley Men came with great recommendations, but I should have checked them out online. Using them to move from the lower mainland to Edmonton was an absolute horrible experience. It actually started before the movers even arrived. I was given a 3-day window for when they would arrive. Then I was given a 4-hour window on the day they were to arrive, which kept getting pushed back. They finally arrived at 5:30pm, after I was originally told they’d be there between 9-1. They did a good job wrapping all my furniture but left 2 e-bikes (worth $2600, each) unattended on street next to their truck. Fortunately, they were not stolen. They were supposed to do 2 pickups that day, but they didn’t finish the first one until 10:30pm, so that pushed my move back a day.
  Then the delivery kept getting pushed back. It went from arriving in Edmonton in the AM, to finally arriving at 6:15pm. This time there was 4 of them, when originally there had only been 2.
  Yes, a few items did get broken, beyond repair and they did compensate us, barely. Their insurance policy basically clears them of any responsibility.
  The problem with 2 Burley Men is that management over books their movers and the customers suffer.
  Shop around, there’s A LOT better companies to choose from.

  I contacted this company as another moving company ******* ***** ******* attempted to extort $1500 cash the night before on a scheduled move.
  Josh answered all my questions, worked magic really to get my condo contents picked up the same day I called. This was a BC to AB long haul for a job promotion. The movers showed up later in the day which was totally acceptable given this was a last-minute booking. Both movers, Mike and Richard, handled my belongings with care, we're expedient, friendly and efficient. This company helped elevated all the undue stress the previous company caused. I highly recommend this family-owned company for all your moving needs. They treated me with the utmost respect from the very first phone contact until the end.

  I hired 2 Burley Men Moving to move my belongings from Calgary to Vancouver Island. Based on the estimated amount I said go ahead. Upon arrival it was triple the amount with absolutely no communication in regard to weight or additional charges prior to leaving Alberta. On top of the costs related they were two days late showing up with no warning. When I called irate (rightfully so) about the whole situation JOSH BURLEY one of the owners then told me it's not his problem. Pay the bill or I will never get my belongings informed me I was lucky he even took the call regardless of him being point of contact from the get go and then proceeded to tell me to go f*^' myself and hung up the phone. After 3 weeks of trying to get ahold of someone to figure things out and hopefully compromise on the matter Josh burley again saying it's not my problem if you can't pay your bill don't contact me unless you can. I repeatedly said to him it was more than double and had I received a customer-oriented phone call to begin with I would have refused service and moved myself personally to which we would not be in this situation. Again, Mr. Burley said not my problem and he didn't really care what got us here the bottom line is the bill needs to be paid. I am at my wits end. I've been living with nothing sleeping on a floor eating off disposable wares trying for resolution for 3 weeks and don't know what else to do.

  Do NOT use this company for your move, especially if it's long haul. We chose them because we have a heavy player piano, and we were assured (by J. Burley) that "we move those all the time".
  We moved from Kootenays to Lethbridge, and it was a gong show from the start. First, they arrived late, complaining about the rules the whole time. The driver said he "didn't know anything about any piano, they don't have the proper gear, and they need 3 guys to move one." So I had to go into town and hire a third young man, at my expense, to try to get the piano into the truck. That was a scary experience.
  We chose their "flat rate" of $8000 for a 2 bedroom house, and J. Burley assured us that we would easily be less than 10,000 lbs, even with the heavy piano and my small workshop tools. They took 2 days to load, even though we had everything packed or wrapped. They left things behind. The young man did most of the work.
  In Lethbridge, our daughter met the truck. The driver claimed the truck was 6000 pounds overweight, and he wanted an extra $6000 paid before they would unload, or they would drive the truck to Calgary. He said he avoided all the scales between Kaslo and Lethbridge (there are 4 of them), so do we really know that truck was 6000 lbs overweight?
  She got J. Burley on the phone, and he was rude and obnoxious, calling me "old and confused", said I "went off the list", and so on. She got the cost reduced from the 16K they demanded, but this gong show resulted in us being charged 5K more than we contracted for.
  IF the truck was rated for 12,000 lbs as the driver said, and he claimed it weighed 18,000 lbs, is that not illegal? No wonder he skipped all the scales along that highway.
  We found numerous broken items - table scratched up, glass broken, shoes lost, pictures damaged and lots more. The driver said we "might" get 20¢ on the dollar if we claimed, so don't bother (his words).
  DO NOT HIRE this outfit. It will cost - in $$, stress and grief. ** **** *** *** *****

  This company broke our microwave by pushing in the panel so there was no way to set time or start. The microwave would not start at all. It cost us money to replace. They lost the power cords to both of our electric beds. This cost us $250.00 + US funds.
  We still have not found the TV power cord. They hung up on us after they reminded us that we had asked for this person to unload us in Medicine Hat. An employee, after he finished loading the trunk, demanded that we call NOW to ask for him to unload the trunk in Medicine Hat. They gave us the number and told us to call NOW. They did not move until we called, and he heard us ask for him and told us to call every day. We did not call again!
  This employee also, after he finished loading the trunk, asked for money, a tip of sorts. This is unprofessional and unethical.
  We have used your company for local moves, but this experience leaves us with a bad taste.
  We will never use or recommend this company for any kind of move. We give this business a -10 on a scale of 0-10.

  This is my third time working with 2 Burley Men Moving Ltd, and I have no complaints. What made this last occasion spectacular was that I was having a new bed in a box delivered to my home. However, I was not home and the bed was held at one of the delivery companies. I sat here thinking about how to get the bed to my apartment from the delivery company, and I called 2 Burley Men Moving Ltd. The bed was delivered, and the weigh bill indicated that the bed should be assembled. This blew my mind away, and even though my job was the last one for the day, Vince made sure the bed was assembled as per the weigh bill request. Vince went out of his way to make sure the job was well done. He is thorough, methodical, kind, patient, and caring, even after what I would imagine was a hard day. I would recommend Vince to any job site. Thank you - Kamau.

  This company took us for over $2000. When we made the initial call to them we told them the size of the house, all of the rooms, and what the rooms contained. They sent a truck that was to small and only 3 guys to move.
  Not surprising it took them 2 days to move the entire house and because of that we got charged more. If perhaps they had sent someone over to the house before the move to see what was all involved they could have planned it better and had the appropriate trucks and people to move in one day.
  This is also not mentioning they broke our dining room table, trashed the walls and chipped the hardwood. Would not recommend

  I've used this company three times in the last ten years and as usual, they were amazing. TJ and Louis moved my household goods from Qualicum Beach to Parksville in record time and I have nothing but praise for them. Thanks guys for doing such an awesome job.

  Broken furniture, missing boxes, missing items. They didn’t have enough room so they took a bunch of my furniture apart and did not put it back together. Called about the missing items and boxes and got the run around resulting in nothing. I will never call this company again and actively discourage other people from using them as movers. Also I had a one bedroom apartment and they told me my stuff weighed over 3000lbs and I just had to take their word for it. It cost around $5000 to move my stuff. Worst moving experience ever.

  November 2, 2023. Be aware and very careful. This company does not appear to be insured. Based on our experience with our long-haul delivery from North Vancouver to Calgary, this company is not insured, and they will take no responsibility for any damage they caused to your personal belongings. Several pieces of our furniture arrived either very dirty, damaged or broken. Our damage will be at least $4K and the offered $395. Contrary to their comment in response to others who reviewed this company they will make no attempt to make things right so don't believe them. The information provided up front is almost non-existent. They make a guesstimate based on a telephone call as to your costs based on a few questions. I offered to send pictures to assist with their quote but they said no thank you and then, when our belongings arrived, they had increased our costs by 60% and also attempted to add on an additional $900 in fees. Be careful. They tell you that each load is weighed at a scale which may be true but it is almost impossible to verify the weight of your load based on the weigh tickets provided. They advertise that payment for the project is due on delivery but in fact they hold you ransom and will not deliver anything until you make full payment. Based on the end result, I can understand why they demand the payment upfront. I would seriously look for another option.
