  I found FriesenPress to be an engaged partner throughout the process of bringing a first book to publication. The initial sales person shared information and provided some good advice. The project manager was supportive and replied to queries and requests in a timely manner. The editor grasped the intent of the book and provided excellent feedback. The cover design team listened well and created 3 good choices for a cover. The book design team was attentive to detail, honoured input and were responsive to suggestions. The FriesenPress Account Centre was an easily managed site with timely follow up from the Project Manager. The promotional supports were informative.
  I enjoyed the interactions with the staff with whom I interacted.

  When I received my first hard cover copy of my new book I was over joyed with the presentation!
  It was absolutely beautiful. Better than I expected. The Design team did such a fantastic job on the covers. The My Story team were so helpful for a new author and so patient with my inexperience.

  As a former school administrator who contracted FriesenPress for several years to produce annual yearbooks, I felt confident in the quality service that I would receive in publishing my first book. The company has definitely lived up to expectations. Among other things, I found the staff to be caring, approachable, dependable, collaborative, professional and resourceful. From start to finish, step by step, they provided thoughtful guidance and support to optimize both process and product. Online resources proved helpful and were easily accessible.   I've been smiling a lot lately. The reason: I'm holding the book I've recently published with FriesenPress. It was a twenty year project that came to fruition. My novel is based on the lived experience of a family struggling against a debilitating disease.My first thanks must go to Jamie as he guided me through the daunting world of publishing. What I appreciated most about Jamie was the work balance we achieved: he offered invaluable guidance, introduced information, and offered sage advice but ultimately he made sure that the choices I made about my book were truly mine.
  For me, a big hurdle in publishing was that I was a near Luddite. Jamie was patient as I learned new skills. I never once felt pressured or embarrassed in the process; in fact, my confidence grew as I became more computer literate.
  My work with Rory at FriesenPress was equally satisfying. As I submitted draft after draft, my manuscript began to take the shape of a book. How exciting.
  Another fulfilled dream of mine came true when I was able to use images that my nephew Gordon ******** had painted years before as a possible book cover. FriesenPress was open to the idea and made it possible. I love the cover of my book.
  The logistics of publishing a book include phone calls, timelines, emails and deadlines. Every phone call set up was on time. Every email was answered promptly. The original estimated timeline of how long the entire publishing process would take was very accurate. FriesenPress pays attention to detail.
  My wonderful experience of working with this 100% employee-owned company is one I wish for all writers. Sign up with these professionals and you too will come away from this experience smiling!

  I initially submitted my poetry to editing services just for feedback, unsure if I was going to pursue publishing services. The feedback I received from the Friesen Press was so great in that they helped improve my writing while supporting my work and goal of keeping it authentic to me, my writing style, and the messaging I was trying to express through my poetry. It was an easy decision to pursue publishing my first book with Friesen Press.
  The entire process was life changing for me in bringing a secret passion of mine to life, from words to truly an artistic expression of myself, what I envisioned for my writing, to the final product.
  Friesen Press worked with me every step of the way, explaining, teaching, and working with me to keep my book aligned with what I wanted. I have learned so much from taking a mere idea to something real. I was assigned a publishing specialist and Syd worked closely with me. She was personable, professional, supportive, and knowledgeable. I was never pressured with any decision, no upselling, no fine print; just let me know what services were available to me. I received frequent updates on my project, and was included in every decision along the way.
  This is my first book I have published, and I truly hope to work with Friesen Press more in the future.

  I felt it necessary to chime in on my positive experience with FriesenPress. From the initial contact in October 2023, and now more than 3/4 of the way through the process with a few months remaining before it’s published, I must say that it has been a great experience. They employ professional staff who really listen and take pride in bringing your vision to life. I had no idea of how complex the publishing process was. I had never written a book before this, but knew I needed to seek out the right people to take it to the next stages. Writing a book in itself is a huge feat. Sometimes I wonder how I even did it. With the help of Lindsay and ma Team, I’m almost there…and so excited about it. You never know what you’re capable of until you try. If you have a completed manuscript, or a work in progress and are trying to decide on a publishing company your can trust…look no further. Thanks to all of you involved with my project. Ya got 5 stars from me.

  The book I published with Friesen was a legacy project. I am literary executor for a poet who died in 2018 and one of his last literary wishes was that his Collected Poems be published. I have no regrets at all about going the self-publishing route. It gave me a bit of control and also allowed me choices that I wouldn't have had with a traditional publisher. The members of my publishing team have been supportive, reliable and genuinely interested in our progress. The finished product is a gorgeous book. Everyone who sees it remarks on its beauty. I am now getting books out for review and promotion and into bookstores and I feel quite confident that help is available to me, whenever I need it, in this next step.
